Hello !
We are sorry for the inconvenience !
You mean to add spacing like this example: https://www.screencast.com/t/37XGDB34dkBq ?
If so, please re-edit your page in Mobile editor and see if the problem fixes.
The Mobile Theme had no changes within the last update. You can also check to see if the new version conflicts with your plugins.
If you have done all this and the issue is still there. Please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thank you !
I’m using the Newspaper theme with the mobile theme. On my mobile pages many of my white spaces and breaks in the text are gone and now all the pages are messed up. I think it happend on the last update. One example: https://bit.ly/2YxKmlH
Please let me know how to fix this.
Hello !
We are sorry for your inconvenience !
It is mandatory to delete all what was left from the older version before intalling this update. Overwriting the files would cause a lot of problems and maybe you’ve missed something while deleting the old files. Please check the plugins to be deleted too ?
Also take a look at our documentation about installing the theme and plugins: https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-plugins-and-update-plugins/ ; https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-newspaper-theme/
Thank you !
Hi,
When I try to install the latest updated version of Newspaper Theme I get an error as follows:
Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…
Destination folder already exists. /home1/longtak0/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/
Theme installation failed.
What should I do to resolve this?
And why, given this is a version upgrade, is the existence of a destination folder a problem?
Ohhh, I see, I have to manually update your plugins!?
That makes sense. Sorry to bother you
Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I can’t say at this point when or if this will be available. Remains to be seen. Hopefully in a future update it will be possible, our developer team will try to find a solution.
Thanks
Hi @jamonkey,
Please make sure that the theme was install/update correctly and all the theme requirements are set as in our guide from here.
Also please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.
Let me know the results!
Thank you!
Hi,
The modules are not intended to display taxonomies, only categories will be displayed as tags. A modification like this would not be simple, and require a lot of testing for multiple situations. If there was a simple solution I would happily give it to you. Maybe this option will be available by default in future theme updates, but I cannot say for sure.

Hello !
Sorry for missunderstanding your issue. Plese take a look at this topic regarding the same matter: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cannot-change-the-block-title-h4-in-h2-after-newspaper-9-7-update/ You will have to get into the code and edit it.
Thank you !
Hello Simion,
Thanks for your reply !!
Yes please add this to the future updates so we can customize site as per our requirements. Can there be a quick release sent out so we can move ahead with the changes. Or can you get us files we need to change to make changes to use booster files via child theme.
Thanks.
Hi there,
I noticed after the update my smart sidebar is not showing on POSTS even when it’s toggled “on” for sitewide options.
Thanks!
Hi there,
I’m trying to set featured images on Pages but they refuse to show up. Featured images work just fine in Posts.
What am I missing?
Newspaper is updated to the latest version: 9.8
Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to help.
I added the 256mb memory define in wp-config file.
Does it matter where in the wp-config file it goes?
checked the debug line was correct
Assume that the other settings are OK as the current version works OK, it’s just upgrading that’s the problem
Deleted the old theme
Cleared the cache in Chrome
Tried to install update but got the same message
‘The link you followed has expired.’
I’m not sure what you mean by a test page.
There is no option to activate the theme.
In the status for the old version it shows a registration key, with an option to re-set, but not sure what that would do.
Re-installed my backup copy to get back to where I was at the start.
Not sure what to do next.
By the way I have deleted the Newspaper theme from the current live site, so there is only one active copy now working on the local host. Just cannot seem to update it.
Any suggestions?
When updated, it seems that the elements for single image and column text have disappeared from the tagdiv composer. This is making it impossible to interact with the elements on the front end and back end. I cannot edit the spots that were images or the areas that were column text.
Can you tell me why certain elements have disappeared from the composer menu? My sidebars and some of my full pages were built using single images and column text and I have had to delete those pages because they were non-responsive.
I really need assistance with this please.
Thanks!
