Hi,

I would like my menu to be black in the background with white text. When you hover over the menu items or select, the text should turn orange.

I have noticed that there seems to be no option to do this in desktop view but there are menu item hover options in mobile view.

Do you know how I can change the menu in this website to the specifications below?:
black (#000) in the background with white (#FFF) text. When you hover over the menu items or select, the text should turn orange (#ff9d00).

Thank you,
Tracy

Hi,

Actually the thumbnail is bigger, this is simply the design that was decided. If this is required for you you could increase the thumbnail size of the front page grid with a code like this
https://www.screencast.com/t/6oe0SSbxm
This is the code used in the example, if you decide to use it enter it in Theme panel->Mobile theme->Custom CSS

.home .td_module_mob_2 .td-module-thumb,
.home .td_module_mob_2 .td-module-thumb a:last-child {
height: 250px;
}

You can make modifications to it if needed.

Hi,

The black background of the demo will not be inherited by the mobile theme, the mobile version will be different than the desktop version. The mobile theme does not have demos at the moment, coloring it is a similar way will require CSS code. This is a similar topic you can read
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-once-youve-gone-black-youll-never-go-back/

Thanks

Hi,

That has been on our list for a while, hopefully the cache guide will be updated in the near future. From what I know some settings of the plugin have been renamed or moved, that could cause confusion. Sorry for the inconvenience. A similar topic here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/the-caching-setup-section-in-the-manual-is-outdated/

If you use the mobile plugin the cache should work if enabled
https://www.screencast.com/t/OzKXYmQIUkk

That file is not supported through the child theme, all the files are mentioned in the child theme guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Hi,

From what I understood you want to remove the hamburger menu, this one
https://www.screencast.com/t/XbzReczEQrp
Then display the menu items in a different way and position. That will not be easy, since it is not the intended behavior on mobile devices. All the functionality and design is created for the current mobile menu look.

Maybe there will be more options added in the future regarding the mobile menu functionality but for the moment as I said there are no plans from what I know. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,

I had to change the page in the mean time.
But you provided the answer I was looking for for the page menue on mobile.

Thanks a lot

Hi,

@MCord
The first menu item would be this one
https://www.screencast.com/t/uhD3A1FQ
That does not do anything except direct to an empty page from what I can see
https://www.screencast.com/t/hGM7zvtek

A page menu will not be displayed on mobile, ideally one would use the mobile theme for mobile, this provides an option to display a different menu

Hello ljcarrico,

Please notice that the theme should work as expected for any mobile devices because it has been designed to be responsive.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

If you use the mobile theme plugin, then you must create 2 versions of a page. One for desktop and one for mobile. If you are implementing that calendar by a shortcode try entering it in the mobile version of the page. This section is displayed on the bottom of each page edit screen
https://www.screencast.com/t/ltceAchPd
There is a chance that the mobile theme will not display the calendar even if you do this. Then you could consider deactivating the mobile theme in order to display the same content form desktop.
The mobile plugin is optional, there will be no problem once you deactivate it

Thanks

Hi guys,

I have just installed the mobile theme plugin to my website.

My website, uses the black theme demo.

In the mobile theme settings panel, I can’t see an option to make the background color black – as is my normal theme.

This make my normal theme to be black and my mobile theme white.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Maybe a CSS Code?

Another question, does the plugin cache the mobile site or does it bypass it? I made some changes to the footer and I saw them reflect in the mobile site without clearing cache and this made me wonder if the mobile theme is cached.

Hi,
I’m having the same problem.

This specific case happens when creating a page menu (as specified here https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-menu/)

It works perfectly fine on desktop: when clicking on the menu item, the page is shown as menu.

However, when on mobile, I click on the menu item and nothing happens (because of the # on the item link).

Please have a look here: https://author.thebusylifestyle.com/ (first menu item)
Compare the behaviour on desktop and on mobile.
On desktop – OK
On Mobile nothing happens – Not Ok.

I hope this helps clarify the issue

Hello – our site is pulling up the mobile theme on Chromebook laptops vs the regular theme. Any ideas on how to force it to pull us the regular site?

Hi,

@fathummus
We could take a look, please provide a link to a post on your website. Note that there are socials that will appear only on mobile, for desktop they will not be visible.

Thanks

Hello Rhys,

Please notice that we have not tested our theme on Google Pixel Book, sorry! The main functionality for mobile should be applied to this device…for one tap should open a menu dropdown and for double tap, you should be redirected to that category. That’s the functionality for tablets.

Thanks for your understanding!

From all the menu items I tested, currently only this one does nothing on desktop or mobile from what I can see
https://www.screencast.com/t/r7OoEO6dXl
If the menu items work properly when the plugin is disabled then the plugin would be causing the issues.

Or maybe I am misunderstanding the actual problem here, please mention what exactly I should test to see the problem.

No, that menu is create you your theme. When the theme switch to mobile version the menu automatically has a # as link so it reloads the entire page…

Guys, can i change the height of the featured images for mobile (tablet) view?

as you can see they are quite compressed. I am using Big Grid 4 for this specific block.

btw on phone and desktop they look great!

Hi,

I don’t know about that or what plugin you are referring to, maybe try it and see what happens if it is recommended by the plugin author.

The only issues I see with the menu on your website would be these items
https://www.screencast.com/t/hDYVbTPdLSR1
Those do not do anything on desktop, so they will not do anything on mobile. If those are pages add them as pages
https://www.screencast.com/t/jp0WRMPX
If they are categories add them as categories, same for custom links (enter valid URLs).
If you add the menu items like this they will be used properly by the website users. Currently from what I can see they do not do anything.
