To add a Facebook like element on a page – https://www.screencast.com/t/Te4v6VJNU in a page structure simply insert it in the location you want and update the page, clearing the cache after adding the widget just to be sure. Try to make other changes to the homepage, and check to see if they are saving. This will not affect the proper functionality of the theme as the block template applies to all blocks at once.
The first block template td_block_template_1.php was the old one created a long time ago and in the previous updates we added the other block templates which got new classes. We did not change the classes for the first block template though as it does not result in any change on the front-end but it will not break people’s customization. We prefer to add to our theme rather than change existing code (as much as possible) as this causes lots of people to loose their custom code that was created on the existing theme classes.

Honestly how is this issue not even resolved? Buddypress are lazy idiots or what? I’ve seen this question 1000 times all over the internet, yet the solutions are few if any. Why are there TWO avatars? I think maybe for future updates Newspaper theme should look into making working with BuddyPress more seamless. Or I think Buddypress should update their software. Why on earth would any developer think having TWO admin bars and TWO avatar areas improve UX? They should be combined. Buddypress is a top 5 plugin, and yet this is a major oversight.
I just login to check the plugins and I noticed there was a plugin update for Minify HTML plugin. So I updated it and it has fixed the problem.

To test breadcrumb behavior, you can also replace the theme breadcrumb with the yoast breadcrumb in your chosen post template and see what happens. Or use the nifty navxt breadcrumbs.
Also be aware Google is doing a major update this month targeting low quality sites which only clone/copy other content and originate none of their own. Such sites will see deprecation in rankings, SERPS, and they may over-ride anything you do regardless of theme/format if you have such a site.
If the current breadcrumbs don’t throw an error in Google document check, and have the correct modern schema, then it’s not an issue with the breadcrumbs.
It might be change of theme for March is coincidental with Google major SERPS update for March targeting certain types of sites (e.g., Google the “fred” update as one bit of info on the topic).
Could be simply Google re-indexing your site.
Be sure to resave permalinks, clear transients, clear/reset all caching/CDN (destroy all old copies basically), resubmit sitemaps to Google via search console. This makes sure you’re “back in sync” with actual pages vs cached pages in Google archive.
Just food for thought after 22 years of webdev and playing with search engines. Might have nothing to do with your issue, but it might depending on how site setup, et al.

Hi,
I know the default background adv. I can’t use the default background because it’s impossible to track impression and clicks. With the latest update, something change in the <body> and I have to write from zero all the ad code fro the background image. I can’t understand what’s going wrong.
Is there a possibility to pay for custom support for this issue?
Or find some work around?

My TagDiv galleries that came packaged with the theme aren’t working properly. I think it was after moving to https and recent theme updates.
When you scroll through the gallery the main photo doesn’t display after the first couple (the rest are black) but you can see the thumbnails in the bottom row.

I have also deactivated all plugins and still does not work? Any ideas on this thanks
This happened after I updated to the latest version of Newspaper before that it was okay.
Should I turn off the plugins and see if the problem goes away.
Can you see the words / links together on your computer?
The only other thing I did was use WP Optimise plugin maybe that did something to the database?
Should I rewind and put the old Newspaper back on again?

The theme includes a license for this plugin so you don’t have to buy it.
You don’t have to activate the plugin license, it’s already activated.
You can’t update Visual Composer directly from it’s producer.
You don’t have to worry about the plugin update warnings.
We provide updates on a regular basis, after we test the plugin for theme compatibility we include it in the latest theme update, inside the ../plugins folder

I couldnt update Visual Composer plugin from 5.0.1 to 5.1,
1. I deactivated from plugins and deleted the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin from FTP
2. I installed the plugin from Newspaper-tf/plugins/js_composer.zip
3. “To receive automatic updates license activation is required. Please visit settings to activate your Visual Composer. ”

Sorry Sofia, but the Instagram widget does not have a description functionality. I think you meant captions though as Instagram allows captions to be added to photos. I will add this to our list for future updates and if this request grows in popularity we will consider implementing it into our theme.

Well if it worked and now it does not, maybe some recent changes are interfering with the social counter plugin. Try to disable all your plugins except the ones bundled with the theme and check again. If you do not have a caching plugin installed, the hosting server may have caching active. But you should also consider updating your theme to the latest version, as well as the required plugins and wordpress too.