Thank you for the valuable feedback, much appreciated. The theme plugins should deactivate themselves automatically after the theme is updated (by any means), and there should be an update buttons for each of them in the theme plugins panel – https://prnt.sc/omf9g5
I will add this on our testing list and we will investigate the update by Envato plugin. If there are problems we will solve them if possible. or as you say add this case in the update documentation.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Hello,
just updated from 9.74 to 9.8 without problems and deleted loop-single and single files in child-theme folder.
Everything works as expected and error is fixed. Thank you!
I’ve resolved this. However, before I reveal how so others will have the information should they be using the Envato plugin for updating their Newspaper theme, let me respond to your points above.
1. As stated, the tagDiv Composer is/was active while experiencing the issue.
2. We do/did have a Theme Panel while experiencing the issue.
3. The Newspaper theme was purchased in mid July 2019, well after the v9.7 upgrade came out. I’m speaking now of upgrading to v9.8 via Envato plugin.
4. We were/are NOT using a child theme.
5. We were/are in a development environment to begin with for the purpose of rebuilding the site and installing this theme on a clean install.
I reasoned through this to get it resolved. When using the Envato plugin to install the theme the tagDiv Composer and other required plugins do NOT get updated and stay active in their old versions.
To resolve this requires deactivating the required plugins first, then updating, then when you go to re-activate the required plugins the “Activate” button has turned into an “Update” button. By updating the plugins, then activating them, the site returns to what it was prior to the update.
I did not see any information at all about this in your update advisory except that you had to update the plugins. However, if you are using the Envato plugin to run your updates instead of doing them manually and you do not do what I just outlined it appears the plugins have been updated because there is NO indication they haven’t been.
I would therefore suggest that you add a note in your update advisories along these lines for people using the Envato plugin to do updates… which by the way makes updating MUCH easier.
Hi,
The child theme has been improved in update 9.8 and will be improved further where possible. Sorry again for the previous issue, now it should work fine.
Hello !
The Revolution slider is not made by us. We included in our Newspaper Theme because we found it helpfull for our users. Unfortunately we cannot do anything about it since it is not in our hands.
Please make sure that you have followed all the steps of the instalation process you found here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/ ; https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2
Thank you !
Hi,
Yes, you can modify the single.php file from wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/single.php but this changes will be lost when you’ll make a theme update.
-> http://prntscr.com/ombev5
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
For mobile theme you’ll need to make those settings in wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/header.php hoe this will help you!
We made a note for this requirement, hope this will be include in coming updates!
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
That was an important update for the theme. There were changes to the file structure, as most of the theme files were moved in the composer plugin. Now the tagDiv composer has to be active at all times in order to maintain the same functionality. There won’t even be a theme panel without the composer active.
All the theme panel settings, custom codes, ad codes entered in the theme panel are saved in the database of the website, they will be there after updating.
We recommend where possible to test the update from older theme versions (pre 9.7) to the latest version, in a development environment, like a copy of the website. This way it is safer, to see what happens and identify possible issues. There are duplicator plugins that can create a copy of the website.
If you use a child theme, this will have to be remade using the child theme provided in the latest theme package
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Please let us know if you have more questions.
Thanks
I’ve read your info here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/important-new-update-newspaper-9-7/ This does not seem to address our problem because we used the Envato plugin to update the theme to v9.8 and we had the tagDiv Composer and other plugins already activated and they remained so after the update.
However, when we update we lose all the settings we had that styled the theme previous to update. The logo settings, accent color etc etc are all gone.
The only way I can get them back is to restore the backup made prior to updating.
We obviously want to keep the theme updated for security purposes but this problem has to be resolved in order to do so.
Please help.
Hi,
It seems that you still haven’t improved the language management with your last update and so I made the modifications by myself following Simion’s instructions: https://prnt.sc/nud6ha
BUT, I just noticed that this modification doesn’t work for mobiles: https://ibb.co/3kK5XnJ
Can you kindly help?
It would really be wonderful if you could provide this improvement in the next update so we won’t have to modify the code of your files at every update…
Thanks
