Hi,

@justbradford Seems to appear at the moment – https://www.screencast.com/t/e22hQrrsL

Note that some social buttons will appear only on mobile, when used they will open the mobile app and the post can be shared. On desktop they will not be visible.

Thanks

Hi,

For the title and description if you want to set a link, you would have to define it in the actual title and description fields with HTML. For example

Hi,

We haven’t tested in a wordpress.com environment up to this point, from what I know there are users that use the theme successfully in those circumstances, while others have various issues it seems.

For example this user was receiving a message when trying to access the theme panel
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/403-forbidden-permission-denied-our-sentries-tell-us-that-you-should-not-be-her/
That message is not coming from the theme, maybe the wordpress support there could have been able to clear things out.
However ultimately if the issue from above or other issues that may happen cannot be solved, we can provide a refund and you can try a different theme.

You could check some pros and cons for each WordPress

Hi,

From what I can see the tag pages have a 301 status (moved permanently)
https://www.screencast.com/t/XDbeHwmhis
The theme doesn’t have any redirect capabilities, something else is happening. You could begin by re-saving the permalinks in WordPress settings.

Also check the code you have in the htaccess file, maybe a redirect is set there like mentioned here
https://www.warrenchandler.com/2013/12/06/redirecting-wordpress-tag-pages-for-seo/
Or check code entered in the theme files that could cause this issue, if you have any.

Hi,

Indeed, shortcodes should be entered in text elements such as the column text or text with title. For example – https://www.screencast.com/t/ijR9ZwS5Ye
The editor doesn’t have a save button, once the content is entered in it it should appear automatically, it can be closed after this.

If the WP editor which opens in order to enter the text/shortcode is not working properly, the first step to take is to investigate plugins. Make a quick test, deactivate them all except theme plugins and try again.

Also you could try this in a different browser. Let us know what you find.

Thanks

Hi,

That doesn’t sound like a theme element, also setting a theme accent color is related to setting a predominant color for various elements not loading a progress bar.

Does the same happen if you deactivate all your plugins except theme plugins? You could check this as a first step, chances are a plugin is doing it.

Thanks

You could design an actual post template, this can be done with the composer now
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
You can design it with rows stretched and with background images or in any way possible.
We created some cloud post template designs that can be imported, but you can create your own as well
https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single

The login link in the top bar is defined in this file
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/change-the-links-that-sign-in-and-join-refer-to/
You could modify the link to direct to a specified location.

Hi,

You could use the offset option – https://forum.tagdiv.com/offset-feature/

So for example if you use the same filtering for 3 blocks, they will of course display the same posts. If the first block displays 5 posts, the second one should have an offset of 5, the third one an offset of 10.
This way the posts will not be repeated and each block will continue where the previous one ends.

Hi,

Now the website is working. I checked it on mobile, seems alright, the mobile theme is active and working – http://prntscr.com/m8s4vdhttp://prntscr.com/m8s56m

What is this error you mention, where does it appear?

As a side note, if you use the mobile theme plugin you will have to create two versions for each page. One with the composer, and one with the mobile editor, as mentioned in the guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

If you do not enter content in the mobile editor for each page, they will be empty on mobile when the mobile theme plugin is active. The plugin is optional, you can deactivate it and then the same content from desktop will appear on mobile.

Hi,

That is possible with some CSS, a similar topic here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-move-menu-items/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/
Each menu item has a unique ID, this can be used to target it specifically. If you need help with it, please post a link to the website.

Hi,

In most cases 500 errors are caused by low WP-memory. As plugins are installed the memory will eventually get exhausted, most hosting providers are limiting it to 40M by default.

We recommend a value of 256M which would be decent for most websites. Check what is the value of the WP-memory in the theme system status panel. If needed increase it, or ask the hosting provider to increase it for you if possible
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Check the other parameters mentioned in the guide as well.

Hi,

Your settings in the theme panel will not be lost by updating the theme. As always however it is recommended to make a full backup before updating.

