Hi,

I just updated my site to the latest NewsMag theme update. Had been running NewsMag since the last 6 months.

But after the update, NO images (including my sites logo!) are displaying on the site. They’re only showing up on the theme’s featured images on the homepage.

Hello,

The problem originates from the number of posts you set to your block. It uses 3 columns so if 10 posts are set, it cannot align the 10 posts on a 3 column layout. 9 would be the best choice here. 10 or 11 will create a blank spot. It needs a x3 multiplier (3/6/9/12…etc) to display posts in every spot.
In any other column layout you would have this problem either it’s a 2 column or 3 column, if you do not set a post number according to the layout.
(The second page happens to have left exactly the number of posts required to fill the columns.)

I ma new this forum and just bought Newspaper6 few days ago,Actually i was impressed by checking Newspaper6 Homepage so i decided to bought this theme,But after purchase this theme is looking very critical,there is no enough tutorial or easy to design.

Can you let me know how can i make same homepage design as like as Newspaper6?
Any tutorial?

also my homepage is showing “Home-Blog” why?

Thanks Catalin for your detailed answer. But it is very long way for create a menu item. I don’t want create a page and WP custom menu for each menu item. I must use Visual Composer for this. I don’t prefer using VC except homepage. Because VC eat my cpu and memory.

Can I create columns on mega menu with custom css?

Hi

First of all your site is set to display the latest article not a static page. If you want to change that go at Settings > Readings and chose a static page to be displayed as front page: http://screencast.com/t/VSDcbdz7tP If you want to change the post template for the blog page, that can be done from theme panel > template settings: http://screencast.com/t/4p9bgL2DAS

Hi,

I understand now. If you just want to hide the header ad on the homepage, you can use css to do it:

.home .td-g-rec-id-header{
display:none!important
}

Just place the code in the custom css box in the theme panel.
If you want to remove the ad on other pages as well, you can use the same code again, only change the .home class to the ‘page id’ class. You can get the page id number using your browser inspector: http://screencast.com/t/XRgXQokTB9
For the example page from the screenshot, the ‘page id’ class is page-id-41 so we will use the code like so:
.page-id-41 .td-g-rec-id-header{
display:none!important
}

Thanks for the response.

But I see the advised meta info is for social sharing optimisation but I’m looking for meta info in posts display.

Example:-

I have a homepage listing the latest posts. Every posts have a author name and date at the bottom of the row along with post title and excerpt.

But I’d like to move that meta info above post title.

format:- Avatar; Author Name, Time(in descending order)

Please could you advice which page need to be amended to get this change.

Featured image size - topic

Hi,

I have a question regarding the image sizes. I would like my featured images to take all the space allocated for featured images on the homepage. With the update to theme 6.0, all my images seem to be now too small (the width) and it just doesn’t look very nice / not slick.

I’m using Big Grid Slide and Block 2 and Block 4 on the homepage.

Hello, i have a problem about header. When i click a post or something from menu, a big space appers in header. ( but homepage is normal ) you can see in the pictures.

Ok, thanks. I tried creating a new page and it seemed to work so it seems to be something on the existing homepage that isn’t allowing Visual Composer elements to display. Not sure what that would be though, as the homepage doesn’t have any other plugins or anything active that isn’t elsewhere. I’ll send through the link now anyway.

Ok, I’ll try my settings but I still think the blocks should be showing content the way they are set up, but are not showing on the homepage at all at the moment?

Any other obvious issues or settings I should check?

I am having unusual problem with block 19 on my homepage. It’s not showing title of the first post, it shows only picture. You can see my problem illustraded here:

Hi, I’ve just set up Newspaper theme on a staging site, everything seems to be working fine apart from Visual Composer for the homepage. The Visual Composer is available from the back end and I’ve started off with the existing default template, but when I publish there is nothing showing in the content area on the homepage – there is just a blank space between the header and footer? Is there something obvious I am missing to enable it to display?

The staging site is password protected, so if you need to see it can I send you the URL privately?

JS errors with BigGrid on Homepage - topic

Hi,

Im using BigGrid6 as my homepage main grid and as soon as I post a second post I get JS errors within the td-main-content-wrap div, If I remove the category from the BigGid6 so it only shows 1 post, it displays fine. I’ve tried different grid styles still have the same issue. Site is [removed by admin] no idea on this one.

Would appreciate any advice.

Recently, I had found an issue with my homepage. When I click the page archives in in the recent posts,
Example http://www.getcooltricks.com/page/2/ it is again showing the homepage. I had disables all the plugins and tried. But still I’m seeing the homepage instead of Page archive 2. Kindly help me. Website: getcooltricks.com

Ok, I’ve done some tinkering and it seems to go back to the default mode now. What I did was delete and reinstall the theme and tagDiv Social Counter plugin to version 3.0 and it looks good. All I need to do now is to reconfigure the settings for the homepage.

Hey
I have a site in hebrew (rtl), and couldn’t figure out how to change the directions of the big slide, so that the big image will be on the right, and the 3 small image on the left.
also, I’d like to know how to change the category setups in homepage (block 5/3 ect), so that the newest article will show on the right.

and one last question- how do I change the color of the post/page background?
