Maybe make sure you have the GD library installed on your server; WordPress uses that to create new images/thumbnails from your image uploads. Then the ‘featured’ image in post gets used to create the thumbs found on indexes and home page, etc.

When making a blog posting, we set the highlighted image correctly, however, the post to be published and shared automatically by the Jetpack on facebook and twitter, does not appear the highlighted image.

There are still problems with this plugin. I needed to change the Instagram-Username. After the change, the counter constantly shows “0” followers. Caches are emptied and I deinstalled the plugin and installed it again – does not help. Ideas? Thank you!
if i had installed it incorrectly, then it would not show up as a theme in WordPress. i have been running this site using Magazinly, and it worked fine with 2 other themes as well, so don’t think it is a problem with the server. the only theme that throws this error is Newsmag.

we are using/testing wordpress ‘s default comment system and want to install a
“Subscribe to Comments” type of plugin to it so when someone replies to comment author, he will get email notice
I have tried
“Subscribe to Comments” , not working, not even showing up
“Send email only on Reply to My Comment, but the way it positions is too close to everyhing on comments box, drop-out menu is not nice either
any other choice? I prefer it is a simple radio button like bbpress, simple and works!

Please make sure that you install the theme according with our guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installation-newsmag/ Note that you need to unzip the folder downloaded from themeforest and upload the Newsmag.zip file from: Newsmag-tf.zip\Newsmag-tf Also you need to update the plugins from /plugins path. Before the update process make sure you deactivate all plugins and clear all caches.
This could also happen due to your server configuration, so if the process fails again you should also contact your host provider and let him know about this.

Trying to install Newsmag, but when I go to Live Preview I just get a spinning wheel (loading) icon. If I try to activate it, I get this error message:
The request was not completed. The server met an unexpected condition.
Things I’ve tried
downloaded a new zip file of just the theme
uploaded the theme directly via ftp
deleted and re-installed the theme several times
deactivated all plugins

Your latest update suggesting installing JetPack.
It was JetPack’s setting that was causing the problems. I unchecked the social media and related posts options and it was back to normal.

I recently installed the latest version of Newspaper onto a site. I set up the homepage choosing one of the suggested layouts from Visual Composer. However, the problem is that the images are not showing on the home page at all, nor the slider or its’ images.
I’ve tried
-clearing cache
-deactivating all plugins 1 by 1
How do I fix this?
I did all your suggestions and located the problem for that is was caused by child theme.
The problem fixed after I install child theme you provided. I created a child theme by plugin previously and caused the problem.

We have not tested if it will work, as version 3.8 is a bit old and we only tested updating from version 4.
You could try to update to 4 and then follow our update guide(make sure to back-up), but our suggestion is to delete the old version, install the new one, and rebuild your site without using the script.
Newspaper 6 is a whole new theme that is released for free for all of our existing customers so an update to version 6 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible).
Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ also update the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. Also you have to update the child theme if you use it, please note that old files customization or custom css will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust and re-add them.
Bottom line is that newspaper 6 is a whole new theme built from scratch.

I tried to install the plugin Infinite Post Transporter. This plugin adds infinite scroll to the single post page. When reading a single post, once the reader reaches the bottom of the page, the next post loads in.
I tried to set it up with default WP theme (Twentyfifteen) and succeed. But when I tried it with the Newspaper theme, infinity function does not work. Appropriate instruction, I also have to add code “add_theme_support( ‘infinite-transporter’ );” in themes functions.php file. Still not working. What’s the solution?

i have take it from parent theme only these:
1)style.css
2)functions.php
3)comments.php
4)header-style1.php

I dont’t have any problem or something like that, but i was wondering do i need to take more files
from the parent theme?
For example if i want to modify any code or something to my web site, they tell my to put a code at header.php
But i don’t have a header.php. So, i need to take the header.php and put it at my child theme, or i need to put the code inside to the parent them to header.php???

If the server doesn’t allow external connections or has some restrictions for it the theme demo install system returns an error like the one you encountered. It could be due to a delay or it could also be a temporary issue so you can try this a few times and if you still get this error contact your host provider and let him know about this. Another cause may be the traffic, each operation has a time limit, at certain hours the traffic may be high and while the theme tries to download the images the operation exceeds the allocated time and a 404 or timeout error may be returned.

Newspaper 6 is practically a new theme, the whole code was rewritten so you have do a clean update and make sure that no old files remain. Please follow the guide suggested by Chris. Make full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one. The recommended method is via FTP. Then update also the theme plugins: Visual Composer (also optional plugins Social Counter, Speed Booster if you use them).
Please note that the old custom modifications to the files or custom css will not work, you will have to adjust and re-add them. Also the shortcodes have been changed.

have had to install my backup of the site as the update wasn’t working.
The backup contains v4.6.3 – This is now working fine but would like to upgrade to latest version 6 and then update WP.

Ok, did the one by one deactivation of every plugin I have and isolated the issue to Visual Composer. When I deactivate Visual Composer, Facebook reads my Yoast SEO open graph tags perfectly. When Visual Composer is activated, Facebook totally ignores the Yoast SEO open graph tags and does not pick up post titles or post images which is really unacceptable. This would also explain why I only starting seeing this issue on Facebook after installing the Newspaper theme. Is Visual Composer conflicting with the Yoast SEO open graph tags, and if so, is there a way to remove the conflict?
Not sure how integrated visual composer is with the Newspaper them, so I will also see if there is a separate support page for Visual Composer.

1. Yes if your second install is apart of your product. Envato specifies that each theme can be used for one product (site/domain). You can read more about it here – http://themeforest.net/licenses/standard
2. Our blog is custom made and the theme doesn’t have an option for this, I suggest to hire a freelance to do this for you. What you can achieve with the theme adding a background image to the row using Visual Composer is – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_travel/
3. There is no blank page template(without header and footer). We have managed to provide a solution for this, please check this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-do-i-create-a-completely-blank-page/#post-68273
Or you can hide header and footer on specific page, just take the page id – http://screencast.com/t/nee4B9XtwI and use this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css where xxx is your page id:
