One thing you can do, too … is make full backup of dbase at server level; make full backup of site via FTP.
Run the update on WooCommerce, then check to see if any theme files need to be manually updated for new hooks in the Newspaper/woocommerce (or wherever that is) folder. It will tell you if something changed on the status report screen in WooC.
If you can’t get it to work, then simply “roll back” your version of WooCommerce from the backup you took via FTP. Any problems with that, then resurrect the mysql dbase from backup.
I will be doing this Saturday on our site, to see what happens 😉
Hello! There are three minor tweaks I would like to make to the header when viewed on mobile devices:
1) How can I change the menu icon (9 small squares) to the more standard 3 line icon? Is there an image file I need to update? Or is this done through code?
2) How can I increase the overall height of the header? My logo looks too small.
3) How do I change the header background colour? Sorry if it’s in the theme panel, but I cannot find it.

Thank you for the response.
I was referring to the title meta tag in the header section of my site. As I pointed out before, the title in the URL bar is being updated fine.
I am using a plugin for pagination. Not sure if your theme is responsible for this change or if the plugin is.

If you click on the next button, that’s when the issue I’m having comes into play. I’m getting duplicate content warnings because of this and would like to correct this ASAP.

Unfortunately we have not tested new versions of the plugin with the old version of our website. You will have to test it on your won with a bit of trial and error. The best thing to do is update your theme as soon as possible so you can benefit from the updated content and compatibility.

This is a problem related with the latest update of WordPress but we fix it in the current version of the theme available on themeforest, V 2.3.5. Try to update the theme at the latest version: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.

In order to have a lighter CSS file, do I risk much by removing header styles and block styles not used in my website ? I’ll check at every update to remove the same “generic styles” that won’t be used. Do you believe this is a good idea ?

just saw that there is an update to Woocommerce 2.5. It’s mentioned there that I should check, if my theme is compatible to this new version. So that’s my question: As I still use Newspaper version 4.6.3, is this compatible to Woocommerce 2.5? I can’t change to Newspaper 6 for the next months, but will do so in summer.

Thank you for your for your interest in our theme.
Since it launched the theme until now, our updates have not affected the structure of the blocks and also was not eliminated any block but also new ones were added in the theme. You can stay assured that in future updates will not change this part with blocks. Practically the blocks/modules occupy an important part of the theme.

I am trying to figure out how to make all links in a post clickable without having to make each one a link with the link icon in the editor. Similar to the function make_clickable ( string $text ).
Is there a setting in the theme for this? Or do I need to update/modify the loop-single.php file in a child theme or something similar?

Hi guys,
I noticed that when I create a post with paginated articles the page title is not updated when I click on the next/previous post.
For example, the URL does change to something like dogs-ready-for-summer/2/…dogs-ready-for-summer/n/. However, the Page title remains as “11 Dogs Ready for Summer” instead of “11 Dogs Ready for Summer – Page n” or something like that.
Is there any way you guys can help me with this? Thanks in advance.

Am rezolvat problema, nu stiam ca de fiecare data cand imi vine pe mail un nou update al themei sa il si urc pe site, credeam ca se updateaza automat sau imi vine in wordspress, acum am inteles :), Mai ai o problema, counterul de la facebook din footer nu functioneaza, apare 0 si este asa de o luna ca am vazut pe un alt topic ca ar trebui sa astept.. dar cred ca astept degeaba 🙂

But don seem to find the folder where the plugins are
“Step 7 – Update the plugins. The theme required and recommended plugins are included in the theme package inside the ../Newspaper-tf/plugins folder.”

1) Unfortunately if you have custom modifications made to the code/theme files, this will be lost in the process. Other settings that were not hard-coded are kept in the database so they will not be lost.
2) We cannot offer any freelance services at the moment nor can we recommend any good developers. We usually recommend freelancers from envato: (studio.envato.com)
3) You can use a child theme if you plan on making custom modifications. That will save you the customization for a few updates. Unfortunately if the file you modify will be changed in an update, you will have to remake your customization. We recommend keeping track of your modifications and backing them up in a separate file so if you need to remake them , you can simply copy the code over.

Hi this is what my server is telling me, i already reinstalled from cero and erase all the cookies nothing is working “I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I was able to duplicate your issue. I have checked your website in Firebug and noticed that the URL’s are associated with http://array/ . I have tried replacing it with Search and Replace plugin, but it didn’t work. The issue is with your theme. Please contact the vendor of the theme and update the URL from http://array/ to http://www.tierrapermanente.com/ ”

Unfortunately this issue was caused by wordpress 4.4.1 There is a fix for it but I’m afraid it will not work on Newspaper 4. Please update your theme to the latest version following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ so you can benefit from the new features of newspaper and also the fixes for any incompatibility issues.

2) I suspect this issues it might be caused by conflicting plugins. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the plugins in conflict.
3),4) Unfortunately, our theme does not have such option. Please try to search some plugins with these functionalities and test it on your side and see how it works for you or you can hire a freelancer/developer to implement these functionalities in our theme because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!
5) Please make sure you have these requirements before further investigation is required:
a) Please make sure you have the latest theme version: 6.6.4. If not, you need to follow this guide to update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
b) Having the latest version of the theme is not enough if you do not update the social counter as well. You need to remove the current version you use: http://screencast.com/t/4jvRwNzK and then install the version of the plugin that comes with the 6.6.4 theme: http://screencast.com/t/9AKKURjTjX
You can recognize if you have the correct version of the plugin when you see the new app key settings: http://screencast.com/t/CIXxklBanNl If you do not have these settings in your social counter it means you do not have the correct version.
c)You need to follow this guide to get the requirements from facebook:

Please keep in mind that the social counter is not a live count. It will update once every few hours. Please try with other Facebook Id, as example cocacola or envato and see how it works.
Once you followed all the above steps properly and made sure you have not missed anything, (and the social counter still does not work), then you can send an email to contact@tagdiv.com with your login information so we can further inspect the issue.

I have tested on my side and everything seems to work as expected…these problems might be caused by some plugins which interfere with lazy load feature from our theme.
