1. We have currently the Newspaper installed version 4.6.1 and I see that there is a 4.6.3 available. How do we update our theme (we are not being asked to update on our WordPress site).
2. We have Visual Composer Version 4.4.4 installed. I see there is a 4.6 available. I’ve tried updating by not having any success.
Please can you help.

I just purchased newspaper theme and tried to install demo install but the installer stucks its not working help please!!!
also, i figured also this: I use the top 10 plugin https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/top-10 and after i install newspaper version 6.2 on my site, it’s hit on one post, count it doubled on top 10 plugin. For example: On jetpack stats and on “post_views_count” on wp_postmeta table, one post has 1.000 views (the real), but the top 10 shows 2.000 views.
I can’t provide you with a link because I am using a local installation. I found this other code, <?php echo wp_trim_words(get_the_excerpt(), 30); ?> , which I then put in M16 like this:

It works but I am not sure if it is good practice. Should I add anything else? Thanks!

on version 6.2 i activate the settings 7 days post sorting and ajax view count, but something happens and the 7 day post sorting doesn’t work

You will have to create your homepage and customize other settings.

I am new to wordpress and I installed Newsmag theme in my first blog, see here: http://livecrickethighlight.com. Anyone please help me remove the blank space above the latest posts section also I want the Ad box and block 7 (Fashion category) just above stay connected. and btw, I already tried the whole “uninstall all plugins” …that didnt work either.
I just updated my theme today to the latest version and I then deleted the old visual composer and uploaded the new one from the new theme installation page. Im trying the fashion demo but when I click on edit page it wont let me edit anything. It shows the cross symbol as if I can move the block but no pencil to edit the block. Plus when I try to add a new block its just showing me basic wordpress items, none of the theme items to add. =(
Hi, Installed the new social counter and it’s accurately reporting the number of Instagram followers. It looks like it should on Safari. But on Chrome and Firefox the social icons are missing.
And sometime a carat appears.
Newspaper 4 was fine and awesome. As soon as I installed newspaper 6, the slider starting working weird. It doesn’t really show up and sometimes it shows like some sort of weird new style. And I have a developer friend who begs to differ. He told me that there’s some sort of bug in the new version.

To get access to your site’s admin follow Chris’s steps.
Why wont you update to the latest version instead of 4.6.2 version? You just need to download it and update using the instruction provided below.
Updating the theme right shouldn’t cause you any issues so you can try to update the theme based on this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ backup your current install, run the import settings script, update plugins and check the result. You can always get back to the previous working theme version if something goes wrong as long as you backup it but doing the update as instructed the theme should work fine.
You should also consider into the process at the following aspects:
– backup your current theme/WordPress/database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
– setup a maintenance mode (if your site is live) and you can use a plugin for that.
– empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme
– disable all plugins
– install the theme then install the required plugins
– switch back the rest of the plugins and start other services

I’ve just installed the Newspaper Theme and also installed the child-theme.
I want to change the contents of the file: header-style-1.php, so i copied the file to:
Newspaper-child/parts/header/header-style-1.php
However, this file is never included (only main theme-file is used).
Also when i started debugging this problem, i end up in the method: td_api_header_style::_helper_show_header()
This method only loads files from the main-template and not from the child-theme.
Any help and suggestions would be great!
I bought the template today. if i want to install the Template it say’s ” the package can’t be installed. The theme misses the style.css stylesheet. ” installation failed.

Not sure what you mean and which of predefined styles you have installed. Please note that installing the demo stack(without content) it will import only settings like fonts, colors, no images to look the same like on demo stack. Did you installed a stack and did not changed the fonts, colors..?

Try this via FTP:
a) delete all themes from theme folder except the last 3 ‘twenty’ themes that come with WordPress — WP will default to a stock theme if no other theme installed
b) rename the plugin folder to xplugin
c) login to your WP admin; then go to themes and change theme to twenty-fourteen; this resets the transient setting trying to load old themes
d) then rename plugins folder back
I was having problems with my social counter because I was running v4.6.1, so I tried to update to 4.6.2 but I killed my site.
First I tried to update via the envato wordpress toolkit, it installed and I entered my username and API but it would just display an error message and I couldn’t progress to the update page.
So instead I followed the tutorial and switched to another theme while I downloaded, installed and activated the new 4.6.2 Newspaper.zip. This installed but now a message appeared on each page warning that social counter had to be updated, I tried to but it still wouldn’t go away.
I then switched to another theme, delted VB, Social counter and slider and reinstalled and activated 4.6.2 which stopped the warning message, but now no images were displaying on the site and the front page was displaying in just VB code.
I decided to uninstall 4.6.2 theme and reinstall the original 4.6.1 newspaper.zip but this killed my site completely.

I went to check on my website (I had the demo content for the video website installed). I have not changed any of the front-page settings and it looks totally messed up right now. Perhaps you can take a look at see if theres a way to revert it back to how it was without all of my hard work being destroyed.

thanks for the feedback – I’ve tried the steps you’ve suggested, but no luck. However I have been able to replicate the problem by creating a new (empty) post and adding a tagdiv gallery using the classic interface, it works fine. But when I switch to visual composer and add another section, for example a text block below the slider image is offset to the right, as well as the caption text immediately below the photo!
I’ve added some custom CSS to the page to fix it as a temporary workaround, maybe this can give you a clue as to what causes this. Are you able to replicate the same issue on your Newspaper installation, or is it just something specific to my setup?

This error appears from Visual Composer plugin, we have also added a ticket to the plugin support and we hope to be fixed in the next update.
About the blank pages you should not have this issue as those pages are automatically added when the demo is installed. Did you get any errors when you have installed the demo? Please provide more details and also you can uninstall and install it again – https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/ and make sure that you have installed and activate required plugins – http://screencast.com/t/1smZvGZccPs
