Hi,
I have tried calling different thumbnail sizes in the post template and it is working for me. Some examples
– https://www.screencast.com/t/SzuTcMGivLh
– https://www.screencast.com/t/kvV2TenPa4P
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Z67wzklIywr
– https://www.screencast.com/t/twuau90RG
These thumbnail sizes are all available
– https://www.screencast.com/t/yyurNDy5
Maybe you can try this a different way. From what I can tell those bigger thumbnails are simply stretched from the original image. The same thing can be achieved with a code like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/tura62SR5v
The code will affect each featured image on the default post template.
.td-post-template-default
.td-post-featured-image img {
width: 100%;
}
Thanks
1. What do you recommend for images sizes if image quality is very important: 1920x… or 1068x… or bigger?!
2. What is the difference between “image” and “retina image”? If I switch on retina image for 80×60 do I have to upload the image with 160×120? Do I have to upload 2 images, one with 80×60 for images and one with 160×120 for retina images (in case both switches – one for images and one for retina image – are turned on)?
Hi,
I still don’t know what exactly you are trying to achieve with the default post template. I have tried it like you and the thumbnail size if it exists is called in the post page
– https://www.screencast.com/t/eSFCziLz
The process is simple, you upload a featured image and the theme will create the necessary thumb sizes if they are enabled in the theme panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
These thumbs will be then used on the blocks, post pages etc.
Thanks
Hi,
If the image is smaller then it will be displayed as it is. It will not get enlarged or stretched to fit by the theme. Some thumb sizes will be created only if the image is big enough to allow it
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/
You could simply leave it as it is, or use a different post template like template 1 which displays a smaller image size
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-templates-2/
Or templates that do not display the featured image on the post page, like template 5.
You could also try plugins that maybe can stretch the images, but that could result in quality loss.
Thanks
Hello sil2,
Notice that our theme uses thumbs to crop images. Also, as you can see, the theme uses a lot of thumbs because we have some modules/blocks which are using different thumbs. In that folder, when you load an image, the theme will automatically crop the images for all of the sizes used by our thumbnails and the theme will prepare the images to be ready in case of using a block of those available. Also, if you want to reduce this process, you should turn off from the theme panel the blocks which you do not want to use for your entire theme, from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/W2vtuCiQb and then, the theme will do not make any images fro this thumbs.
I hope that you understand me and hope that you understand the entire process in this regard.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
1. You could try with a FullHD image – 1920×1080px this should provide best results. As an example this is the background image used on a category page in the theme demo
– https://www.screencast.com/t/AFZo2uDS
2. For the mobile menu or search background you can experiment with different image sizes, there is no specified size requirement. You can try a few images and see which is the best to use.
3. For ad tracking maybe you can find a plugin that has the option. Some users have installed the Adrotate plugin, that could have what you are looking for.
4. Post template 8 uses the featured image as background image, that is the style of the template. This will override the website background. You can use a different post template style, if you do not want this to happen.
Thanks
Hi,
You can check the specifications mentioned by Google for ad sizes
– https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/17955?hl=en
– https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/6002621?hl=en
More about the theme ad capabilities and settings in the ads section
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-ads-adsense/
For the background a recommended size would be a FullHD image – 1920x1080px
Thanks
The recent update of Newspaper changed EVERY ONE OF OUR IMAGES on our “Pages” to have a image height restriction = 200 pixels (which is way too short…i.e. we don’t want a height limitation….or at least not one this short)
Since all our images are sized similar to “Posts”, this is creating a problem across our entire website, i.e. all the “Page” images are too short (https://StyleChicago.com)
Can you help us figure out how to change this (to get rid of pixel height limitation)
Page Example #1:
PAGE:
https://stylechicago.com/cafe-des-architectes-sofitel-chicago/ (source image is taller similar to our “Posts”)
UNDERLYING IMAGE URL:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/luxechicago/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/23114858/CafeDesArchitectes_DiningRoom_670x439.jpg
Page Example #2:
PAGE: https://stylechicago.com/city-winery-chicago/
UNDERLYING IMAGE: https://s3.amazonaws.com/luxechicago/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/05135653/CityWineryChicago_Exterior_750x454.jpg
Both of the images are between 400 and 500 pixels tall….but Newspaper / Worpress appears to be restricting the “Page” image height to 200 pixels.
Thanks so much!

Thanks for the reply.
I haven’t been using the tagdiv composer so I wasn’t using both at the same time.
I did a test page using the single image using tagdiv composer where the heigh settings work but the image isn’t responsive to different screen sizes, it just gets cut. Any settings I’m missing?
Going back to text block – I believe in tagdiv composer, its not column text.. When I tried adding an image and it did not go full width. The text did.
Sample here: https://rmn.ph/test-ad/
Well it happened right after the update. Meaning I hadn’t touched anything and the images put through “single image” changed sizes. All the rest is good though. It’s all the images “single image”… Its like they’re not managed as in the old version.
Hi,
It would be best if you would choose one of the available header styles, and use the recommended logo sizes
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/
Maybe you can find a layout that you will like. Each header style has a recommended logo size, except for the ones where any image size can be used.
Thanks
Hi,
Please enable in the theme panel the thumbnail sizes required for the modules
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Then use this guide to regenerate the thumbnails
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
After the regeneration process is complete clear any caching installed on your website. Now the thumbnails should display properly.
Thanks
Hello, thanks for the great theme that is Newspaper! Onto my issue: by default Newspaper has Retina images turned off. I turned them on for all blocks and sizes, and regenerated all thumbnails, as per the instructions you’ve left. However, what I’m continuing to get on both Microsoft Edge and Chrome, are the lower-res versions. I’ve tried clearing the browser cache, but it didn’t change anything. Only on Firefox, the pictures are indeed Retina-quality. My website is at http://www.gamerdino.com. Please let me know what I should do in order to fix this issue, so that all browsers start showing the Retina image variants. Thank you!

