Newspaper theme with tagDiv Cloud Fitness Pro template
Issues with mobile (2nd build had to scrap the first one because of tagDiv Mobile + AMP conflicts with TD Composer responsive Fitness Pro Cloud Template.
1. I want to edit in one place.
2. On my first build, I noticed that by installing the recommended tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin, it overwrites the responsive customizations that I made in TD Composer. And even worse, when I installed the AMP plugin from the Newspaper plugins dashboard, it created error codes visible at the footer. Uninstalling did not help. I had to completely uninstall the theme and start everything from the beginning. Not fun.
3. On my 2nd build, I did not install the tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin. I did install AMP.
4. On my 2nd build of thisisfootballin.com using the Fitness Pro Cloud template I customized all formats (desktop viewport, landscape viewport, portrait viewport, mobile viewport) in the TD Composer. I like the visual layout/design aspects of the Fitness Pro template the way it appears in the responsive format (the mobile viewport) when customizing using the TD Composer.
5. In tagDiv Cloud Templates I was able to edit the header with TD Composer for all formats (viewpoints). The same is true for the footer. However, the homepage templates show “Homepage – Fitness Pro” as front page “yes” and mobile template ” – ” beneath this is shows “Home” as an unchecked box for front page and “yes” for Mobile template.
* Homepage – Fitness Pro = https://thisisfootballin.com
* Home = https://thisisfootballin.com/home/
6. When I edit Homepage Fitness Pro in TD Composer it has all viewpoints but says “create mobile page” even though it clearly shows the mobile viewpoint with full customizations and when I open the site on mobile it shows the same as described in #4 above.
7. When I edit Home in TD Composer it brings up a different view of mobile and says “edit mobile page”
I do not want to do all these edits again and I am very confused as to why the mobile viewpoint in Homepage Fitness Pro in TD Composer is not registering as the mobile template under Fitness Pro in the tagDiv Cloud homepage templates.
8. This becomes an issue when in the TD Composer editing Homepage Fitness Pro in the mobile viewpoint. When I tap the menu icon to edit, it opens the preloaded mobile menu from the tagDiv Cloud template “home” and there is no way to edit this that I can find.
9. Also why would I have 2 home pages?
10. Forget even trying to do this is tagDiv Mobile theme plugin…
11. Am I doing this all wrong? I want the speed and ability of the tagDiv mobile + AMP but the design of the mobile viewport found in the TD Composer for Fitness Pro template. The plugin doesn’t offer any of the customizations that are preloaded with the Fitness Pro template.
Hi Calin, this is a lot clearer now, thanks for clarifying. We haven’t changed yet the AMP link structure, but it looks like we will have to.
I have three questions for you off the back of your previous message.
1. If we change the link structure from /amp/ to /?amp=1/ or else, and we Google has re-indexed our AMP pages, does that mean that all old links with /amp/ will be automatically redirecting to the new links with /?amp=1 ?
2. When testing the AMP version on mobile Chrome, I noticed that accent marks are visible in uppercase characters. This isn’t visible when testing on desktop Chrome. Screenshot here, I’ve circled the accent marks for reference -> https://imgur.com/a/qtUe6jA
3. How can I hide the author’s name and date from the AMP article and category page? I’ve selected the option to hide this information through the Mobile Theme settings, but it’s still visible on the Category page and in the related posts under the articles. https://imgur.com/a/qtUe6jA
Of course, all this is assuming we will use the /?amp=1 structure.
Thank you
Hi tassos,
First things first 😀
If I understood correctly, you used another theme and now you have switched to Newspaper, so before you used another amp plugin that was indexed on google with /amp/ Now if you want to use this url format, you will only have to use the amp plugin (mobile theme must be disabled), and amp should be set on the Reader template – https://i.imgur.com/zHqX4I5.png and the url you want. The disadvantage is that you have no control over the layout, but it will work correctly with that structure /amp/.
Now if you want to use the layout from the mobile theme plugin for amp, then the only amp template that can be used is Transitional – https://i.imgur.com/OtM7guR.png using this url format – https://i.imgur.com/N0E7JNz.png (it also work with default one).
