We recommend to be used for pages templates as in posts it may cause some issues so it is better for post content to be used by default.
Yes, we update also Visual Composer plugin after we make some test with our theme(we also use full version with no modifications) and it will be included in new version of the theme, you can find it in /plugins folder.

Please check this also without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. Also please disable any css/js minification.

I’m sure I’m one of the few people that actually use templates and tabs in Visual Composer. I even bought the Templatera plugin to do my own templates. There is a weird bug between v4.4.2 and v4.4.4 with tabs and templates in VC. In v4.4.4 when I add a template that has tabs, it for whatever reason adds 2 extra blank tabs. If I delete these 2 tabs, the GUI for the tabs actually changes positions and moves to the bottom, rather than the top of the tab content. I put together a short video demonstrating this. I have ruled out the Templatera plugin being the cause of this since the latest version doesn’t have this issue. It’s only if I use VC v4.4.4. If I downgrade VC to v4.4.2, everything is fine again.
Any ideas?

a) switch to default theme
b) deactivate visual composer
c) deactivate all plugins
d) switch on visual composer
d) under appearance > preview theme for newsmag — if it won’t ‘preview’ at all; then you need to do CLEAN install of the theme, td plugins, and visual composer
e) once you can ‘preview’ the theme, then you can activate it and it will work.
f) then turn on plugins and if it dies, disable the bad plugin

The menu is weird, and nothing works. Everything looks normal in the theme panel and is set-up as it should be, but clearly there is something wrong with the code.
Hi, well … it looks like there is some fundamental incompatibility with the 1.7x fork of NewsMag and/or Visual Composer – and our system. I was having repeat server hiccups the past 14 days on/off again, which I thought “might” be related to the update we did of mod_pagespeed around the same time as installing NewMag 1.6 on one of our two highest volume sites.
After numerous “turn things off and see what happens” … I ended up switching the high production site back to an icky version of our old Woo Canvas layout without all our customizations (e.g., it won’t keep sidebar on iPad portrait, home page sucks, etc.) — and we rolled back mod_pagespeed one version. Server returned to normal.
Only normal minor php green to yellow doing something like regenerating 10 years of content thumbnails or republishing 15,000 pages of static content (.shtml/SSI) on our #1 site (not running WP, except old version of Newspaper for my personal blog with 10 entries or less!).
Okay — so, today, thinking we’re back in black — I installed NewsMag 1.7.1B, switched on Visual Composer, switched on Newsmag, switched back on our home page from draft, set that as static front page. Within 30 min. server went from typical ‘2″ load to “32” load and starting kicking me CPU warnings.
Time: Sun May 3 18:41:33 2015 -0400
1 Min Load Avg: 22.51
5 Min Load Avg: 10.53
15 Min Load Avg: 6.12
Running/Total Processes: 31/1043
As the above went to “32” while I was refreshing on server console, I had to restart Apache, then “Killed” visual composer, switched theme back to Woo Canvas (waaaah! Canvas….) …. server back down to normal:

Last 5 minutes 1.19
Last 15 minutes 1.06
Not sure yet what to do. NewsMag 1.4 and VC were rock steady, 1.5/1.6 started to see some increase in issues, 1.7 in any flavor kills us entirely and is not usable for our particular system.
My options right now seem to be:
a) try using theme without Visual Composer, try the custom home page blocks method with widgets; see if server will eat that without choking
b) build a new theme ourselves based on bootstrap 3 + siteorigin … (waaaah!)
c) go back to hacking a custom version of Woo Canvas (waaaaah!)
d) go on vacation and let everything just melt and go out of business … (hmmm… tempting …)
So, was supposed to be working on my ecom system on Sunday, but dealt with this for six hours. Too much fun.
Not much of a simple solution on this one, for me, at least.
I suppose I could switch on the 1.71 theme without VC and see what happens…. hmmm…..\

I’m using newspaper theme only on mobile version of my site. My desktop site is Gavick, but mobile version is newspaper. So I succeded to redirect to newspaper theme, but problem is when I turn on Visual Composer my whole site goes down.
I’ve managed to put block via short code, but big slide is impossible. So can you help me please?

I didn’t add in the new JS_composer…that is likely the issue. I will try that, and then if that doesn’t work, I will try what you suggest.
I have WPengine – a couple questions:
1) There are 4 areas in Filezilla that contain the js and js composer. First wp-admin contains a folder labelled “js”, then wp-includes contains a folder labelled “js”, then under wp-content > plugins contains a folder called “js_composer” and then under wp-content > Themes > Newspaper contains a folder called “js” —> do I need to delete all four? Or do I just delete the folder called “js_composer” from the plugins, and then add in the new folder there?
2) How do I start up without any plugins, if once I delete and re-add the visual composer, none of my pages work? Should I disable all plugins, and THEN delete the visual composer?
3) Turn off all caching? I have WPengine as my hosting company, and I think they deal with the caching, no? I do not have any caching plugins – how do you shut off your caching?
4) Again, I think I would have to talk to WPengine about the RAM, yes?
Sorry for all of these questions, I really appreciate your help. My site is pretty active, and so I get pretty stressed when the site doesn’t work because it affects traffic flow majorly.

