Hello iamkingsleyf,
Please try to make a new clean install with the latest version of the theme and install there all the required plugins and check the results. Please notice that all of these processes have to be done only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Try to clear all your caches and check the results. For more information about theme updating, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello!
Social Counter 4.1 does not show up in Safari on OS X. I just updated to the latest (25 May 2016) Newspaper theme and associated plugins.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Social Counter using the WordPress Plugins deactivate/delete/install function. I also removed/reinstalled the plugin via FTP. I do not use any caching plugins.
Anyone else having similar experience? Any suggestions or insight?
Thanks very much!
Peter

Please notice that all of these processes you will have to do only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Hello buczek,
First of all, please notice before each update we recommend doing a full backup for all your data to be sure in this regard. For more information about how you can do a backup, please check here -> https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups After doing this, you will have to make your update only via FTP because this is the surest method for updating. So, please notice that all your data is kept on MySql database and after you will come back on your theme using the latest version, all of them will be found there. Please notice that if you have some additional customizations through the code and the core file which these have been added was been changed, the new update will overwrite these files and you will lose these customizations and that’s why it is ok to make a backup.
Hope this helps!

Hello,
Please deactivate all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test the demos again. If the problem is still there, try to reinstall the theme via ftp and make sure you copy over all files:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hi,
You may have an incompatible plugin that causes this or maybe the theme update did not go as planned. The best thing to do is delete your theme and install it again fresh via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and rename the plugins directory of wordpress. This way only the theme will be active with no plugins. Test it out and see if the dashboard displays the same. If the problem is not there anymore, you can redo the plugin folder name and see if there is a plugin that causes this issue.(also clear any cache you might have on browser, host or cdn)
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello sfeaton,
First of all, please notice that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) because with it will come bundled the latest version of required plugins (Social Counter 4.0 and Visual Composer ->4.11.2). So, please try to delete your old of them from Plugins Area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/iBEN025fJP and then you will install these plugins from Theme panel->Plugins Area which comes bundled with our theme, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/cBh15u5sF Try to clear all your caches and now you have updated all these plugins. Please try to do all of these tips only via FTP because this is the surest method for updating. For more information about updating, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello surfa,
I have checked your source page again and I saw that your untested plugins are still there. Please try to DISABLE all the active plugins and leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme to rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, please try to bring the theme to have the default state, without any additional customization to avoid these cases. Please notice that our theme has been tested and does not have this behaviour on mobile version, as you can see in our demo here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ Please notice that our theme is very complex and has a lot of lines of code and if you are using some plugins which are not tested with our theme might appear a lot of unknown issues, like this case. So, if your problem is still there after these tips, please try to make a new install only via FTP with the latest version of the theme and check the results in the default mode.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello Donmartini,
Please try to do a fresh install via FTP because this is the surest method, in this case, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also, please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) and also, the latest version of the plugins, like ->Visula Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.0. Try to clear all your caches and test it again. Also, if you problem is still there after this advice, please try to make a new install from scratch and check the results there.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The end result is the same in both cases, it;s just the fact that the wordpress method relies on WP to unpack the archive and place the content in the themes folder. If you chose the ftp method you will have to access your files and place the newspaper folder (unzipped) inside the themes folder on your site. Generally the ftp method is safer as it does not rely on other software to install the files.
You can follow these guides to install the theme:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thank you!
Hello queencity315,
If you want to know what type of version you are having at the moment, please check like this -> http://screencast.com/t/vhvcc6rqHGv Also, please notice that you can update your Theme via WordPress but we do not recommend this way because it might appear some errors during the updating process and the theme will be broken. Always, please try to make your update only via FTP because this is the surest method for updating. Try to do this according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Hope this helps!

Hello OllieConnolly,
Please try to make a new install from scratch with the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) via FTP and check how the theme is working, without any customization (default state). Probably you may have some problems with your database which create these errors.
Please try this advice and let us know how it goes!

Hi all,
Where do I find the exact files that were updated? I’m having a few problems with my ftp server so I need to only update the files that have been changed…or is Newspaper 7 a completely fresh install?
Thanks,
Rita L
Hi,
What is the difference between installing theme via WordPress dashboard and FTP?
If I delete the theme from WP dashboard and then upload the .zip theme file, is it equivalent to uploading via FTP?
Please help.
Thanks!
Hello Gee95,
Please notice that you can use the both method, which you like. The first method with the patch could be a little bit harder than the simply update to the latest version. Also, you will have to do these changes only through FTP because this is the surest method in this regard.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The error message states that the folder you want to create already exists. please use the ftp method to update the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and for visual composer, please acces your plugin files via ftp and delete js_composer. Then install it again.
Revolution slider and visual composer cannot be “activated”. You can ignore the messages about the plugin activation as the version of the plugins that we provide with our theme are free versions that do not have activation codes, but work properly without it.
Thank you!
Hello duybinh202,
Also, please try to clear all your caches if you are using a caching plugin and test it again. Also, if your problem is still there, please try to make a new install and try to install your theme from scratch via FTP, without any untested plugins which could create a lot of unknown issues through theme and check after the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello rbaron0627,
Please keep in mind that always doing an update, we recommend doing a full backup for your data to be sure in this regard. For more references about backup, please check here -> https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Also, please notice that all your settings from the panel are kept on your database and only your additional customizations if you have, (through the code of the theme) you will lose because these will be overwritten with the new update. We recommend updating your theme only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. So, please make this according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
Please first try it without any plugins. Disable all of them except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. This will rule out a plugin conflict.
If the problem is still there, please try to reinstall the theme via ftp as something might have fone wrong when you updated/installed the theme. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/search/update/
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello andre.schetino,
Please ensure that you have right installed your theme only through FTP because this is the surest method in this case. Please try to make a fresh install, clear all your caches and check the results. Please try to update your theme according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Regarding on demos, please notice that could be a problem with the server loading. Please try again later and see how it works.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello ecua123,
If you want to update your theme to the latest version of the theme, you will have to do that only via FTP because this is the surest method for updating. So, before doing that you will have to download the new update file from Theme Forest using your unic account. After this, you will have to do a full backup for your data because it is more safety and then you will have to remove all your old theme and install the new update through FTP according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Regarding on your Translation, if you are using the https URL, please try to follow the next steps for your Translations. Try to load your desired translation from panel and then you can see in left corner of your browser, an icon with a shield and then try to Load unsafe scripts, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/aLm2aAFv5
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
Hi
The indicated file is not available in WordPress editor. You will have to edit the file on your computer then upload it via ftp on your serer in exact same folder.
Before making any changes make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install.
Thanks!
Hi,
The best thing to do in this case is to simply download the l;atest version and install it via ftp. The code was changed in such a way from your version that updating with the patches has the same result as simply updating directly. Please use this guide to update your theme to newspaper 7 directly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Please also make sure you update the plugins that come with the theme (visual composer and social counter)
Tbank you!
