Is newspaper going to continue to support visual composer?
Will I be forced at some point to convert all my pages to tag div composer?
Is there an updated version of visual composer available after Version 5.1.1?
Gutenberg is a simple page builder for sites without one; it’s not needed if using TD themes as it includes option for 2 different page builders, including TDcomposer, fully integrated with theme.
A *lot* of developers, WP websites/blogs, and theme companies have already written negative reviews on the beta version and many have requested it *not* be made part of core, and left as a plugin.
Just my thoughts — you can Google the topic extensively; but upshot – it will be useful if using the twenty-sixteen theme (or free themes included with WP), but for most commercial themes it will likely break stuff and you would be “on your own…” with that.
( I don’t work here. )
Hello NerdOmegaPrime,
It’s not necessary to activate the Visual Composer because this plugin comes bundled with the theme and the license for it is included in theme’s packet.
Thanks.
Hi,
I have tested the row background color on a text element like you mention
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ZOjdgfzGQEdC
The background color is applied properly
– https://www.screencast.com/t/O5ZYhxklTDB
Setting a background on the text element itself works as well
– https://www.screencast.com/t/zGHS2avUHBL
– https://www.screencast.com/t/1TkFe2jE
I used the Visual composer provided in the theme package in the tests.
Thanks
How can i activate the visual composer to 5.2.1?
Thanks for your reply.
I am using the latest theme version and I’ve installed it via FTP. I can confirm that my system parameters match those which were recommended and the only active plugins are the two that were installed via the theme (tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Social Counter).
I really need to get this working ASAP, as I have a deadline I need to hit.
Thanks
Hello ablascob,
1)Errors happened during tdcIframeData.init() -> bindViewsModelsWrappers()!
Please do not use this setting in Seo by Yoast:
https://www.screencast.com/t/n8Cc35EofLh Also, if you are using the WP Super Cache plugin, please ensure that has been right setup according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
2)Also, the third important rule is to do not edit a page which was created with Visual Composer with TD Composer.
Also, I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues like this.
For more information about how you should use our page builder incorrect way on our theme, please check the following useful tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial-2/
Clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi, I’ve a (big) problem with featured articles images. Sometimes they disappear and the homepage loses its arrangement. Each time I have to upload again the featured article images.
I use the free version of Newspaper template and free Visual Composer.
Thanks
Good morning Simon,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it turns out I was changing the widget’s settings, but looking at the top social counter (which I thought was the Widget) that is in-fact is part of the page design.
And as you said, the top one is edited in the tagDiv composer.
Sincerely,
Shawn Tierney
Hello,
I am getting confused about Categories. I can see that when a category is created wordpress creates a category page which is under http://www.websitename.com/category/. I haven’t linked to this page in any way, I have created my own pages with the name of the category and then used tag div composer to list posts from that category on the page. I’m wondering whether I can just ignore the wordpress generated category pages if they aren’t linked to but still exist, or can i delete them in some way so they don’t confuse google. I’m unsure whether this will confuse google if these pages aren’t linked to on the site at all.
I hope this makes some sense thanks.
Hello:
The td_composer does not work for me. I deleted it and reinstalled it and it still does not work.
This is the error that comes up: Errors happened during tdcIframeData.init () -> bindViewsModelsWrappers ()!
Do you know why?
Thank you
Hi,
When you updated the theme to the latest version, the tagDiv composer was automatically activated
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
This composer can cause Visual composer elements or features to not work properly, so you can try to deactivate it and check the results with the hidden blocks.
The mobile theme seems to be working at the moment, I see no problem with it
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Wd6uUEG3Q2J
Thanks
Hello –
I have finally converted all my pages over to use the TagDiv page designer, I have deactivated the Visual Composer plugin, however, is it safe to delete the plugin?
Thanks
I am having the same issue.
