You can use the in_category function and use the do_shortcode function as well if you plan to use visual composer shortcodes.
You wanted it to show at the top of every sidebar so you would place the code at the top of the sidebar file. like so:

Unfortunately, as Cris said you above, the official latest version of Visual Composer which is tested with the theme is 4.11 and this will come bundled with our new update. We need to check their new update of the plugin before launching and this lasts because our developers have to test it to work well with the theme. In near future update this version will be checked and available for use.

In order to achieve best results, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. After you have done this, please consult the guide below and then check your social counter and see how it works.

1) Please make sure you have the latest theme version: 6.7. If not, you need to follow this guide to update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

2) Having the latest version of the theme is not enough if you do not update the social counter as well. You need to remove the current version you use: http://screencast.com/t/4jvRwNzK and then install the version of the plugin that comes with the 6.7 theme: http://screencast.com/t/9AKKURjTjX
You can recognize if you have the correct version of the plugin when you see the new app key settings: http://screencast.com/t/CIXxklBanNl If you do not have these settings in your social counter it means you do not have the correct version.

3)You need to follow this guide to get the requirements from facebook:

Please keep in mind that the social counter is not a live count. It will update once every few hours.

Once you followed all the above steps properly and made sure you have not missed anything, (and the social counter still does not work), then you can send an email to contact@tagdiv.com with your login information so we can further inspect the issue. Also, please provide the link to this topic so we can know who you are and what the issue is.

1)If you want to have the latest version of Visual Composer 4.11, please update your theme to the latest version which was released today, 17th Marth. If you want to find more information about this update, please check this link -> http://tagdiv.com/newspaper-6-7-update/
2)If you want to change the font size for each your block title, you have to use a bit of CSS code to do this. Please try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

3)Depends on what you want to mean through “customise the look of the block title”. Please notice that is a Visual Composer element and you have to target the specific class in order to apply the desired attribute (you can try to customise yourself as I presented you above).
4)If you want to increase the height for your header, please try the code below.

5)Our related articles use a specific block to display the posts for this kind of feature. The block type is td_block_reltated_posts and it only used for related posts. I suppose that your duplicate images appear when you are using the smart list on your website, true? In this case, can appear duplicate images when you does not properly use this feature. Please try to set your smart lists according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-lists/ (for smart lists we recommend to use single template style 5 for posts for avoiding the duplicate images).
Another possibility in this case would be ->
Duplicate images on smart lists usually are the result of using the Photon feature of the Jetpack. If you use this feature please disable it as it is known to cause issues with our theme.
If the problem is still there, please try to disable all plugins except visual composer and clear your cache as other plugins could also conflict with the smart lists. Also, if you are using “strange” characters (!@#$%^&*/”- etc) in ALT tag, the image will be twice. I have added this issue to our list of fixes and in next major updates will solve this problem. Until we will fix this issue, please try to remove these kinds of symbols in ATL tag for better results.

It will not work in sidebars created in visual composer though(2/3 + 1/3 column layout) but on pages you can add it with a single image element.

Usually css issues are caused by plugin incompatibility. Please try to disable all your plugins excerpt visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then check your 404 page again.
If the problem is still there without plugins please provide a link to your website so we can inspect it.
