I understand. We are using one of the smart list styles on desktop that does not do this to images and we find that using a smart list is the best solution available for presenting this kind of information.
I have done a lot of customizations to both the main and mobile themes by tweaking the source code directly. All of these customizations have come from you and your colleagues’ assistance in this forum.
Are there any code changes I can make to the mobile smart list template that would stop this image replacement from happening?
Examples of changes I’ve already made to mobile:
- Remove pagination on homepage
- Change display of homepage block from “featured” to regular and offset the list below by three
- Remove display of sister categories on category pages
- Remove Whatsapp and Pinterest sharing options
As you can see, I’m not opposed to making changes when necessary and this smart list image issue is certainly one that has an impact.
Regarding using the responsive theme instead of mobile, this is not an option. We have promoted your mobile theme in particular as one of the reasons to visit our website and we won’t give up on that.
Any suggestions you can provide for modifying the code are appreciated. Thank you.

If you want to add more code in our theme, you should use the do_shortcode method and place it every want on the website. For example, the snippet of the code which you should add the theme core files should look like this ->

While searching on various other threads on the same topic, I noticed that there are ways to hide ads from the specific page using following code:
.postid-147 .td-a-rec, .postid-147 .td-g-rec{
display:none;
}

Notice : the .td-g-rec class is only for a Google Adsense AD and .td-a-rec for other ads.
Though, it is also discussed that to hide Adsense ads might go against Google’s policy. So, its better not to hide the ad but to stop ad placeholder from loading.

Isn’t their any way to simply remove all ad placeholder from loading on any specific post? Please give a try to a solution for this.
You can very well notice that this issue is being faced by all of us, no matter whether they are aware of it or not.
I also noticed that many times, in other threads, it was advised to install any other plugins like Adrotate or QUAD.
I have a simple response on this. When we already have such a robust ad management system in-built in our theme, why should I use a new plugin for it? Shouldn’t we always try to keep numbers of plugins as low possible?
The ad-slots under TagDiv theme Ad manager is ( by default) built by taking Adsense into the consideration. Even Adsense examples are mentioned there, then why shouldn’t we try to improve its functionality rather than telling to use a new plugin?
I know that not everything can be integrated into a theme but if you do have such function. Please try to perfect it in future updates.
Just to give an example. There is a very popular theme on Themeforest called “BIMBER,” the developer didn’t want to work on ad section of the theme so, they collaborated with QUAD team and added the seamless ad-management system with this plugin.
But, since here we already have a very robust ad management option, we must try to make it fully worth of having it.

Please keep in mind that you want to change the structure of the date for modules, you will have to edit the corresponding files according to your block used by you. For example, if you are using the Block 3 you will have to edit the modules which make up this block, like module 1, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/whTutD5OFRyy

Do you are referring to display the featured image only on modules/blocks and not on the post pages, right? So, if you want to do this, you should use a bit of CSS code to hide the featured image in the post content.

1. Unfortunately our theme ad system works across the whole site. It cannot activate or deactivate an ad for specific posts/pages. You will have ti use an ad plugin for such functionality. You can try adrotate for example
2. Well the file gets replaced so any at all customization to the theme files will have to be re-added. Please always make a back-up of your modifications as the theme files get replaced and you will have to re-add the modification after each update.
There is no update proof method of altering the theme files unfortunately

I love your work on the theme 🙂
I have two things I would suggest. Maybe you can decide if you can add it to the future feature list.
1) I want to be able to decide in which format the time is showing on every single module. You are pulling the time from wordpress. But if I change it there, it is changed also for every plugin that is also pulling the time from wordpress. If you could make your time format settings independend from the overall setting in wordpress that would be neat. Sometimes you want the hours and minutes at the time format of a module, sometimes you dont. To be able to decide how the time is showing in meta for every module and post template would be an awesome extra.
2) You are offering the possibility to change the landing pages of a category in the theme panel. Which is awesome. You can there decide to overrule some of the default settings on a per category basis. What would raise the bar is, if it would be possible to change Post template default setting on a category basis. For example if you have a catagory called newsflash, you maybe don’t want to show a featured image. So you would need to change the default setting to a template with a featured image EVERYTIME manually to one without an image. That is time consuming. If you change the default template to one without a featured image, you have to change it manually everytime in the other direction when you are writing a post that should have images. We are posting 5-10 posts per day, so to think about the post template settings on every post is a pain in the ass (so say it frankly).
So it would be awesome to be able to set a default post template on a category basis. To push that further you could also ad sidebar settings. So every post within a given category would be set to a special sidebar and a special post template.
Those two features are right now one of the only things missing for our setting 🙂
Maybe you could consider them, if they are “easily” done, possible and so on 😉

If you want to change the text for your second line of your header logo text, you should do it from Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/yDp2uMHI8Tkg
Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to change the font for Logo text from the theme panel, sorry! If you want to change it you should use a bit of CSS code to load the new font for this section. For example, you can use the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area:
.td-logo-text, .td-tagline-text {
font-family: ABeeZee;
}
Also, notice that the ABeeZee font should have to be loaded in your theme from the panel if you want that the code to be applied.)

Purchased new theme .. Have old site which has almost 1500+ posts with images in content & NO Featured image.
In your newspaper theme , it works on featured image / placeholder image.
How to show image from content in case there is no featured image in the contents…..
As soon as I activate the newspaper theme , most of the blocks are showing blank images.
Is there an easy way to show the content image if featured image is not part of the content. (This is for all the old content)

Help! I’ve recently purchased the Newspaper 7 theme to revamp my website. The existing website’s theme, settings and contents are all being cloned to a new server for this purpose. Just then I’ve activated the newly purchased Newspaper 7 and installed one of the demos (News Magazine, include content), but found out I can not make any changes at all, even as simple as updating the Social Counter widget.
What’s the cause of this problem? Does it have anything to do with the existing settings with the old theme?
