Worry about the render blocking after doing some of the easier things: cache, CDN, minify …

Content and page load speed are far more important than Google’s recommendations in Insight. It’ll also depend on where you get your traffic – some of the best sites are not perfect in Insight

Examples

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=www.techmeme.com&tab=mobile

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.washingtonpost.com%2F

https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.huffingtonpost.com%2F&tab=mobile

In other words — content first, responding to visitors second, webdesign optimization to the point it isn’t a distraction for your visitors.

Good luck on your site – it loads fine. It’s heavy so you can lighten it with removing grid blocks or keep it as is … and enjoy things 🙂

Will it be possible for you to add a new serting in plugin menu to show ads above Next-Previous button in mobile view?

The plugin already have an option to show ads above content in smartlist and an ad spot after content will be useful for many! ☺

Hi,

Are you sure you applied every step from our guide?
1) Leverage browser caching: http://screencast.com/t/6D9hVHoTwj- http://screencast.com/t/73POoNuNMn
2) Improve server response time: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/Server
3) Render blocking javascript and css: http://screencast.com/t/ilbp7Ug6XL
Please check to see if speedbooster is active after you enable it and follow this topic to learn about speedbooster’s compatibility list for other plugins: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
Also please try to disable any untested plugins. as plugins could also slow your site down.
4)image optimization: http://screencast.com/t/FByp3GN4UkThttp://screencast.com/t/aSJkSNAnRn

Nopne of the things I mentioned here are not done properly as they are still detected by google. please follow each step of the tutoprial proiperly and your tet results will increase. Here is what the theme will score if they are set properly: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=demo.tagdiv.com%2Fnewspaper&tab=mobile

You just need to improve your site a bit further.
Thank you!

Hello,

It seems the text is not translated fully in mobile version

https://gyazo.com/ede5de367586e9233c4c9a148fd2b741

In desktop version it is totally fine. Can you please advise how to translate it?

Hi,
Unfortunately the theme has no such options so that will not be an easy task as the blocks must be changed and conditions added to them to exclude the specific category only for mobile phones. You can replicate this method to apply to your blocks on the homepage if you have the proper coding skills: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/exclude-specific-category-from-big-grid-on-category-pages-and-mega-menu/
Thank you!

Hi,
Also if your ads were placed in the ads section they will not show up on the mobile theme. You have to place the ads for the mobile theme in the mobile theme panel at the bottom of the standard panel under plugins’ settings. There you will see the mobile ads section.
Thank you!

Hi,
That is no error, but a simple warning that lets you know you use the !important tag. This can be ignored. Please add the code in the theme panel->mobile theme->custom css box and click the save button http://screencast.com/t/LhHu73MJC4PZ.
Thank you!

Hello tagDiv team,

I’d like to keep one particular category from appearing on my mobile homepage – I use this category to publish in Portuguese, and I’m afraid having those stories in the mobile homepage postlist may be a bit confusing for my U.S. readers. Would it be possible to accomplish that with a php tweak?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
If you do not use the mobile theme, it can be activated from here: http://screencast.com/t/dICQvvXgVZ
The mobile theme does not use infinite loading nor visual composer or other visual effects in order to reduce loading times. You must use the standard responsive version for this
Thank you!

Hi,

If you want to remove the ads on mobile, you can do it 2 ways. You can either use the mobile theme and not set any ads for it (only available in nespaper7): https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Or you can use css to hide them (adsense will still detect hidden ads, but the viewer will not be able to see it)
You can use this code:
@media(max-width:767px){
.page .td-g-rec{
display:none!important
}}

This will remove all ads on pages on mobile

Thanks.

Love this theme! As a thank you, here’s some custom code. Sure there are better ways, but I don’t know them. 🙂 I spent last night coding this out, and I figure some others might have the same request. I’m running WordPress MU and wanted to share a menu with all the sites, but I didn’t want to manually enter each in. The code will pull the contents from the top menu into the mobile menu.

//// TO MAKE MENU APPEND TO MOBILE RESPONSIVE MENU. ONLY TOP LEVEL LINKS /////

Custom CSS – Enter into Theme Options -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS

@media (max-width: 767px)
{
/* Hide Dropdowns */
#menu-top-bar li ul {
display: none !important;
visibility: none;
}

/* Hide Down Icon */
#menu-top-bar .td-icon-menu-down {
display: none;
}

.top-header-menu li {
display: list-item;
}
}

CUSTOM JAVACSRIPT – Enter into Theme Options -> Custom Code -> Custom Javascript

jQuery(function() {
var content = jQuery(".menu-top-container").contents(); //GET TOP MENU CONTENT
jQuery(".td-mobile-content").append("<hr />"); // THIS JUST ADDS A DEVIDER
jQuery(".td-mobile-content").append(content.clone()); //clone to contents (so it won't be reomoved from original element) and move element into menu
});

That’s it. 🙂 Below are a few more options.

/// THESE ARE OPTIONS THAT DON’T PULL THE CODE INTO THE MOBILE MENU, BUT DISPLAY IT AT THE TOP.

CSS TO MAKE TOP MENU (ONLY) SHOW UP ABOVE THE CONTENT IN MOBILE MODE (newspaper 7). This one has the links side by side with drop downs..

@media (max-width: 767px)
{

.td-header-sp-top-menu {
display: block !important;
}

.td-header-top-menu-full {
display: block;
}

#menu-top-bar {
padding: 0 0 0 40px !important;
}
}

CSS TO MAKE TOP MENU (ONLY) SHOW UP ABOVE THE CONTENT IN MOBILE MODE (newspaper 7). This one removes dropdowns and stacks the links.

@media (max-width: 767px)
{

.td-header-sp-top-menu {
display: block !important;
}

.td-header-top-menu-full {
display: block;
}

#menu-top-bar {
padding: 0 0 0 40px !important;

}

#menu-top-bar li ul {
display: none !important;
visibility: none;
}

#menu-top-bar .td-icon-menu-down {
display: none;
}

.menu-top-container {
margin-right: 0px;
}

.top-header-menu li {
display: list-item;
position: relative;
margin-left: 0;
/* background-color: #dcdcdc; */
border-bottom: .5px solid;
padding-left: 10px;

}

#menu-top-bar {
padding: 0 0 0 0px !important;
min-width: 400px;
}

.td-header-top-menu {
padding: 0px;
}

}

Can we implement infinite load in Category page in mobile? If yes, how to do it?

Bintmusic

Hi Bogdan

probably is a wordpress problem, but with the new mobile theme version pagination is also in home and google notices.

to avoid duplication i think must add %%pagenumber%%% in yoast home title and description,
if you doesn’t have a better solution …

thanks
