Newspaper is the most functional AND visually appealing theme I’ve ever tested. Most themes are one or the other. Newspaper is both. Unfortunately, until the SEO issues are resolved, I can’t use this theme.

The last time I checked Newspaper’s HTML5 implementation, it didn’t appear to be 100%. In the thread below I suggested some HTML5 changes:

If these HML5 issues still exist, it’s going to be harder to rank pages with this theme compared to ranking the same content in another theme that implements HTML5 correctly. With the same content and same optimized on-page SEO, Newspaper caused my organic results to drop.

This stuff isn’t hard to fix. You just need someone with proven experience with SEO, ranking pages, and theme development to review Newspaper.

I’m not posting this to give you grief. I genuinely would like to see the SEO improvements done so that I can use this theme again.

Of note, most of the top selling themes on Theme Forest have HTML5, header tag, and/or alt tag issues when I checked last year. One of the top themes was <H1> multiple times on a post and was using <H2> in the sidebar! lol

Thank you. the following problem arised – I left only the name and comment fields in the comment form, BUT some part of the code says that the email field is required and now I cannot submit a comment. I reviewed the comment.php code but cannot find anything about this. Can you please guide me ?

1. The preview doesn’t work (is the Visual Composer activated when we buy NewsPaper 6 or do we have to pay extra for it?)
2. I clicked the publish button but now I don’t know how to place that grid in my entries pages?

All theme’s blocks have a fixed layout and changing the actual functionality it’s not an easy task. You can try to customize the block 16 to achieve a two colons layout in sidebar: http://screencast.com/t/bb6AJZxd

Note that I’ve made only a quick test using this code and I can’t guarantee that it will work fine in every situation and on each browser. We don’t recommend changing a block layout as it can cause some issues.
The theme was designed to display only the stars, not the overall score on modules. To change this are required some customizations in function which generate the reviews.
We can’t offer customization services at the moment so if you still need guidance on this or you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you.

Thanks for sending me the above code, I have modified it to how I need.
The only other changes that I need to make are in this screenshot:

As you can see, I want to change these two things:

1) RED ARROWS: I need the block titles to float all the way to the margin left as I have done with “review title” (this was done on Photoshop).

2) BLUE ARROWS: I want to change the actual FONT of everything in blue. At the moment they are set to OPEN SANS. Where can I change this so I can choose a different font?

For the headings, this is perfect. How can I float the titles so they align left? I will be making the review block title transparent.

Also, I would like to know how to change the actual font typeface. I can’t find this option in the panel?
