Please ensure that your theme was correctly installed via FTP way, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/, check all the system status requirements from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/ Also, remove all of the untested plugins which might interact with the theme core files, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results. Unfortunately, the events plugin has not been tested with our theme and therefore, we cannot say for sure if it will work or not as expected with the theme, sorry! Also, we cannot provide support for untested plugins.

The shortcode should be set in column textlike this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/5Owaghye also depend on the shortcode, maybe the tagDiv Composer can not recognizes it, please make sure that you shortcode is working, and there is no conflict wit column text ( check to see if this is working by setting some text inside the wp editor ).

Most of the theme files were moved into the tagdiv composer plugin as per the requirements of envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements.
We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css as there are very few files left in the main theme as envato requires all functionality to be added through plugins.

There is only one inline ad spot provided by the theme. I believe there are plans to add more in a coming theme update. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The theme file structure has changed starting from update 9.7. Now it is compliant with the new Envato theme requirements – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/

The js the theme uses is now in the composer file – http://prntscr.com/o18qfm you could enter the code you want there.

This is is not working anymore because you make update to WordPress to the last version, you need to downgrade the WordPress version.

Also you can make update to the theme, but notice that will be a big differance from Newspaper v6.6.5 to Newspaper v9.7.3, I suggest you to make a full backup to your website and try the update on localhost or on subdomain.