Regarding the second question, I believe you are referring to the social counter
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
It depends on how it is placed, it it’s a block, edit the page where it is and modify it as needed
https://www.screencast.com/t/Qdy3EcMeEKg
If it’s a widget, it can be edited in Appearance->Widgets

Hi,

The retina thumbnails when activated will be served on retina displays only
https://forum.tagdiv.com/retina-images/
If you want to activate retina the theme will create two thumbnails for each size, basically double the amount of thumbnails.
After activating retina thumbs you will have to regenerate with this plugin
https://forum.tagdiv.com/existing-content/

Hi,

The theme files will be replaced, anything else will not be affected. The theme panel settings, custom code in theme panel and ad codes are saved in the database so they will not be affected by reinstalling the theme.

If on this fresh install the problem is still happening, contact us as mentioned above so we can take a look.

Thanks

So you are removing the code from the plugin, then the booster should be always active
https://www.screencast.com/t/IvPTiFdTf
But what about this custom CSS you mention, you mean the one in the theme panel? That should not be affected by this modification in the booster plugin. I did check however with the booster active, seems to work alright – http://prntscr.com/m8ri57

Are you using the latest version of the theme? From what I can see you might be using Gutenberg and WordPress 5. Note that the theme has been updated to improve compatibility with the latest WordPress, older versions may not work properly with it.

A changelog for each theme update can be seen here, at the bottom
https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609

If you use an older theme version please consider to update
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

In case the problem remains, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login so we can take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Maybe some of the modifications made in the theme since the version you previously had are now causing this problem. You could revert to a revision of the page before the extra content was added, then add it again if possible.

Or rebuild that page in a test page, add the same elements in it to see if the same happens after adding them fresh after the update.

I checked in Chrome and Firefox, there is no such ad for me – http://prntscr.com/m8fmmf
I tested in in a different computer, still no secondary ad. You could check in a different browser as well.

I checked with the inspector as well, only one ad seems to be there
http://prntscr.com/m8fon3

Hi,

Then maybe a general background is set, the website will be boxed in this case
https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-introduction/
Full width with a background set is not possible for the page content.

I checked that video as well, no problem with it – http://prntscr.com/m8fgy6
So this happens for you with all videos from Vimeo? What if you make a test post with a video from YouTube for example?

If that doesn’t work as well, there were cases from what I can remember when the issue was related to the PHP version, if you use an older version please try to change it to version 7 or 7.1 for example.

Hi,

A link to the website would be helpful, so I can take a look on mobile. The optional mobile theme plugin is included in the theme package, in the plugins folder
https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/

Note that if you use the mobile theme plugin you will have to create two versions for each page.

Thanks

So the error remains even after all the modifications were removed? Does it happen for all pages, even new pages? Then the problem could be elsewhere. You could reinstall the theme to make sure all the files are in their original form
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

If the problem remains, we could take a look. You can send us admin login at contact@tagdiv.com so we can investigate. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Hi,

You mean pagination within the page? In pages built with the composer it is not possible unfortunately. This will only work in posts
https://forum.tagdiv.com/posts-with-pagination/
If I misunderstand please correct me.

Thanks

Hi,

So basically you want to move the latest articles section at the top? That would be possible. Change the page template to the default page template so that the latest articles section from the bottom of the page will be removed.

Then edit the page with the composer and add a loop element at the top of the page. The loop element is essentially a latest articles section. It has many design settings so it can be made to look in many ways.

There are a few loop examples in the cloud library, these can be imported
https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks
Or you can create your own design.

Thanks

Hi,

Only you could decide which thumbnails to disable. The theme will create I believe a total of 19 thumbnail sizes and WordPress will generate 3 sizes. The theme will use the thumbnails in blocks, grids and other modules
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/

For each thumbnail size it will be specified where it is used, for example
https://www.screencast.com/t/2Y8RGxoc
So depending on what elements you do not use, disable the thumbnail sizes accordingly. After you disable sizes, from then on they will not be generated anymore. Previously created thumbnails will remain, unless maybe you use the force regenerate plugin
https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/

Thanks
