Hi,

I have replied via email 4 hours ago, this is my reply:

Hi,

I have checked your site, the error comes from the server, it restricts access to admin-ajax.php – http://screencast.com/t/dTqApVZW2h You have to check the error.log to see if you can find something related to this issue. If not you have to contact server administrator.

Thanks!

Hi Guys

Things going very well with move

http://147.e4d.myftpupload.com

Staging URL above

One question…using custom CSS from this forum I have changed the Big Grid article headings to a shadow opacity ‘block’ – but the headline text has shaded too, I need it to be white like before but I can’t find any other posts here that help?

Another post has the CSS I used and the example link has the opacity box but the text remained white. Can you help me with the colour element of the CSS

Here is the code I used:
.td-big-grid-post .entry-title a{
background-color: black;
display: inline-block;
opacity: 0.4;
}

Many thanks as always

Hi Alin

Thanks for the reply. Two things:

1. How do I display related post in block1?
2. When I expand tag_div widget it freezes my browser. I do not have this issue with other theme. Do you know the reason?

Thanks

Hi,

Do you want to change the thumb size and the cropping mode? You will have to add a new thumb size in td_config.php file – http://screencast.com/t/2HGRTOMU9boA and use the that size in module mx4(which is used to create block 15) – http://screencast.com/t/gICu0V2fPg Then you have to regenerate your thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ Also make a backup of your current files so you can revert if something goes wrong.

Please note that there’s no ideal image size, the modules have thumbs with different aspect ratios and a part of the image may get lost on the cropping process. You could read more about the featured image size here (it’s from Newsmag documentation but the principles are the same) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/image-size/

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry for delay! Our support program is Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 17:00 PM and we answer to the most oldest topics so if you add new replies we get later to your topic.

Do you refer to this block from the demo? – http://screencast.com/t/6NJoAqpL6 This is block 1 and you can add it to your sidebar from Widgets area, just the block title is “Must Read” – http://screencast.com/t/wkpSrEhx8 and you can set your sidebar from Template Settings – http://screencast.com/t/bG4deTp04UoE but please note that if you use a custom sidebar for your category page it will overwrite this setting and it will be displayed category sidebar on articles(from that specific category) – http://screencast.com/t/l7EhS59O

Hope this helps!

Hello guys,

I have 7 days post sorting enabled and java view counter also enabled but the block that should display these posts is empty even after 7 days since I enabled it. Could you please help me with some advice?

You can see this item on the first page of our website:

http://gipsy.ninja

The section is called “TRENDING” and you will find it in the lower section of the first page.

Another advice that I would appreciate would be for a 24 hour post sorting. I understand that it’s something you are working on, but until you will release this feature, could you recommend a plugin/widget that will do this without killing the server in an event of high traffic?

Thank you for your time!

Hi,

You can add a border using this custom css – http://screencast.com/t/1mg8X8OM but you will need additional customizations, unfortunately we cannot provide any type of custom work so if you don’t have basic css/html experience I suggest to hire a freelancer to do this for you.

.td_block_4 .td_module_2 {
border: 1px solid red;
}

Thanks!

Also with regard to IOS Slider for version 4, we would like to remove the category and date blocks over the images, but still allow categories and dates to appear as usual on posts, and dates to appear as they are in the content blocks on the home page. Wondering how to hide the category and date info on the slider only? Thanks!

Hey, I contacted the author of FeedWordPress yesterday, too. He replied and his solution worked. I post it here for anyone who experiences the same problem:

Hi Rolf!

Thank you for getting in touch. I’m sorry to hear this has been a problem for you. I think that it should be easy to solve; at least, here’s something to try. Let me know if it works for you.

By default, FeedWordPress deliberately tries to protect syndicated posts from being altered by the formatting filters that are applied to locally-authored posts (I’m not positive this is the best default policy; but there are reasons in favor of it and reasons against). In any case, though, this behavior can be turned off by flipping a single setting in the FeedWordPress admin interface.

Here’s how. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard, and then go to FeedWordPress’s Posts & Links settings (Syndication > Posts & Links in the navigation bar on the right hand side of the WordPress admin interface). This should bring up a settings page with a number of panels of settings that control how syndicated posts appear on your website.

Next, scroll down through these settings until you find a panel labeled Formatting. The first setting on this panel should be called Formatting Filters. By default, unless you have altered this setting, it should read “Protect syndicated posts from formatting filters” in the drop-down menu. What you’ll want to do is to pull down the drop-down, and change this setting to “Expose syndicated posts to formatting filters”.

When you are done, scroll down to the bottom to find the blue Save Changes button. Mash that button, clear any page caches or browser caches you may need to clear to make sure you are looking at a fresh copy, and take a look at your website again to see if VC codes are now being applied to syndicated posts.

