I just need to know will I lose changes when theme is upgraded. For example, if I edit files td_block.php, td_block_1.php, td_block_3.php, style.css what will happen with those files when upgrading theme to new version?
Is it possible to change those files and save it somewhere in wordpress/theme folders where they will override any further update of those files. Something like that is possible in joomla, I don’t know for wordpress.

Woocommerce sytem status says thes files are out of date
Newsmag/woocommerce/archive-product.php version – is out of date. The core version is 2.0.0,
Newsmag/woocommerce/single-product.php version – is out of date. The core version is 1.6.4

The whole purpose of having a child theme is to not lose your main theme customization by updating. If these modifications are not working anymore after a theme update, the code used needs to be checked and adapted.
If you would kindly provide more details about what your suggestion, and the improvements it may add to the theme we will take it into consideration.

I have inspected you website and it seems to load poorly indeed. From what I can tell the website is taking a lot of time loading the cache you are using – https://www.screencast.com/t/DxOwNzhYt7x and almost half a second for each image on the website. Adding those together results in the present situation.

What you could try is use the recommended cache plugin with the settings specified here

You can try a fresh theme install with the latest version using one of these methods

Then install only the plugins provided in the theme package. Also take a look to the guide about improving page speed, provided above. Please let us know how it goes.

Thank you for your response. I tested with MAMP and you are correct. The settings stay when I do a theme update so my issue would lie within either the WP install on my live server or a corrupt database as you said. Thank you! I will contact my hosting company for support.

I updated the visual composer to the latest version located inside your new theme installation.
Sadly, this option isn’t present yet.
I found the error! Missing files “it_IT.mo” and “it_IT.po” in the Translations folder. You can place these files in the next update; in this way I do not include them by hand again. I thank you and await your confirmation.
Please also update the social counter. This update was destined for updating the 2 plugins. Please update both.
As for the colors, you did not mention where you want to change colors. Please provide more details.

The theme can have an automatic update but only through the envato plugin. Premium themes cannot be updated through wordpress as plugins can.

I don’t believe there is an option to show or hide this option. Maybe you are using a different Visual composer then the one provided in the theme package, because this capability is available by default. Try updating your Visual composer plugin to the latest version using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Hi, Just updated to Newsmag 3.4 and found that all my posts with Style 6 Post Template has a messed up featured image (the one on the top), as in the image does not cover the whole width anymore

I know that I can modify original theme files but I don’t want to. 🙂 What I’m asking is you doing this, not me. So the theme gets more functionality and I don’t have to track some modifications which each theme update. It’s not something special to me, it may be useful for all Newspaper users.

Yes you can tie into the function in the main theme. You will have to adjust your modification after each update though. Tr it out and see how it goes.

Is it possible to update the td_block_mega_menu.php file so that when I use the Mega Menu and the “All” option appears along with the relevant sub-categories, clicking on the ‘All’ option is redirected to a different URL?
The reason I am asking this is because rather than ‘All’ going to a combination of all the sub-categories, I want the ‘All’ to go to a Destinations landing page.
To try and explain this a little better, the menu item is a custom link titled ‘Destinations’. Clicking on this would take visitors to a page with a map and a list of destinations. The ‘Destinations’ custom link is a mega menu with sub-categories of 5 different continents. However, the ‘All’ option which I am fine being in there I want it to go to the same URL link as ‘Destinations’.
Any assistance on what needs to be changed here?
Since last update the styles.css file has become too big.
For example I am not using bbpress or instagram or even woocommerce – why would I want those styles to be loaded? Also I am not even using all blocks and module – it would be nice to have the styles.css dynamic somehow.
If for example I am not using instagram, why would that css show – why not take it out?
Is this even possible?
P.S. I know you will point out that the template is scoring great, true. But when I am not using even half of it’s features – and it would be even faster than it is – who wouldn’t want that?
Please make these things dynamic!

I know it, but Easy Social Sharing plugin is also hosted on Envato Market. But After you activate plugin with Purchase code it is possible to update plugin directly from WordPress. It get updated like any other normal plugin. SO I was wondering if something similar is possible or will be possible in future?
You can’t update theme directly from WordPress as it’s not hosted on the WordPress servers, but on Themeforest, so it has to be updated via the ThemeForest server — or via FTP when you download it.