When I open Chrome’s Dev Tools and view the console panel, I can see a 403 Error—see below:
load-scripts.php?c=1&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,plupload,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-widget,jquery-ui-mouse,jquery-ui-draggable,jquery-ui-slider,j&load[]=query-touch-punch,iris,wp-color-picker&ver=4.8.2:4 POST http://70.32.90.114/wp-json/td-composer/do_job?tmp_jobId=0&tmp_blockUid=undefined&uuid=b987a889-324b-08d4-1ae8-a3d616068158&post_id=5 403 (Forbidden)
tdcJobManager.addJob – Error callback – textStatus: error errorThrown: Forbidden
I can’t seem to add any elements to the website I have just installed Newspaper on.
I don’t have any extra plugins installed.
When I drag items over I just get a spinning wheel and grey panel.
I have check php settings and these seem to be fine.
When I attempt to use the tagDiv Composer to build out a page, I receive the following error message:
“Errors happened during tdcIframeData.init() -> bindViewsModelsWrappers()!”
I’ve looked through the support forum, and unfortunately the generic response to the issue does not apply to my situation.
This is a fresh install of the theme to the latest version of WordPress and the only active plugins are the two that were installed by the theme (tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Social Counter).
I look forward to your response and hopefully a resolution.
Thank you in advance for your time.
Hi,
The theme is fully compatible with Visual composer, as it is provided in the theme package. Try to think of recent changes made, maybe something has auto-updated and is now causing issues. Use only the Visual composer included in the theme package, or do not update this plugin directly from the author if you have this option (purchased plugin)
Try deactivating all plugins except theme plugins, and see if this has any effect. The Visual composer version currently included with the theme is 5.2.1.
Thanks
Hi,
The actual menu of that website is above that section, on top of the page. Those seem more like tabs. Visual composer has the tabs element, but the tagDiv composer does not yet have something similar.
This might change in future theme updates however, and they will be added to the tagDiv composer as well but I cannot say for sure when this will happen.
Thanks
Hi,
The images and videos uploaded are stored by WordPress, in the uploads folder
– http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/where-does-wordpress-store-images-on-your-site/
The theme or theme composer do not have any options that would allow you to place such a directory. There could be plugins that you could search for in this case.
Thanks
Hi,
I see two instances of social counters on the homepage. One at the top, and one further down the page. The first one is configured with the default tagDiv socials
– https://www.screencast.com/t/XM4JKAcw
This account information can be changed by editing the page with the tagDiv composer
– https://www.screencast.com/t/09D5HWg8nhl
– https://www.screencast.com/t/pYCbpXKEb
Using this guide to configure the counter
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
The other social counter on the page can be configured in the Widgets section. Please note that each social counter placed on pages or sidebars, has to be configured. They will not share data between them.
In the second counter I can see that the Facebook ID is not entered properly, clicking it links to an invalid profile page. Use only the Facebook ID in the required field
– https://www.screencast.com/t/dpuxauA1votN
The Twitter counter seems to be 1 follower behind, but it should refresh after a small period of time.
The YouTube configuration should be like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Xx7O33ur3
Which provides accurate information
– https://www.screencast.com/t/HdWnm6aewmLy
Please let us know if you have further questions or problems, and we will try to give you a solution as soon as possible.
Thanks
I fixed the issue. I didn’t realize that you needed a static front page to use the composers. Thanks for the help, and a good day to you 🙂
Hey Simon
”Only tagDiv composer will be added in the admin bar” that is exactly the problem. I have it installed and activated but it doesn’t appear in my admin bar, so I cannot edit my home page.
Thanks
Hi
After months with everything allright, suddenly Visual composer decides not to work. He gets stucks and impossible to use it. Anyone knows about that ? Thanks a lot, It’s quite urgent, I’ve several web with the same problem.
Hi,
You should use either tagDiv composer or Visual composer. Do not edit pages created in one of the composers, with the other. The tagDiv composer will automatically be installed and activated when the theme is installed or updated
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Visual composer has to be installed manually however
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Both will be displayed in the page editing backend
– https://www.screencast.com/t/TlpXziDMKGQ
Only tagDiv composer will be added in the admin bar
– https://www.screencast.com/t/VRvsIOkR
Worth mentioning that future theme updates will include many more features for the tagDiv composer exclusively.
Thanks
