- NewspaperThe Newspaper Mobile Theme: Introduction
This is a great them, but there have been some big frustrations when updating. Things like having to change your post from ‘Default Template Style’ setting to ‘1’ or else all your articles/posts would show up blank.
For me the worst has been the abysmal Mobile plugin as it caused way more headaches than just letting the AMP plugin do its job. If you use a free plugin like Asset Clean Up, it will actually get your site speeding up in mobile mode to keep Google happy.
Hi.
At the end of an article, in “Related articles”, in the image of the article appears the category of each article in black on the image.
When seen in the mobile version, it occupies almost the entire image, so it can not look good. Example.
https://japonpedia.com/tokio-en-helicoptero/
How can I remove the tag from the category that appears on the highlighted image?
Thank you.
I would like to implement Buddypress, but I want to use the Newspaper top bar instead of the WordPress admin bar.
Hiding the WP admin bar is easy enough, but is there a resource to change the link (for logged-in users) for the Login/Log out to the BuddyPress Profile page?
So for example, when a Logged OUT user clicks the Login button in the top bar, they get the the normal login modal. When a Logged IN user clicks the profile button, they get the the BuddyPress Profile page.
I have selected Twitter, Facebook & Whatsapp as the sharing platforms on my website. But WhatsApp logo doesn’t seem to work.
Hi,
Unfortunately, this issue happens due when you are using a single template default, sorry! It seems that we forget to add shortcode “<?php echo $td_mod_single
->get_social_sharing_bottom();?>” in “loop-single.php”. For example, you have style1 then you can add your custom shortcode at wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/parts/single/loop-single-1.php
We consider fixing this issue in our future updates as soon as possible.
Hope this helps!
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Looks like AMP is being picked up: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thenerdystudent.com/2018/11/putio/amp/
But icons aren’t loading in. I’ve spent all morning trying to fix this but have no clue.
Thanks 🙂
Hi there,
That’s odd, I have checked it in the mobile menu: https://imgur.com/a/O6baNkS
The issue is AMP isn’t appearing in the sidebar, so I can’t do some of the steps in guide: https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/9038673/56297973-432bad00-6129-11e9-8e5a-c41895167903.png
Hi,
I checked your website and you are not using mobile theme with amp -> https://www.screencast.com/t/eZjxmQlwKp it should look like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/rMcBAcO7
Thank you!
Hi,
I checked your amp post and the ads and auto ads are working -> https://www.screencast.com/t/LtBtBER1BP
auto ads -> https://www.screencast.com/t/FShkzmjTlDA -> https://www.screencast.com/t/2DgYOsMIjZt0
Thank you!
I have translated this term, but on AMP view, it keeps showing as ‘Search..’
How to translate it? I use mobile theme with Mobile+AMP
I want to change the header color for the AMP page in mobile.
Also, I want to remove the share button from the AMP page.
Please tell me how to do it?
Thanks, that works for me – you’re a lifesaver.
Now all I have to get sorted is AMP lol
@nemesic,
I think that the support team is not going to answer to you in this post.
May be they answer, but as far as i know, you need to open a new post for them to answer
In my case, Im still using the AMP 9.6 version until they provide amp native among mobile plugin options.
Im waiting for support to confirm this status to move forward
When I had setup the AMP plugin only originally the amp pages were showing up even on google analytics but when I installed the Mobile theme the amp pages wont show up when I use my mobile phone to test with any settings. Nothing on google analytics on amp urls either.
I have deactivated the mobile theme plugin and still the amp pages dont work on my mobile phone.
Please help
Great, thanks.
About my support, sorry about that. I just need to get the AMP and WP Admin issues solved. Ther support is too much for me to afford to renew, so I just want to iron out these issues as the site was working fine on 9.5.
Hi,
If you want the responsive version and amp you should use this opinion -> https://www.screencast.com/t/jZct5ueBqOrb but if you have amp activate on pages you’ll need to create in Mobile editor a content for AMP version of page.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please make sure you clear your cache as I have just tested this and it works just fine. I have disabled the author box from the theme panel-> post settings and it is no longer shown on the mobile them or amp.
Thank you!
Ok, thanks, I will try that code.
But the code you gave earlier for lowercase didn’t work well. It turned every letter lower case, for example,
(GADGETS) – ‘gadgets’ instead of ‘Gadgets’
(SUBSCRIBE NOW) – ‘subscribe now’ instead of ‘
‘Subscribe Now’
If there is a way I can keep the first letter upper case, it would be so helpful.
Thanks,
I just uploaded a fresh copy of your theme (latest version) and its child theme.
With a child theme on, AMP is not working. Same settings/plugins. With main theme on, AMP is working.
Any ideas?
My CDN is disabled.
I’ve temporarily disabled every full page caching solution.
I kept only your plugins active (and official AMP plugin aswell), and the issue still occurs.
If I disable the Mobile plugin of yours, AMP pages work with the default appearance of AMP (blue template).
I would appreciated if you can review the situation.
Let me know if you want me to share details.
Hello,
Amp works just fine for us with the mobile theme. I have just tested the functionality again but saw no issues with it. It is most likely a plugin conflict affecting your amp template.
Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
Hi, after the update (9./), only one thing doesn’t work anymore.
If the WPBakery Page Builder is used to create a single image, the settings for the size of the image no longer work. It will be truncated and displayed in full size.
I mean these settings:
Enter image size (Example: “thumbnail”, “medium”, “large”, “full” or other sizes defined by theme). Alternatively enter size in pixels (Example: 200×100 (Width x Height)).
In all cases I use “full” and the pic fits to the column.
The problem used to exist, but only if the TagDiv Composer was activated in addition to the WPBakery Page Builder. Then I just turned off the TagDiv Composer and the problems were gone. Now the TagDiv Composer has to be activated additionally. What can I do now?
Thanks, genloc
Hi suresh,
Being untested plugins, notice that our AMP plugin has not been tested with this such a plugin, sorry! Also, we cannot provide support for untested plugins!
Thank you for understanding!
Hi, In order to make our sites GDPR compliant, we use the plugin “GDPR Cookie Consent”. When I activate the Newspaper AMP, the cookie banner disappears. Is there a way to display it on AMP-Posts as well?
