You can try any method you want, and decide which path to follow for these customizations. I thought you would find the respective topic useful as it is related to what you are trying to achieve. You can make your modifications directly to the theme files, but if you were to update the theme you will lose them.
The theme will load the default comments unless removed or replaced as shown in that topic

Question 1. Can I copy includes/td_config.php file from Newspaper theme to Newspaper-child theme?

You cna also switch to php 7.0 (only if you use the latest version of the theme. right now you have 7.6 so you need to update your theme as well) as it is faster than the previous version.

Almost in every case plugins are to blame. I have tested your website on iphone and I see the problem. On Android phones using Chrome browser it displays properly. I would suggest as a test, to disable all the plugins except Visual composer, clear any caching installed, deactivate the child theme if you are using one and check again. Also make sure you have updated all the plugins provided in the theme package and you are using. Please let us know how it goes.

Yes, the 7.8.1 update was only for the plugin updates. We will release a new one in the coming days for bug fixes.

Yes we just released an update including the latest one from VC but I;m not sure they made any implementation regarding the post grid. It is a security fix as the changelog suggests: https://www.screencast.com/t/bktyUbPZ6O
You can try to use our own blocks and grids in order to have better control over the content. Our page builder still has the same shortcodes and the same sorting options and filters only it’s moved to the front-end.
The custom page builder is included in our side-project named ionmag and can be downloaded from here: https://www.wpion.com/free-news-theme/ then you can install the page builder from the free theme. However we do not recommend using both visual composer and our own page builder for the moment. It is still experimental on neswpaper and newsmag.

Please note that at the moment such a feature is not available. If this request becomes popular or regardless it is considered as an option, it will be implemented in the theme. Each update is meant to improve the theme features and options, and the list of suggestions and recommendations is forever increasing. There can not be an update containing all these suggestions at once, this will happen in time.

Right now I had to just hard code pictures and links, but that is not a good long-term update.
I also see that there is a VC update available. Maybe you can push that sooner than later? Not sure when you get access.

This might be a really obvious question, but I have looked all over. Do we have a place that we can look to find the change log or release notes for each update for the Newspaper theme? Forgive me if this is a dumb question.
You likely want to contact ThemeForest to get your account login and password reset so you can re-download current versions, which you’d need to do even if using the Envato toolkit which requires you to login to your account. Probably sending Envato your license code they’d be able to update your account for you.

Hello, Is it possible to update theme directly from WordPress, without downloading again from Themeforest? I was using a browser extension to store passwords and lost all the passwords and not able to access Themeforest. I am not able access my Email account which i used to create account on themeforest.
So I was wondering if I can update theme directly from WordPress? I have also purchased Easy Social sharing button which has a feature to update plugin directly from WordPress.
Please help to update theme. I have purchased this theme few years ago. my site is also listed in your showcase.