Now using this method the problem is that the site must be re-indexed so that the permalink on google is no longer with /amp/ and goes to /?amp to deliver the correct version (so you will have to wait until amp version is reindexed to see the results).
If you want to see how your site would look in the amp version, it can be done by adding the parameter at the end of the url – https://i.imgur.com/JDO0fWg.png – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-amp-plugin-tutorial/
Now, the good part is that if the amp is used with the layout of the mobile theme, the settings on the mobile theme will also apply to the amp version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ (but they will be visible after the site is indexed), also, if the mobile theme plugin is used for pages, you will have to use a separate content set in the mobile editor https://i.imgur.com/RiimVPf.png – https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/
I hope this information helps you and clears up at least some of the things!
Thank you!
Hi
You’re clearly not understanding my problem. Google is crawling the AMP pages fine. But we did ask for another recrawl as you suggested.
The problem is that the actual AMP page, which Google is listing, ending with /amp/ has a terrible layout, which has nothing to do with the layout I’m seeing in the admin panel when I use the /?amp/.
Also, all the changes I’m making through the Mobile Theme option, do not reflect in the AMP pages.
I think you need to escalate this to someone who has the technical knowledge from your team to investigate the issue and figure out a solution.
Let me know if you need me to send an email specifically about this issue.
Regards.
Hello Maria!
Unfortunately, the Mobile theme is not working like that.
We have 3 options for mobile versions that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page.Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.
2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages
3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.
A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you need to use the mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin.
Thank you!
Hi
there is no use sending you link on that. As I hope you know as you are the creator of the mobile theme, the homepage in mobile theme for newspaper is only showing articles. I want to add products from the woocommerce shop on the homepage. How much more clear can this be explained?
Maria
Hi,
I need your help with a few problems and unfortunately I’m totally overwhelmed. I know you don’t support third party vendors other than the ones you specified, but this seems to be a custom page issue. Unfortunately you don’t have an in-house calendar for your great theme.
Problem 1:
I just can’t get the mobile header to work in the mobile version. I use the Event-On calendar. the support writes the following:
—
Are you referring to this guide:
https://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/customize-single-events-page/
Please also note that there is a new version of Single Event Page template you need to use (guide is still referring to EventON 3+). You can find it by going to EventON folder/templates/single-ajde_events.php.
—-
So sieht das dann aus:

Unfortunately, I’m completely overwhelmed with it and I already know that I’ll break more than I could do anything right there. Always using the try and error method
Problem 2:
I changed the color of the login page.
https://www.fehnblogger.de/login-register
When I go to “My Account” at the top, it opens though
https://www.fehnblogger.de/tds-login-register
In the mobile version of the website, nothing is displayed when “Login” is selected. Only an empty page appears, which slides into the picture like the menu.
Problem 3:
The first post in the mobile view is obviously not centered. I have a border on the right, not on the left. I’d like that to be as nice and even as all the other things underneath.
Maybe someone can help here? Unfortunately, I’m not a programmer, but I try my best!
I am trying to run campaign for my site using mobile theme/AMP. However everyone clicking on ad fb, disappear immediately as the frontpage is only blog and not showing shop. How can I feature shop on homepage? I bought 4 pcs of your theme due to shop and fast AMP.
Maria
Hello,
Here is not set the link correctly -> https://i.imgur.com/RgCih4s.png as in our documentation, and that is displayed like that.
You can’t edit the Mobile theme and AMP version with tagdiv Composer; the only settings are from Theme Panel -> Mobile Theme.
1. The color for the menu is this one -> https://i.imgur.com/iI6oIMe.png and you can upload the logo here https://i.imgur.com/txTOvca.png
2. Please provide a screenshot to understand what you are referring to.
3. You can hide them on the posts from here -> https://i.imgur.com/AN90QQz.png and from blocks here -> https://i.imgur.com/MyVATTX.png
4. You translate it from Theme Panel -> Translations-> Translations or you can simply set a space and then will not be displayed.
5. This is the layout for AMP, and the images are displayed.
The mobile+AMP has standard templates, and you can’t customize them.
Please check this topic where I explained each mobile version -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-version-not-working-properly-2/ and choose your mobile version.
