3. That would be true, the mobile theme doesn’t have that many settings. Most elements are predefined, this is why it is lighter. We will add more options in it now that it has also been integrated with the official AMP plugin.
From what I know Google changed the testing method a while back, this is why now the results are quite different when compared to before this algorithm change. I see that render blocking would be the main issue when checking you website with the tool
http://prntscr.com/mw86n1
Maybe try and eliminate or at least optimize in this matter. Try some render blocking plugins for example, there may be other methods.

7. Seems in this case there is also an inline margin left – http://prntscr.com/mw8fd3
Quite unusual. I can give you a code for it, to make it look better
http://prntscr.com/mw8qf6

.td-g-rec-id-content_top .adsbygoogle {
margin-left:auto!important;
}

Looks like the ad does not respect the size it is supposed to appear in for some reason. I see that it is supposed to appear in 300×250 but it does not. What if you try and select that setting in the theme panel for mobile? – http://prntscr.com/mw8s09 let me know.

8. Setting a background color would best be left until the ads display issue is solved. It would appear just on the top and bottom at the moment.

Hi,

Note that in the last version of theme v9.6 the Amp is integrate in mobile theme, so e you’ll need to set the ads in mobile theme, and those will appear in amp too.
How to Make an AMP ready Website with Newspaper Theme -> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/

Also using the integrate AMP you’ll not longer need to use the /amp in url, the amp post/page will be display automatically on posts/page that allow amp version ( the layout of amp will be like on mobile theme )

Please make sure that you activate the amp from mobile theme -> https://www.screencast.com/t/6m5bxthx8ec and you check the box from general Amp -> https://www.screencast.com/t/WEyXhNzY

Thank you!

Hi,

1)Unfortunately, please notice that the Mobile Theme plugin has a certain layout and it cannot be edited with TD Composer, sorry! If you do not like the Mobile Theme layout, you should not enable it and then, the theme will be automatically switched to the general responsive layout which can be created with TD Composer.
2)Unfortunately, the theme only works with Mobile Theme and AMP plugin and therefore, it cannot be changed with TD Composer, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

Besides the fact that you have activated the amp, you also have to activate the mobile theme and then activate the AMP functionality from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/7iyT8SMWnkVB Also, for more information about the functionality of AMP with Mobile Theme, please check the following useful guide from here -> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/

The initial AMP plugin we released was designed based on the first version of the official AMP plugin for WordPress. Even though it was a tagDiv plugin, it still required the API of the official plugin. The changes came from the official plugin as they limited the theme support in the version we used and instead of updating it, they launched a new version with another, better implementation. They also announced the initial release will shortly become deprecated. This is why we decided to abandon our initial AMP plugin and use the new AMP implementation through the mobile theme. The new version required a specific theme for it as it would not have worked through the standard theme. There was no decision to take, unfortunately. If we have not made this step, soon the AMP plugin would have stopped working once the official AMP plugin implementation we used became deprecated.
For more information about this functionality, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

I look forward to helping you!

Thanks for oyur understanding!

Hi,

You can replace the above custom css with this one -> https://www.screencast.com/t/0NHdDin9RGK
.td-post-featured-image amp-img,
.td-post-featured-image img,
.td-mobile-footer-wrap .td-footer-logo,
.td-mobile-footer-wrap .td-footer-wrap .td-footer-description {
display: none!important;
}

This one will hide the feature image the the logo from footer and the about us text.

Thank you!

Hi Calin,

…doing so, the amp page (url/amp/) is displayed only on the desktop, while visiting article from mobile it is redirected to the standard url.

the only way to see the amp pages on mobile is to disable SHOW ON AMP on the mobile plugin, but in this way you will see the page without css.

The problem is common to many users in the forum

Please solve…

Thanks!

Hi,
Again thanks for all the efforts, but you need to keep in mind that most of the sites that use Newspaper theme are actually news and media sites. They have ever-changing content on the home page and you need to test out a better cache plugin compatibility. Wp fastest cache has become old and mundane.
Issues we are facing:
1) We were using Speed Ninja plugin with 9.5 theme, and it was giving us great results in GTmetrix and google speed index. However, with the new 9,6 update, there are compatibility issues on the mobile. The front page only loads and articles do not load or if they load the style sheet is missing and everything looks like plain HTML. Can you please check its compatibility or tell us which other plugins we can use to get back to 90+ level on Google speed index, because we tried your tutorials and super cache, and nothing is working. We have right now disabled the SNP plugin. So that site works at least.
2) With the new amp plugin we are getting over 400 errors in the very first few hours of updating, none of the new articles are showing as AMP.
3) The 3 bar menu from amp is missing.
4) There is no infinite loading on the mobile theme. Since many come from mobile only, we were hoping it will come this time. When can we expect that?
5) How can we minify CSS and javasript? Since WP fastest cache does not do that.
6) The URL is not changing on autoload on the desktop. As soon as we go down to the next story, the article loads but the url does not change. The GA team tells us we are not getting additional page views because of that.
7) We have loaded the AMP code as the tutorial suggests, however we are not seeing any amp views on GA.

Please help.

Now i’m use AMP for WP – Accelerated Mobile Pages. It is very simple to use. the important thing is that as soon as you have activated this plugin, do not activate tagdiv’s AMP and do not activate the theme setting function because the site is blocked

Hi,

Sorry for this, but note that if you keep replying in your own topic before we reply, it will only delay the answer from us. It will refresh the topic date and add it to the bottom of the queue. We answer from oldest to newest.

Regarding the issue, note that what you are describing would be how the mobile theme works. Each page requires two versions, one for desktop created with the composer or in any way possible in the theme, and one for mobile created with the simple mobile editor
http://prntscr.com/mw64sfhttps://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

If the page doesn’t have any content in the mobile editor, and the mobile theme is active, it will be empty on mobile. Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks

Hi,

If you did the steps from our guide the AMP that is integrate on mobile theme will be load automatic on those pages/post that can be display in AMP version, those that are not supported AMP version will be display in mobile version!
If you want to go back to version 9.5 you can write as an email at contact@tagdiv.com, include the link of this topic in email and ask for Newspaper v9.5

Thank you for your understanding!

Hey support team,

I have use custom plugin to edit some modules in original Newspaper theme

like

function hook_td_global_after()
{ //add the api code inside this function
// Update social share module
if ( class_exists('td_api_module') ) {
td_api_module::update('td_module_single',
array(
'file' => $this->plugin_path . "/modules/addthis-social-share.php"
)
);
td_api_module::update('td_module_single_mob',
array(
'file' => $this->plugin_path . "/modules/addthis-social-share-mob.php"
)
);
}
}
add_action('td_global_after', array($this, 'hook_td_global_after'));

So my question is
when I update module td_module_single I have no issues,
but when I start override the mobile theme td_module_single_mob
I see error from Booster

The module already exist!

But i’m not trying add new module I use API to update it :/

perhaps for mobile version I have to use another hook? not td_global_after

After updating to the latest version 9.6 and running through all the AMP and mobile settings as outlined I do not see the same mobile theme on the dedicated home page. What I do see is a list of latest posts?

AMP does not validate on the AMP test page for https://coconutoilpost.com/
Infinite loading is also not working for the templates – 9.5 was working but very slow to load.

Rankings are already dropping. Hope this can be resolved fast.
