Hello.
The theme already has a set of placeholder images like so:
In order to change these images, you will have to do it manually by creating a placeholder image and replacing these thumbnails: https://www.screencast.com/t/B1cSNNXPLv
You have to keep the file name and sizes intact for it to work properly.
Thank you!
Please find below a link to the site:
Also note that force full width is set to no stretch and i have also tried setting the background image size to all available sizes(auto, full width, full hight…)
Hello people how are you ?? So I wanted to edit my font sizes but I am missing some spots I cannot found the correct settings in my theme panel. Also I want to ask if I can make the images be smaller by some settings or I have to resize every image?? Thanks and have a great day!!
Hi,
But there would be no need to do something like that. For example header styles 9, 10 or 11 you can upload any logo size you want
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/
The image used will be resized automatically when viewing the website on different devices. This is a demo which uses header style 10 and a big logo image
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_cars/
You can see how the logo resizes, on an iPad device for example

Thanks
Hi,
I’m trying to edit my website and finding some problems. I have four posts that were written before I bought the template. The images aren’t adjusting to the space. On the Grid they don’t fit the space, so I see a gray area, and on the block the images have different sizes. Where can I adjust this so they fill all the available space?
Thank you.
Hi,
No, the theme will create only one thumbnail size, no need to create multiple ones. I see that all those images are 1278×664, that is not a thumb that the theme uses. You can see the thumb sizes the theme will create in the theme panel.
That is not a default WordPress thumbnail either
– https://www.screencast.com/t/TxBKKdn84Cyv
So it could be created by a plugin you use, you could check that. Take a look at all your plugins, maybe you can identify what is creating them.
Thanks
Hi,
We will reply as soon as possible, please check the support hours and also note that there was no support on Monday (banner shown at top of forum). Also please do not reply in your own topic after the initial post, if possible. This will only delay the response, we answer from oldest to newest.
The theme will create thumbnails from featured images and also videos. It will not display the original image or video in blocks for example. Thumbnails have advantages, most notable would be page size. Instead of serving the original image resized, a cropped thumbnail is used.
These thumbnails will be displayed in blocks/modules/grids
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
For each size is specified where it is used, you can disable the thumbnails sizes you are not using
– https://www.screencast.com/t/2yUReiQUkMY
Thanks
I need to know the sizes for the header logo images in pixels so I can pass it on to the graphics guy in my group in order for him to create effective graphics. I noticed it’s different depending on which header style you choose. Thanks!
Hi,
So the problem was with thumbnails not displaying properly on Safari. The thumbnails created by the theme are of specific fixed sizes for each module
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
It would be somewhat impossible that the images would display in different sizes across browsers. Unless maybe you use a CDN for the images, plugins for image optimization or plugins that could affect images, optimization coding etc. If the thumbnails would have a problem it would be displayed on all browsers.
Most thumbnail issues (like not being of the same size) are fixed by regenerating them
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Let us know if there still is a problem, provide a link to it and we will take a look.
Thanks
In theme panel > custom css, I have this code posted:
@media screen and (min-width: 426px) {
.advert {background: url(http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/advert-1.jpg);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-size: 100% 100%;
display: block;
width: 100%;
height: 90px;
}
}
@media screen and (min-width: 375px) and (max-width: 425px) {
.advert {background: url(http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/advert-2.jpg);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
display: block; background-size: 100% 100%;
width: 100%;
height: 90px;
}
}
@media screen and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 374px) {
.advert {background: url(http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/advert-3.jpg);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
display: block; background-size: 100% 100%;
width: 100%;
height: 77px;
}
}
Weird thing is, testing it on a 320px iphone, it works for the homepage but not on categories & posts. Same thing for firefox browser on desktop. When I test it with google devtools (adjusting the device sizes) it does show up. What is with the inconsistencies? I don’t have the latest theme update, could that be it? Even some pages on mobile it gives me the wrong image….
Glad it worked. Referring to your new question, that is a row background. Rows can have a video background (only YouTube for the moment), a color or an image.
Also for wider results rows can be stretched, either to full or predefined sizes. So for example first select the row you want and set it to stretch
– https://www.screencast.com/t/IaigRWEn31k
Then set a color background – https://www.screencast.com/t/Fo5pqMMAO
Add some padding to achieve the result as in the demo, and that would be it
– https://www.screencast.com/t/iYHRwKns
Newsletters forms such as Mailchimp are compatible with the theme. The form embed code that is provided to you by them can be entered in text elements
– https://www.screencast.com/t/MRaUrwM4kc1c
There is also a Newsletter element we provide, it can only be used on pages for the moment
– https://tagdiv.com/newsletter-plugin/
Let us know if you have more questions.
Blocks and grids use thumbnails that are created from your featured images
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
The modules that make up blocks and grids have predefined thumbnail sizes, these cannot be changed by a theme setting, only enabled/disabled. If your thumbnails are not displaying properly, please regenerate them
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Hi,
The featured image can be bigger, for example the live theme demos use in some cases much bigger image sizes
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
This will however not have an impact, these original images will not be loaded in their full size on the website. Only thumbnails created from them will be shown
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Of course images can be further optimized. If you do not set featured images the modules in block and grids will display a default placeholder thumb. Of course your hosting plan has be ready for increased content and traffic

