Hi there I am running Newspaper Version 6.6.3. My Installatron automatically updated Visusal Composer, but it was not loading. The website was unaffected but I wanted to adjust the frontpage.
Today I needed to change the frontpage. So I downloaded the latest newspaper package so I could re-install the visual composer manually. When I went to plugins and disabled wp bakery visual composer the website displayed error 500. Now the entire website has crashed.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
I have root access so httpd log:

I already renamed the js_composer directory to .js_composer to effectively disable it. I also reverted to PHP 5.6 legacy mode instead of PHP 7.0. So far no joy.
Hello mahemaru,
The new styles for our Social Counter might be found only in the latest update because this is an improvement which has Newspaper 7. So, please ensure that you have the latest version of the theme, otherwise, please update it according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ (only through FTP because this is the surest method for updating) and then, you when you customize your Social Counter from your backend, you will see these types of design, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/FZ1TXsGy1 For more information about Social Counter, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/

Hello!
I have recently updated to Newspaper 7.1. I do not like how the mobile theme works so I am intending to keep on using the usual responsive design from Newspaper 6. I have noticed one issue though. The search feature does not work on mobile anymore. http://surfa.se/
Previously the search field appeared when you clicked the search icon but now the page zooms out and the search field never appear. Am I doing something wrong?
Sincerely Joel
Thank you. Does it mean I would need to change that code after every them update?
Hi,
I’m sorry, but since i update, everything goes wrong.
I do everything you say, i use se second choice for the columns, disable all the plugins except visual composer, clear the cache, remove all my custom css, and i’m not using CDN files.
And nothing change.
I try everything on the back office, just put block with visual composer, and try template too.
Anything are brocken. I don’t understand, I need to make this site for a client for the end of the week, last dead-line, and now i don’t know what to do.
You can see it online here.

Please help.
Thanks in advanced
Hi
We certainly plan to extend the theme features in the future updates. I’ve added your suggestion on our list and when the time comes our developers will consider it. This may take some time because we have a long implementation list and we take them one by one.
Thanks for your suggestion, have a nice day.
Hello mabrell,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1) and also, all of the required plugins are updated as properly ->Visula Composer ->4.11.2, Social Counter 4.0.
Also, please ensure that your parameters are increased to be higher, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Please check this topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-settings/ because there was discussed this problem about Wordfence plugin. If you have the Wordfence plugin, please disable it or set it according to workaround that was explained in that topic by Bryson T.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for your understanding!
I’ve updated to the latest version of Newspaper to 7.1 and Visual Composer Version to 4.11.2 but Visual composer is still not loading when I click to add element or choose other templates. I’ve clear cache already.

Dear Caltalin
I choose option B to update my theme by using Envato Toolkit.
And I already added my Username and the API Key that I generated from your account in the required fields.
When I click on Envato Toolkit => I see only Setting Tap. I didn’t see the themes Tap like picture you show me.
So how can I update my themes by using Option B?
what should i do to make my Envato Toolkit show to themes tap to update my theme.
Thank you in advance for your clearly support.

custom code added in the panel spots will not be lost?how for childtheme update??
Hi,
It depends on the modification actually. If you edited the theme files, this modification will be lost if you do not back it up. Theme files get replaced on an update. You must create a back-up of your modifications and then re-apply them to the new theme files. There is no update proof way of altering the theme files unfortunately. Not even a child theme is update proof. Any modifications that is made on the theme code will be lost. Settings from the theme panel or custom code added in the panel spots will not be lost as they are kept in the database.
Thank you!
I have same issue and already updated theme, plugins and clear all cache but still not working.
Hi,
This issue was created by the new version of wordpress. Please update your theme to the latest version by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
and very important: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Make sure you clear your cache and reset cdn files afterwards.
Also update the social counter plugin as the old one will not work with newspaper 7
Thank you!

Hello all,
Regarding on our Instagram, we have done a lot of investigations and it seems to be an issue with this social. Please try to add the following code in the certain file in order to achieve best results in this regard.
http://screencast.com/t/1uadSUobBXh and the code you will found here -> http://pastebin.com/uaN3RA4w
Also, please notice that in the next update we will include this fix, as soon as possible.
Thanks for your understanding!
When I update WordPress for the latest versions, all images on the website disappear. Everything works ok, excepts that.
What’s happening?
Hi,
I have inspected your site but could not find any issues. This usually happens after a major update as the style.css gets cached wither from a plugin, a cdn server or hosting. You have to clear all caches or wait for them to clear themselves as all caches have a reset timer. Plugins can also cause this so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.
Thank you!
Hello livingtosmile,
Please notice that our recommendation, in this case, is to make your update only via FTP because this is the surest method for updating. For more information about theme updating, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thanks.
Hello justmevalthemar,
I suppose that you are using the Newspaper 4.5 version, right? Please notice that the latest version of our theme is Newspaper 7 that come bundled with the all required plugins (Visual Composer ->4.11.2, Social Counter 4.0). I suppose that you are using the latest version of WordPress (4.5.2) and please notice that the version 4.5 of the theme are not tested with this. I recommend you to update your theme to the latest version. Please follow the steps below in order to achieve best results in this regard.
In order to update from newspaper 6, you need to delete the old theme altogether and copy over the new theme via FTP. Then simply run the update script from the welcome screen: http://screencast.com/t/NXxqfbe4T
Before the update make sure you do a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.
The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Please note that old files customization or custom css will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust or re-add them.
You will have to re-apply a few settings though as some elements change their order and number such as blocks or post templates so a post template from newspaper 4 for example post style 3, will not be post style 3 anymore but a different number.
You will only have to allow a half hour to restore your site to it’s previous setup.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi
Unfortunately we can’t provide a solution for the moment as current implementation for theme’s grid does not allow displaying a list of submenus longer then page height.
We will change this implementation in next theme update but for the moment a solution would be to add some content on the page so its height to be higher.
Thanks!

Hello songhy,
Please try to update your theme to the latest version of it because this type of problem has been solved in the latest version. Before doing an update, please try to make a full backup to your data and then please try to update your theme only via FTP according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also, you can check this link here -> http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609 (scroll down on the bottom of the page) because there you will find our changelog and what type of problems will be solved in our last updates.
