Hi Tommycreative,
If you are using the mobile theme – https://i.imgur.com/v6xXFSo.png, did you disable it on the homepage where you have the responsive version or the mobile page template?
Thank you!
Unfortunately, it is a separate app for mobile, I do not know how to help you, sorry!
It is the mobile theme, and it can be used in the above-mentioned option, and on the responsive theme, it can be connected as a part of the code to prevent the live search.
As for the normal wp search, this can be used only if is implemented in the theme or if you find a plugin for it.
Thank you!
Hi,
I see, this is a message for the mobile version. What it can be done is to set some padding for buttons and set a bigger text using CSS, or you can use the mobile theme plugin, which can be enabled from Newsmag > Plugins.
Thank you!
Hi,
The amp version is only used for the mobile version to deliver the website from the google cache. Once deactivated, the user will access the website directly.
Now some effects, there are users who claim that the amp helps them index and rerank on Google, but at the same time, there are also users who have dynamic content on the website and claim that for them the amp is not relevant and has no effect on the site.
Thank you!
Hello,
Usually, this happens with cache plugins. If the cache plugin does not have mobile support then the mobile theme version can be delivered instead.
The solution would be to use the recommended WP Super Cache plugin instead and activate these settings (especially the mobile device support): https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also, please make sure you have enabled the mobile cache if the plugin has this option
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Okay, but I do not use the mobile theme. We have a separate app for mobile users. So is the only solution to hide the search with css and look for an alternative plugin to handle search? If so, any recommendation on a plugin? Or how can I get the normal wp search to show?
Hello, I’m having issue with the mobile page… it keeps switching back to desktop site on mobile no matter what I tried… I thought the issue was with AMP, but i decided to delete amp and stick with the mobile theme… it displays for a while, but always goes back to Desktop site. I have sent my admin login to tagdiv to take a look, they were able to help, but just a day later, the mobile theme switched back to Desktop mode… this is very frustrating, especially given the fact that I just applied for Adsense and the website is currently under review. Someone please help… the website in question is http://www.sonicstadia.com
I’m not sure I understand your answer.
My question is: how will disabling AMP affect the appearance and performance of my web site on mobile devices?
Thanks!
Hello,
for the mobile version I use a mobile theme built through your modules. But the display problem appears only in the Home Page.
Hi,
I checked and seems you hide the single post view, not delete it -> https://i.imgur.com/UDxjqBZ.png Please select the viewport for mobile and delete the Single Post View with right-click.
Thank you!
Hello,
The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
A full explanation you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
Please note that if a page is made by Composer, then the content won’t be displayed on Mobile theme version. Check the case here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/amp-pages-not-shown/
If you use the Mobile theme plugin, then you can not edit the pages with tagDiv Composer.
There are no settings to customize the pages.
You have only some settings for this layout, which you can find in the Theme Panel -> Mobile Theme
Also, please check this topic where I explained each mobile version -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-version-not-working-properly-2/ and choose what mobile version you want.
AMP is very restrictive when it comes to the ads and to the content. What type of ads are you planning to use on AMP exactly? Are they compatible with AMP?
The most popular and widely used type of ads used for AMP are AMP auto ads from Google https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9261309?hl=en
We provide a field for entering the code https://i.imgur.com/2kAsROP.png
Also the mobile theme ad spots will load ads on mobile or mobile + AMP https://i.imgur.com/YEkMJ6N.png
Thank you!
Hi Anamaria,
No, no haven’t activated the mobile plugin, I think I deleted the shortcode from the single template….sure I did. 🙂
Hello,
Please deactivated the tagDiv Standard Pack plugin, to have this section in Theme Panel -> Mobile theme -> Post Settings -> https://i.imgur.com/KByBSSu.png
Thank you!
Hello Andy,
Please let me know if you have the mobile theme plugin activated.
Please let me know if you delete the shortcode or only hide it.
Thank you!
Hi,
I’ve turned post view counter off in the settings….

…and deleted the box where it sat from the single template…

it doesn’t show on desktop…

But it’s still showing on the mobile page….

What am I missing?, there is no mobile template loaded.
Thanks
Andy
I am using Newspaper theme. I have never used mobile phone version of this theme and AMP. My organic traffic and ad income have been falling for the last 2-3 years. Now I want to use both mobile phone version as well as AMP. Maybe this will help me increase organic traffic & ad income.
Before I do this, I want to learn the advantages and disadvantages and the steps involved in setting up mobile phone version of the theme and AMP.
Please advise and also share the related articles & posts in this regard. Thanks & Regards…..
Hello @chehabb !
If you need a short menu for your mobile version, then you can create another menu with only 3 categories, save it, and choose it only for your mobile version from that dropdown. In this case, you’ll have two different menus. Choose the full menu for desktop and the menu with three categories for mobile.
Thank you!
Thank you for your response.
How will disabling AMP affect the performance and appearance of my site on mobile devices?
Hi Anamaria,
How can I show this updated date info on AMP, I can see updated date on mobile theme but it is not showing on AMP.
Thanks,
Hello,
Seems you have the mobile theme and AMP are still activated on the website. Please deactivate those plugins and purge the cache a few times.
Usually, this problem is caused by the cache plugin, which doesn’t have the option for the mobile version -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Please disable the redirect from the mobile version to amp -> https://i.imgur.com/7Z7V82x.png using that option your visitors will never see the responsive version, only the amp version.
The AMP works better only with the Mobile Theme plugin. From my point of view, if you don’t use the Mobile Theme plugin, then there is no reason or benefit to AMP. Please read all about AMP here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-amp-plugin-tutorial/
It comes with its own templates/design for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Documentation here:
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/
Please read all about AMP here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-amp-plugin-tutorial/
Note that you can not customize AMP so much, because it comes with its own design.
There are some settings in the Theme panel -> Mobile Theme and Dashboard -> AMP only.
You can not add a shortcode as in the TagDiv Composer. Please note that you can’t customize the AMP pages with the TagDiv Composer.
Make sure the redirect mobile visitors to amp option is disabled.
Please check this topic where I explained each mobile version -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-version-not-working-properly-2/
Thank you!
Hi,
This option can be disabled only if you are using the mobile theme plugin – https://i.imgur.com/AxODtgi.png
Thank you!
Hi,
Unfortunately, this situation can be resolved only if the amp plugin is disabled, then all the views from mobile and desktop will continue counting.
Thank you!
Salve, sito https://tenacemente.com/
Su dispositivo mobile alla fine di ogni post c’è scritto “NO COMMENTS”: https://imgur.com/a/QxDFzFD
Vorrei sapere come posso eliminare questa scritta e se posso spostare prima la sezione “commenta”. Grazie
Hi,
I would like to add a separator line between the categories in the mobile vertical menu.
Please advise how to achieve the same.