Hi,
That will be the case. The theme can produce a total of 19 thumbnail size, when they are enabled in the theme panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
These thumbs are used on blocks/modules. They can be disabled and they will not be created anymore. Disable the ones that are not needed. Next to each size it is specified which elements use it
– https://www.screencast.com/t/8YKI4tcR
WordPress also creates 3 sizes, you could disable those like this
– http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-prevent-wordpress-from-generating-image-sizes/
Note that the WordPress thumbnail size may be used by the theme in some cases, module 16 uses it for example.
Thanks
I’m not sure why but for every image we upload to our server it’ll crunch it down as normal but then produce 22 (yes 22!!) different variations of size. Any ideas where i can change which thumbnails sizes it creates?
I’m not sure if this is a plugin issue or if it’s the newspaper theme default?
Tx in advance lovely community of legends.
Dave
1. Seems I cannot manage to view your website at the moment
– https://www.screencast.com/t/vDenjKEu
Regarding the thumbnails, maybe you are not using big enough featured images.
Or the GD library for PHP is not installed on your server as required in the guide I provided. You could consult with your hosting provider and check if that is the case.
4. The ad box should display the ad you want. If your Adsense ad is created of that size it should be displayed accordingly
– https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/6002575?hl=en
You can also select specific ad sizes in the theme panel, for the ad you want
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/ads-adsense-overview/
5. Same for the article ads – https://forum.tagdiv.com/article-ads/
If you use the mobile theme you have different ad spots
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
If you do not use Adsense then you can display your ads based on device

Hello team,
I’m facing a specific issue regarding the single image component. The image uploaded on the media section is not respecting the configuration set in the Image Size section, for instance: thumbnail, medium or large.
I’ve tried to set a fixed size (150×150) but it also not worked.
Can you please help me?

Hi,
I’ve been using Newspaper for about a month now and from the start I have been getting many HTTP errors when I upload images. Usually about five or six a day. I spend many wasted minutes trying to reupload images until finally it works. I reduce the file sizes so they’re under 100K if possible or a bit more & it seems to help, but not all the time. This happens from differnet comptuers at different internet connections and ONLY on my Newspaper-themed blog. Can you help?
Hi Guys,
I’m finally capitulating and trying to get used to TagDiv Composer.
When I put a single image on the left and text on the right, I am finding that on a mobile device, I am getting a wide space between the bottom of the image and the top of the text: Image here: https://imgur.com/HzPbPec
I can play around with the image height in mobile view, but then the problem is that this setting remains the same for all other views (i.e., desktop, laptop, and tablet) which then looks like rubbish.
Shouldn’t this just resize normally in a mobile device without the extra space? Where is this extra space being called from? It is clearly not anything to do with margin or padding.
It would be helpful if I could edit for each device, but as it is now, a change in the responsive mode in the TagDiv editor remains when I go back to the other screen sizes. Very frustrating.
Hello zeroenigma,
Please notice that our theme uses thumbnails with different sizes and the images will be cropped, according to your thumbnails used by modules/blocks. Please check here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/hCr0N8mnOC I saw that major of your images are made landscape mode and that’s why you bring these results -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Sw3qsxEZ7M We recommend that your images be in portrait mode, as an example.
Thanks for your understanding!
This is not what I asked.
Let me rephrase and please answer to the specific questions below:
Question 1)
I’ve added a -5% left and right padding to Big Grid 6.
Thus, bigger images than 1068×580 will be needed in desktop for Big Grid 6.
Running regeneration plugin, will regenerate images according to the original size, not to the one thats really needed after this padding.
Should I change a line in code? or a setting regarding thumbnails’ sizes? If yes, please be specific.
I tried uploading a new image and problem still exists. This means that it wont be solved after a regeneration of images at all.
Question 2)
Is there a quicker way than wp-cli’s regenerate? Im not talking about regeneration plugin – im talking about wp-cli which avoids the http request of regenerate thumbnails plugin, making the process much quicker.
Our website contains 40.000 images and Im wondering if WP CLI is the best way to go with this.

No offence, but if you are not familiar with the above terms or tasks, please escalate this ticket to a higher level of support, so I can get the proper answers.
The most of thumbnails are really improved. But the problem on this slider remains…

http://screenshotlink.ru/166936d2a7d860697c8300044c627659.png
Also, I have changed the featured images with larger sizes.
Hi,
I would like make all images same sizes on homepage using tagdiv composer block.
As you can see from the screenshot below, the 2 images are not same size with others.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/a4m4fwaqg8jrroh/newspaper-edit.jpg?dl=0
How to make these image thumbnail same size with others?
Thank you.
Thank you Bogdan. Could you tell me a little more?
Run the regen plugin after switching to TD or before? Running the regen plugin sounds pretty risky…I am thinking what if it changes even the existing image sizes which are just fine with VC but shows issues only when I use TD. What confuses me is, if the problem is at my end AND if both the plugin (VC and TD) blocks work the same way so far images are concern, then why all is fine with VC at the moment but changes when I use TD with identical blocks?

In setting up Demo Fashion Style magazine template of Newsmag each image used in the article (post) grid view has many different-sized multiples such as p5-80×60.jpg, p5-100×75.jpg, p5-150×150.jpg, p5-180×135.jpg, etc,etc,up to p5-768×513.jpg.
19 separate sized jpgs for this one article in all its responsive views.
Other articles might use 8 different width-height ratios for one image. Another article uses 11 different width-height ratios.
These images are also cropped differently for wide or height-dominant displays.
I would guess you were optimizing Responsive views so that you’d have fixed ratio sizes that would fit so many devices.
But I cannot do this for every article of a News Magazine without a full-time graphics person just to generate so many custom proportions for each article image.
Do you have an auto-generate function in Newsmag that automatically generates all needed proportions from the master full-size image?
Otherwise it appears I will not be able to work right-out-of-the-box and make my magazine articles ever look as slickly responsive as your Fashion theme demo unless i can generate up to 19 different image ratios.
What is the story here on how a new article will be created with its own representative image for different responsive sizes and/or mobile devices?
Thanks for clearing up my confusion!
