Did you read the guides in the theme docs > tutorials section?
Did you review the “how to fix” on the GTmetrix page you linked to?
GTM provides explanations for each item you need to fix, why and suggestions. You just need to explore and look a little bit closer.
If you have trouble following website navigation, note the left side on the ‘documentation’ page here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/
note the ‘tutorials’ option in the list of topics?
that leads to various help and how to including DIY (do it yourself) guides, such as this:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/best-of-forums/
etc. 🙂
Good luck! It’s a learning process to be sure !
Hi,
Minification plugins can cause issue for all themes. Either by incompatibility or configuration. If that plugin is causing problems, it would be best not to use it. There are other ways of optimizing the website. You can search here on the forum for more information, there are many tutorials in this matter. Some examples

I followed your topic … really
I reinstalled a blank wordpress with the latest version 4.8.2, then I inserted your theme on it, I resumed everything, because with what you gave me I could not do anything, I always had the malware in my blog, so I started everything again, my blog was very small so it was much faster, with what you gave me I spent more than 15h trying to remove the malwares, without any result, but what I say about my previous message today is for a blank version of my blog
is it possible that sucuri guard does not remember the scan of the day since my blog?
Good day.
How come Mobile menu links are showing blank pages is this an error? This prevent us to use Mobie site plugin which is actually much faster and smoother than regular mobile site… Site moves annoying without Mobile site plugin.
Hi,
I have inspected the website, I see no delay like you mention delay for the loading of the filter, or the whole website

There are few seconds at most before loading, that is acceptable. There are many useful page speed guides that you can follow here on the forum

Hi,
1. Contact Form should not be considered render blocking. By default the Speedbooster plugin will move the plugin resources in the footer, this is tested and it should work properly
– https://www.screencast.com/t/djvztImzh
This is a useful guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
2. When the Speedbooster plugin is active, a minified theme JS is served, for CSS you could try this solution for example

3. Those images are displayed when there is no thumbnail for the post. If the posts have featured images set, they will be replaced by thumbnails created from them.
There are many useful speed optimization guides here on the forum, here are some of them

Hi,
This guide is helpful for improving page speed for the website
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
All the steps are described in it. The code you mention has to be entered in the theme functions.php file, located in the main theme folder
– https://www.screencast.com/t/d92cYc02b3X
Please note that the Speedbooster plugin will only work with a predefined list of plugins, as it may cause problems with others. More information here
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
You can try other optimization plugins for this purpose, and make tests to see if everything works properly.
These are some guides that you can follow, there are many others here on the forum

Hello bwebb,
I have checked your website on Google Page Speed Insights and it seems to be very poor, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/LyBHMbUM https://www.screencast.com/t/agLqdztuD It seems that your website is not optimized, sorry!
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit to our requirements.
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
One of our top members here on the forum wrote his own optimization tutorial here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/ and here -> https://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/
Basically, these are the theme requirements

Hello SW1988,
Unfortunately, I have tried to access your website and I cannot because I got this error -> https://www.screencast.com/t/lGgQRjkg Regarding on time website loading, notice that kind of optimization should have to be by yourself because we cannot provide custom work, sorry! You should follow the steps from the following useful manual, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello orlando,
Please make sure that you are using the latest theme version which can be downloaded from Theme Forest and install it via FTP way, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ For more information about speed optimization, please check the following topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Hi, yeah, I ended up deactivating a couple plugins that Kinda of helped the situation. In Firefox, Opera it’s speedy; plus, of all places, even faster on IE.
But on Chrome it’s intermittent and problematic. Have cleaned out the cache repeatedly on Cloudflare, Fastest Cache and in the browsers but very choppy in Chrome.
I don’t understand though the thinking: Main theme and child theme. Isn’t there a universal thought about the safety of using a child theme? Also, when I switch, I ended up without my settings. Nothing in footer, no menu, my sidebars screwy. I did try to import the theme settings from the child into the main theme but still didn’t catch. What then?
Tried it twice mind you. Clearing cache all over but nothing.
Hello,
Sorry but the page speed implementation has to be done by the user as it is more a server configuration than a theme related issue. We can provide a guide for you to follow but most of the needed configuration is done on the server side, not on the theme side.
Please read this guide for page speed optimization: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
As a note on speedbooster: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
If you cannot follow these steps, you will need to get help from someone who can do it for you as we cannot provide such services.
Thank you for your understanding.
I got another question to ask. The tutorial movies I see on youtube are using tagDiv builder. I use wordpress, and trying to change everything from the theme panel. Is it faster to use tagDiv builder?
Can I change setting from both in the future or I need to chose one or another?

Hello hungryng,
Please notice that our theme has two ways of using the theme in mobile mode. The first one is the normal responsive mobile theme which has the same functionality as on desktop version and the second one is with using the Mobile Plugin which gives another mobile status more ground, much faster. Please check the useful guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thanks for your understanding!
Well, we aren’t using that for normal stuff.
It’s the way http/2 works on Plesk/Onyx — so, that is the minor hiccup we’re still sorting out. I think it has to do with the way that NGINX can run the code faster without the Apache layer, and yet grabs and compresses the code running on Apache to serve the cached copy in compressed format.
What’s funny is that I bugged Plesk/ONYX about adding some kind of security setup panel to navigate the complexity, and they added a ‘security advisor’ plugin/extension to do a one click setup. Nice. Have not yet tried it, though.
It may be with new version we don’t have to deal with the NGINX stuff anymore, but that was how it was done initially. I’ve been kinda waiting for improvements on that, with intention of making it the baseline for January 1, 2018. December will be the test month. Right now, it’s house cleaning for php 7 as we have a lot of old creaky shtml stuff to retire!