Hello!
First of all: Congrats for the new tagDiv-Composer! Excellent work! But I have a different question: My website’s mobile theme shows fullsize images instead of 741×486 in the Big grid M3 and mostly 533×261 instead of 265×198 on the rest of the frontpage. The images with the correct sizes do exist. I have no idea, why this happens. You can see the disaster on Googles PageSpeed, if you look after http://www.travel4news.at or http://www.cruise4news.at.
Greetings
Wolfgang
Hi,
Check the theme panel and see if you have the thumbnail sizes required for the gallery enabled. The images should not display like that, maybe something is interfering with the gallery. It would be very helpful if you could provide a link to this gallery so I can inspect it.
You could try to disable all your plugins except the ones bundled with the theme, clear any caching installed on your website, then check to see if this has any effect.
Thanks
Hello,
The new big grid full blocks do not have font options yet. We plan to add them in the future but until such time you can use a bit of css to change the font sizes.
.td_block_big_grid_fl_4 .td-module-title a, .td_block_big_grid_fl_8 .td-module-title a{
font-size:25px;
}
The images however cannot be adjusted as the thumbnails and css are created for this specific dimension. The blocks in our grid are not editable in width and height. They are predefined in size. Different blocks have different sizes and aspect ratios.
Thank you!
Catalin:
First, thanks for all your help with my previous inquiries over the past year. Much appreciated.
I’m writing with three questions.
1) I updated my site from 7.8.1 to 8. Once I did that, the Single Image Composer in Visual Composer no longer displays the image correctly. It’s my site logo on the home page of rovertreks.com. I’ve tried adjusting sizes, re-installing, and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
2) I would like to post my logo as a banner across the top of all pages? How do I do that? Up to this point, I’ve run the logo as a large single image to identify my site name.
3) I cannot get social counter to recognize my Facebook feed to display the number of followers. I’ve followed the troubleshooting procedures you folks recommend: clearing cache, reloading pages, etc. Nothing works. Any suggestions?
As always, I appreciate your help and advice. Thanks, tom
Thank you for advice! The problem was with one of the plugins.
Now I have another inconvenience. Images have different sizes and I’ve got these grey gaps:
What should I do for solving this problem? I want the system automaticly optimize sizes picking them from articles and resizing for grids.
And why is it impossible to change the order of articles in grids manually? There are so many options like “latest”, “oldest”, and “a-z” but there is no simple opportunity to make it by myself.
Maybe You can take an Lok to the “Include” Folder and than in the “td_config.php”.
On any Updates I must change some things. If You find differenzed sizes You sould corrected it and than You can used an Plugin like “Image resize” or so on.
Greetings
In blocks and modules, images are cropped to fit the grid sizes, obviously… you cant fit square in rectangle. With featured image, the size inserted into a post template will fit the template size used, not the sizes you type into wordpress settings. If you insert images into posts or pages manually you can choose one of the preset sizes made by wordpress if different from size you actually uploaded. At least thats how it works on my sites.

Hi,
The theme will automatically create the necessary thumb sizes from the featured images you use. It will create thumbnails based on what thumb sizes are enabled in the theme panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Each module has it’s own thumb size specific to it. This also influences how the images will look depending on the module used
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/
Thanks
Hi,
The only solution is to regenerate the thumbnails to create the proper image sizes needed for the modules
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
The method mentioned has worked and is working for other users that had this problem with the thumbnails. If you have tested with a new post and the thumbnail is created properly, then the theme is working fine. It is just a matter of regenerating the older ones, which should work with either of the regenerating tools mentioned.
Thanks
we have featured image for all the posts in our site …
using above method is there any possibility to create thumbnails with multiple sizes for only the featured image for all the posts ..
Reason i asked this is we have around we have 54,616 items in media library which will increase no of inodes on the server
if you have guys have any solution to re-generate thumbnails i would like to share details.. this will help us
I’ve tried several different clean images of various sizes to upload to the Newspaper site, and none of them are loading. I’m running a pretty clean site with minimal plugins. I’ve not had this issue come up before, so it’s something with the theme.
Please let me know if there’s a fix to this.
I get two types off errors, either a time out error on a 2mb image, or I get an error during crunching.
I’ve uploaded the image, and I get an error when it’s crunching. But when I manually load the image, and then dowload it, to see if the image is corrupt, it’s fine.
