Hi,

That may happen if you use old WordPress versions or old theme versions. Please try and scan the website, database etc for malware if there such a problem

Hi,

Please update the theme to the latest version of it which is Newspaper 9.2.2 via FTP way, clear all the caches, purge CDEN files and check the results.

Hi,

Should be no problems, most issues that have been reported in the theme were fixed, the others will be fixed. Since the initial 9.2 theme update when support for WordPress 5 was implemented in the theme, there were a couple of additional updates fixing various issues. WordPress also released some minor updates.

I had the same issue after the last update, and I went (via FTP) and downloaded the plugin from the Newspaper theme Newspaper>Includes>Plugins and uploaded like normal and it worked for me. I’m not sure if it’s happening because of leaving the plugins active while updating the theme? But next time I’ll try deactivating them first before installing the theme update.

Hi,

I finally updated the Newspaper theme from 8 to the latest. I used the Envato Theme to do it. However, when it updated, the website broke and I had to change it in the File Manager to “Newspaper_old” and then reinstall. It worked but I lost all my custom CSS code which took care of ads, images, and logo.

For instance, I have a client that runs a 728×90 on the Top Article placement. It gets cut off now. I was also running a custom Wallpaper ad that utilizes two rails on both sides.

1. Is there a place where I can find the old code?
2. If not, is there a way I can input a custom CSS code for the Top article ad to run outside the container?
3. I want to make my logo larger and I use Header 3. I don’t want to use the full size version. I just want it slightly larger. Any custom code for that?

Is there some kind of change log we can refer to so that we can see at a glance what has changed between updates to the theme? E.g. from 9.1 to 9.2.2? I searched for something like it but didn’t find anything :/…

Disabling all plugins, the problem does not solve. On the site everything is updated to the latest versions. Categories are displayed in the menu, only in the classic editor. Thank.

Simon,

I am sending you the credentials to login to the FTP and admin tool. The admin-ajax.php file is read only and GODaddy.com cannot change these permissions for security purposes. The files that can be updated are the .user.ini or wp-config file. I really need to be able to add our google adsense script into the Newspaper theme panel in order to generate revenue and worry that we are losing money every day that this panel does not allow us to save this script on our home page and posts pages. Would you please update me on how this is going? Here are our credentials again:

There was an issue like you are describing in previous versions, we provided a fix for it

Hi,

Unfortunately mega menu is set to sort after latest post, maybe only if you make some changes in theme file, but you’ll need to make that changes after each updates.

After the most recent update I now have CSS code that shows up on the live page above every header. Not sure what happened or how to fix it. Please help.

Article Inline AD Problem after last update. - topic

Hello All,

Prior to the update, if you specified “0” for AFTER PARAGRAPH: Parameter, the inline AD would be displayed on the very first paragraph. Now however, if you specify “0” or leave the field blank, the inline AD will be displayed at the very bottom of the article.

However, if you specify “1”, it will be displayed after the first paragraph.

All our articles are setup for having the Inline AD display in the very first paragraph and not after the first.

Anyway to correct this ?

Hello,
I insert my custom shortcode into column text and appears fine. However, when I go to edit again the page via builder, the shortcode is replaced with the static html that has been created from the shortcode in previous update. The result is to not have a functional/dynamic shortcode. Any advice? Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response, seems the topic was unintentionally overlooked for some reason.

1. There is currently an issue when selecting the latest articles template for pages.
While the latest articles template is applied after being selected and the page published/updated, the settings for it are not displaying.

We are working on a fix for this issue however, it will be provided as soon as possible.

2. Between actual modules displaying posts is not possible by a theme setting. With cloud templates you can place ad boxes around the post loop (above it, next to it, below it)

Each can be imported (and modified if needed), there is also a blank template in which you can design your own templates.

3. The best way to place and ad below the pagination is to use the post loop elements instead of the latest articles section for the template. It is basically the same thing, but the loop can be positioned wherever in the page content, with other content around it

4. There was a problem with the theme lazyload in the previous version, it is now fixed however. If you have not already, please update the theme, then clear all caching including browser cache. The problem should be fixed.

5. Usually this kind of issue is caused by caching plugin. I have seen before plugins like total cache creating the problem. We tested the mobile theme with WP Super Cache and it works as intended. But some other caching plugins or settings from them can cause the mobile theme plugin to load for desktop users or various other issues.

Site crashes when I switch to newspaper theme - topic

Hello,

till few days ago I didn’t have any problem with the theme on cinaoggi.it. However, after the update, the site crashes. I made some test and the site is working with other templates. Using the Query Monitor plugin I saw that td_composer and the theme create some slow queries. Can you please help me to solve this issue?

Hi there
After updating WP to version 5.0, the footer is not aligned as it was before the update.
It goes to the right by 50px and I cannot understand why…