Note that if you are adding VC codes to syndicated posts by editing them in the WordPress post editor, that when you save changes to a syndicated post you will also need to click the checkbox in the post editor reading “Manual editing,” in order to ensure that the changes that you make won’t be overwritten by FeedWordPress during a later update.

Hope this all helps. Let me know if you have any questions, and let me know how this works for you.

Cheers,
-C

Hi,

Do you have a problem with thumbnails or you really want to change the slider’s height?
If you thumbs are not fit in the slider’s container, please regenerate your thumbs – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/
If you want to increase height, you have to change the thumb size in td_config.php file, these are the thumbs used by IOS Slider – http://screencast.com/t/WUpPywQqaD you will have to create a similar thumb with your specific size and use it in the slider module – http://screencast.com/t/0270faxp5e Also you need a custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css to increase the container’s height – http://screencast.com/t/tCrX4C2l Don’t forget to regenerate thumbnails if make some changea in td_config.php file – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/

.iosSlider-col-2 .td_module_slide, .td_block_slide .iosSlider-col-2 {
height: 500px !important;
}

I provided an example for 2 columns slider, if you don’t have basic experience I suggest to hire someone to do this for you, unfortunately we cannot provide any type of custom work at this time, sorry!

Thanks!

1) Is there a way to get more precise cropping?

I have logos that need to be precisely cropped. So If I use a larger photo, to produce a higher res output, the photos get cropped.

EX: So on a desktop the logo reads “Google,” while on the mobile, the cropped version reads “oogl,” which isn’t going to work. lol 😉

2) Also, M10 and M11 doesn’t show any excerpt on mobile but does on desktop. Is this normal function?

Thanks!

Still no luck.

Here’s the error…

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home2/independ/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/loop-single-7.php on line 43

And here are the blocks of text as they exist now…

<div class=”td-pb-span8 td-main-content <?php echo $td_sidebar_position; ?>-content” role=”main”>
<div class=”td-ss-main-content”>
<?php
locate_template(‘loop-single-7.php’, true);

?>
</div>
</div>
<div class=”td-pb-span4 td-main-sidebar” role=”complementary”>
<div class=”td-ss-main-sidebar”>
<?php get_sidebar(); ?>
</div>
</div>
<?php
break;

case ‘no_sidebar’:
?>
<div class=”td-pb-span12 td-main-content” role=”main”>
<div class=”td-ss-main-content”>
<?php
locate_template(‘loop-single-7.php’, true);

?>

</div>

<?php comments_template(“, true);?>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_social_sharing_bottom();?>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_next_prev_posts();?>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_author_box();?>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_item_scope_meta();?>
</footer>

I tried to insert the comment code into the block but it just got an error.

Again, it would seem that changing the order of these items would be something that everyone would want to do, so I’m curious if it’s something we should expect in an update. The problem clearly is that the comment should be the first thing after the end of the article text. As it is, everyone has to scroll all the way past all this other stuff to even be prompted to comment…I’m sure it’s one of the primary reasons we are getting so few comments.

Please help! Thanks!

Hello,
I have disabled all theme generated images from theme panel as I do not want them to fill my server disk. I use “block 7” on my homepage, and thus the theme uses “td_100x70.png” in the Newspaper/images/thumb-disabled. I resplaced this image with an icon that goes well with my website.

The problem is that there isn’t the alt tag for those 100×70 images. The images are linked to posts and there also should be the post title as the alt tag of the image. Could you please fix this issue in the next update and tell me how edit the theme until you update the theme?

You switched just the comments line and the load template line. What you need to do is switch around all five lines in the two files.

Try moving the comments line into that block in the corresponding loop-single file (this is the move I was unsure about but it’s very likely fine). Then, in loop-single, rearrange the lines to get the desired order: comments, prev-next, etc. (if you’re looking at the right files, this part can’t fail).

Hi,

I am using Block 15 full width on the homepage and have two rows of 5 thumbnails. I want to be able to control the height in pixels of the thumbnail in block 15. The reason for this is that the featured images are actually magazine front covers but I can not get it to display the full height of the cover.

Can you help?

Hi

By default the theme hide the scroll to top button on mobile devices, but can be displayed using custom css:

@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-scroll-up-visible {
display: block;
}
}

The result should be like here: http://screencast.com/t/zJABfrOg

Thanks for the message!

Hi

Try this custom css to remove the zoom effect on hover:

.td_block_big_grid .entry-thumb {
transform: none!important;
-webkit-transform: none!important;
-moz-transform: none!important;
}

This code will remove the zoom for big grid 1, in case you’re using another grid just replace the grid class with the corresponding for the one you use, for example for big grid 3 the class is: .td_block_big_grid_3

Thanks!
