Some plugins may become incompatible with version 7. This is the case with major updates as the code is custom and not all plugins can tie into the code. The weather widget cannot be used outside newspaper 7 as it’s a theme feature not a plugin.

In order to update from newspaper 6, you need to delete the old theme altogether and copy over the new theme via ftp. Then simply run the update script from the welcome screen: http://screencast.com/t/NXxqfbe4T

Before the update make sure you do a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.

The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Please note that old files customization or custom css will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust or re-add them.
You will have to re-apply a few settings though as some elements change their order and number such as blocks or post templates so a post template from newspaper 4 for example post style 3, will not be post style 3 anymore but a different number.
You will only have to allow a half hour to restore your site to it’s previous setup.

Try to add the code inside a text block (text mode not visual) and see if it will show up. The search in the sidebar does not work at the moment on the site you mentioned.

please make sure your post slide has posts to display. If an empty category is filtered then the block will have nothing to display. Please access the block settings and try to filter all categories and make sure you have posts created.

Unfortunately these types of mail plugins are not tested and we cannot say for sure if they work out of the box or require further implementation. unfortunately this is the case with every premium theme as not all plugins are compatible. I’m sorry you had to find that out the hard way with premium plugins but unfortunately there is little we can do as plugin implementation falls beyond what support can offer you. Hopefully this will not be too hard of a challenge to implement, but you will require hiring a freelancer to do it or alternatively, try out a few free plugins and find one that works as expected.

1) The site title can be changed from the SEO Yoast plugin under titles sand meta. The theme cannot change the site title.
2) Maybe you have the social counter set in visual composer on a split row, not as a sidebar. Please edit your page and check the rightmost column of the layout.

Please make sure you have the latest version of the social counter installed. Please update your theme to the latest version (newspaper 7) by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and then also update the plugins : visual composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ and use the same method to install the new version of social counter.
The social counter is not a live count and is affected by cache so please either clear your cache after you set it up or wait a bit for it to update. In @snledo’s case, it now works: http://screencast.com/t/J06krX6WhUsa

Hi,
The lightbox in our theme works as long as your image links to the media file (and not external links) and there are no links in the image caption. That is the way our modal image was designed. If you want to use external links, the modal image from our theme will not work properly. The wp lightbox 2 plugin was not tested officially. I ran a few tests and it seemed to work but this could not be the case anymore. you will have to try a few of them out or remove your links from the images and use the theme’s lightbox.

Editor Picks feature used a block_7 to display all the post that are featured. If you do not have this kind of sorting on your post, this section will be empty. As Chris suggested, you can ignore the message as the free version of visual composer cannot be activate it. The features work properly and no activation code is required. We will provide updates on a regular basis along with the theme update. The social counter plugin also does this sop please ignore that one as well.