Thank you!
Hi, thanks but this isn’t solving the problem. Watch this video recording from a mobile phone and you will be able to see that the AMP version isn’t working well. Link – https://youtu.be/msMl1ltoRZI
Problems on the category page
1. The homepage header is dark and the logo isn’t visible.
2. Uppercase letters have accent marks.
3. Author’s name and date are visible, we don’t want that.
4. The footer shows a random ‘About us’
Problems on articles
1. Primarily, the layout in the /?amp/ preview link looks completely different from the actual AMP version displayed on mobile. See the video I sent above and compare it for yourself – https://www.mamapeinao.gr/makaronada-me-pantzari/?amp=1/
2. The images do not show at all in the AMP version.
3. The header and footer are all weird in the AMP version of the articles. Again, look at the video to see for yourself.
So how do you advise us to resolve these problems? Again, I have the mobile theme but any change I make isn’t visible in the AMP version.

Hello,
Yes, you need to use a custom code css to hide the first module.
For example for Big Grid Flex 9, you can display 5 posts, but you need to hide two modules .
You can use this code for big grid flex 9 .td_block_big_grid_flex_9 .td_module_flex_6
{
display: none;
}
Please set this code in the theme panel > custom code> advance css > phone section and will be applied only on a mobile or if you want to apply also on a desktop only in custom code -> custom css.
Thank you!
Hello,
Unfortunately, the infinite scroll option doesn’t work on mobile theme.
Thank you!
Hello,
You have the mobile theme plugin activated, the mobile theme comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
Better deactivate the plugin and see the results.

Hello,
Please check this guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/social-icons/
The social icons from the mobile menu are coming from the Theme Panel -> Social/Apis -> Social Networks -> https://i.imgur.com/kKYIECB.png remove/edit them after your needs.
Thank you!
Dear Sir,
I used this Newspaper theme on my previous website itinfoworld.org, linkworld.us and answersmode.com but now I have created my website in NodeJS so I removed Newspaper theme from all that website.
Now I want to create a blog name ebankmobile.com and knowledgeworldbd.com But My Purchase code is not working.
Here is a screen Short – https://prnt.sc/s6OAom4TWzmy
Please help me sir.
I just published my website using your theme. The AMP pages used to work fine with the previous theme. Now they don’t look good at all, the images are not showing and the layout is all over the place. Link is https://www.mamapeinao.gr/portokalopita/amp/
I tried to use your mobile theme only for AMP, I followed your instructions from the forum and changed the settings and it made absolutely no difference. None of my changes on the theme panel were applied in the AMP pages.
How can I edit the AMP pages so they look good??
is it possible to enable “infinite scroll” in mobile theme ?
Hello! We have created mobile pages for our main pages, since the theme apparently didn’t have a responsive desktop page to mobile.
But, all pages now appear in the Search.
Ex: Home, Home – Mobile, Suppliers, Suppliers – Mobile.
How do I hide these pages?
Thanks!
Hello,
Yes, you need to use Mobile Theme.
No, you can’t create mobile templates and use them with Amp.
Thank you!
Hi,
when I want to use AMP, I have to use the tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin, correct? I’m wondering if it is possible to create a mobile template via Cloud templates to use that for AMP?
Thanks
Hello Anamaria,
I know about the Mobile/AMP settings via the Theme Panel, but these are very shallow. I want to get closer to the structure of my standard site that I handle via cloud templates. Where/how do I need to modify something for changing the front-end AMP-structure?
Thanks!
Hello @acdcadaptor !
Here you can remove/set a picture for mobile menu background: https://www.screencast.com/t/x3Xrln2b88x
And the background color here: https://www.screencast.com/t/PbU3hQpDqHh
The opacity of the mobile modal can be changed from Theme panel -> Background -> Mobile menu/search background: https://www.screencast.com/t/hcRoHastuO -> https://www.screencast.com/t/SQapAaaiLRwY
Please provide more information about your issue, so I can help you efficiently.
Thank you!
Hello,
The settings for AMP are the same for mobile theme; you can find them in Theme Panel -> Mobile Theme.
Thank you!