Well, VC does work
— obviously if you delete the old folder, you need to upload a new fresh copy — assuming you did that ?
Start up without ANY other plugins running; turn off all caching.
Make sure your server is setup for php to have at least 256MB RAM allocated to it.
Clear the cache in your web browser.
Typically best to update WP, before updating theme, in future… just a thought. Seems to work better than way.
If above doesn’t work, perhaps try:

I tried deleting via FTP, and still just brings me to blank pages (it doesn’t time out, even after clicking delete, the first couple seconds of me going to my website, its just all blank pages, won’t load).
Not sure what to do, as I need to modify the home page, and I am not able to because visual composer doesn’t work… :\

It’s happening again. I put an adsense ad in the top right sidebar widget and now there’s an awkward ad between the Main Preview area and ‘Latest Articles’
I did as you suggested and disabled all the plugins other than Visual Composer and the problem remained, even after I cleared my cache.
I took the ad that caused the problem out, but the issue remained.
So the problem is any time I put a new widget in the top right sidebar, it puts a related widget in that space.
Thoughts? I really need to fix this problem.

You can delete the js-composer folder in your wp-content/plugins/ folder via filezilla using the delete command ….
however, I run into this issue where it may “time out” and not finish…
this is a normal server issue with trying to delete too many files via ftp …
If you have a “filemanager” module in your web hosting account panel, it’s MUCH faster to navigate into your public docs folder (e.g., httpdocs or whatever), then go to that folder and check box, and click delete. Server can do it in one click.
FTP, you might have to open the stupid js-composer folder, select all, then click delete and might have to do that twice until folder empty.
Just went through that on 7 websites. The filemanager method MUCH quicker.
I have this issue with some browsers, and kind of inconsistent.
With IE11 it seems to come and go; with Chrome seems to work all the time (this is on Windows7).
There doesn’t seem to be a fix for the issue with ajax/visual composer in the admin panel, and or the admin panel/ajax working 100% of the time across all browsers.
With IE11, I can sometimes do the trick in the theme panel of ignoring the floating ‘save’ button, and instead scroll ALL THE WAY TO BOTTOM and then click the bottom “save” button, and then I more often get the checkbox success as saved.
This is not just theme related, btw. With the last couple of WP updates (4.2x), I’ve also been having issues SAVING WIDGETS with IE11, which has only happened before with a couple of versions of WordPress.
Upshot — Firefox has hiccups with java/ajax stuff; Chrome seems most stable for us these days, Safari on Mac “mostly” good, and IE11/Win7 is about 75% reliable with WP these days.
Probably doesn’t help.
Try fully clearing your browser cache/temp files — that does seem to help here.

We are getting a lot of fatal errors and white screens (which require a reload or 2 before website displays.
We have a dedicated server with the following guts:

We also have 128MB allocated in the php.ini
We tried deactivating ALL plugins except visual composer.. This did NOT stop errors.
We tried deactivating all except those included from tagDiv.. This also did NOT fix it.

Any assistance fixing these errors and the huge use of server resources would be most appreciated !!

I am trying to install the Visual Composer plugin, following advice on https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
I reach Step 5, after the zip file is uploaded, and I press install. I then have an error message “The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.” and the plugin is not installed.
Have I done something wrong or is this load limitation fixed by my hosting company (1and1)? I am new to WordPress and welcome any help or ideas.
Ah OK, I failed to realize all of that stuff was in the Visual Composer until I scrounged around looking for the menu seen in your screenshot. Thanks so much; the issue is fixed!

I’ve also tested this however this doesn’t happen so please make sure that you also test this right and also do it without using any plugins. Leave just theme’s Visual Composer plugins active and empty all caches.
Please also consider this that the Latest Articles sidebar gets sticky if the option from Theme Panel is enabled (like on your site – Latest Articles sidebar is sticky) but if you want also content sidebar to be sticky you need to add this extra class td-ss-row to the row like this: http://screencast.com/t/Nx6MqZW7FeAz

When you switch from classic to backend mode Visual Composer automatically adds your content in a text block.

I have checked this with latest version of the theme(1.7.1) so please update your theme(question 2 – seems that you use 1.7 version) and also update the plugins that come with the theme’s files from the /plugins folder. Use this guide to update your theme (FTP method) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/
Also disable all plugins, leave only Visual Composer active, clear cache and check if you still have this issue with block’s pagination.
2. It was an issue with custom ads in version 1.7 of the theme, but it was fixed in last update.

What error do you get in facebook debug tool?
Please check og: data in your page source. Also we recommend to use this plugin WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin because is the best for SEO as the theme doesn’t output automatic the og: meta data information.
You can also check this without any plugins, leave just Visual Composer and Seo by Yoast active, clear cache and then check if you still have this issue.

I’m not sure why you still have this issue. Please try to remove/reinstall Envato Toolkit – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/ maybe will work after. Also we will take a look at this in future theme’s updates and see if there is an issue.
If doesn’t work please try to update via FTP, just follow the steps from our guide and make a backup of your current theme installation. After you update the theme you have also to update the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder – https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/

That is part of WordPress core you’re using and not part of the theme; used to pull RSS feeds from other sources. You should deactivate your plugins other than Visual Composer to track down the “bad” plugin and/or remove any “RSS” widgets from your layout temporarily.
