Hi,
Now I am using Newspaper 8.1. And I got something problem on my wordpress.
For example, I can’t set the eye-catching images on my post page and I can’t add images to my media library.
If I press the button to add img, it said “The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2017/08.”
Regarding some images I used to add in my library, it just can’t set the images.
And also, When I update some plugins, it said “Could not create output directory “.
I really don’t know what is going on my wordpress and a cause of these problems.
I’m sorry for my poor explanation.
We need the tabs as we had them in Visual Composer!!!!!!!!!! Lot’s of cool things can be build with the tabs, right now with them missing – we don’t offer lots of features to our clients!
I checked and modified the names. Now they are the same, but the WordPress still sees this child theme as a broken theme.
So after I downloaded your theme from envato.com, the only modification that I made before upload is changed the uppercase “N” to lowercase “n”, and I can’t activate the child theme. I use a fresh website, fresh WordPress database, I don’t have posts, plugins or anything yet. What else can I do? Should I wait for an update?

I will need to get from Newspaper 4 to Newspaper the newest version.
What are the best steps to do that?
1. Remove old Theme
2. Install the new Theme
3. Update the plugins
4. Recreat the landing page with the new Composer (can I use the old page for this?)
5. Using auto updates for the future
I’m using some recipe Plugins – will the content be lost if I do remove the theme and install the new one?
Anything else I should keep in mind?

Wait! The TD Composer spontaneously started working this afternoon (US Eastern Time)!!! Maybe a Windows 10 update is responsible?

Sorry for the inconvenience. I have removed the functions.php and updated with the new one via filezilla and I have now gone to appearance -> editor, and pasted all the code from latest functions.php file to old one and I’m still having no luck. is there any chance you can teamviewer me and possibly help with sorting this out please and show what I’m doing wrong.

Hi,
I setup the site and then got the message to enter my purchase code. I did that and it confirmed me. However i noticed on themeforest that there is a new 4.0 version that is out. My site did not get updation request so i have no way to update it to 4. Please guide how i can update it to the latest version ?
I am stuck on an older version of the theme.
P.S. All was working well prior to the 8.1 theme update.

Hello Simion,
When I attempt to edit a page using the TD Composer, I get a blank screen.
I’ll try the classic deactivating all other plugins, enabling them one by one to see if there is a conflict. The thing is, everything was working just fine previously. Guess there could have been an update that broke things?
I’ll follow up with more information after looking at all the plugins. My system status seems to be in compliance with theme documentation.

1. The theme is based on a three column layout, that is how the all the blocks are designed as well. Here you can see how all the blocks look in different layouts

There are blocks that can display more modules per columns for example

2. It could be possible, but I cannot say for sure. On pages using the tagDiv composer you can achieve full width results, but not a user defined width. That could only be done with theme modifications or custom code.
We try to implement more and more options and features with each update, and the list of suggestions and user recommendations is increasing daily. It is hard for the developer team to decide what gets introduced as soon as possible and what gets delayed.

In some cases having both the editors active can cause problems. If you are using Visual composer for your website, deactivate the tagDiv composer.
The tagDiv editor is activated by default when the theme is installed or updated

We have been trying to update the theme to the latest version (4.0) by using the Envato plugin.
After creating a token, entering ID’s etc. we simply can not click on the “update theme” button which allows us to update from 3.3 to 4.0.
We would then try to update via wordpress, but since we are using a child-theme we are worried about it would have any influence on the styling?

This is unusual indeed. The problem is only on that specific post, I could not find others in this situation. If a plugin is not responsible and you have no custom code in the theme panel or added directly to the theme files, then everything should work properly.
You could try a theme re-install by FTP, if possible

Consider making a backup before, just to be safe.
There does not seem to be anything specific on that post, that could be causing this.

AFTER WE UPDATED NEWSPAPER TO THE LATEST VERSION, THE RESPONSIVE OPTION DOSEN’T WORK. ALL THE CONTENT BOTH IN PC AND MOBILE SHOW UP WHIHE SOME OF THEM SHOULD BE HIDDEN IN ONE END.
THEN WE THOUGHT YOU MIGHT BE SOME BUGS IN THE NEW VERSION, SO THAT WE TURN IT BACK TO THE OLD VERSION BUT THE PROBLEM STILL THERE.

I have noticed the opacity in “td-business-home-row” css is not working in latest version of the template. Due to this, I am unable to update my theme.

I tend to use the ‘best solution’ for our systems so we don’t have wonky breakdowns during funky free plugin updates. The Automattic version is running on the VIP sites like Time Magazine, etc., so they have incentive to update it for their cash cows. 🙂 SO, in our case the Automattic version is best choice for us.
