The server says “it happens when we update your php.ini file to the suggested values”
There is a warning in the theme saying “1000 – the max_input_vars should be bigger than 2000, otherwise it can cause incomplete saves in the menu panel in WordPress. To see how you can change this please check our guide here.”
And the suggested values in the support of tagdiv for php.ini
max_input_vars = 5000
max_execution_time = 300
post_max_size = 50M
upload_max_filesize = 50M

the visual composer is very heavy on my site and the admin panel – when editing pages – is very slow and sometimes doesn’t work well (for example I can’t save anymore my home page because wordpress with visual composer enabled seems to freeze the update function – I click on the button but nothing happens)
there’s a way to optimize it or to find an alternative more light?

I changed link in wordpress panel (I dint double checked all links after I moved it to new directory) options/media/ and updated link to uploads file on server
however thanks to you I changed memory to 64 so I think I prevented some problems in the future;)

When I click on the next page arrow to see my older posts it makes my screen go clear to the top of the website rather than showing me what should be on the next page. I’m not sure what is going on with it. I’m only using plugins that have been tested with the theme. Was there a theme update that might have caused this?

In my theme, I will make tags for my posts/pages they will appear, but when I go to publish/update they will disappear as well, they do not show up in the post manager box.
Help please.

Problem is newsmag is only compatible with the mainstream browsers and there is no interest on increasing compatibility beyond that.

I do not understand how you put the selling themes that are in old and outdated versions.
I bought your theme yesterday, if I knew I had to make so many changes (which I do not even know where to start) I certainly would not buy difficulties.
There is no updated version of its theme?
In my Envato account only appears old/outdated versions, and not exist ZIP folder called Newspaper-tf.
If there is not unfortunately I have to request refund

I update the wordpress on 4.7.1 and Newspaper on 7.6.
And i see a mistake on the slide content. The image does not take full width..why ?

Unfortunately updating from a very old version such as newspaper 4 will need some elements to be recreated. the sidebar implementation was changed, some elements from the old theme were removed, some elements were added and so on. You will have to re-create your pages in visual composer. The post templates, the header styles, the footer styles, they will all be different as they have been changed over the years. Sorry for the inconvenience but updating from such an old version will require a bit of extra work to do as it will not be a smooth update such as updating from version 6+ to 7+

Thanks for sharing this. I have checked into this and there seems to be an issue causing this. I added it to our list for future updates.
As a quick fix, you can add this code in the theme panel-> custom css box:

width:100%!important
}

I have an issue with the “most popular post” widget, that needs Jetpack statistics: Since the update to the latest Jetpack version (4.5) there is no content at the frontend widgets. As I also don’t get all the data at the backend Dashboard, I guess the problem is more Jetpack-related than a bug in the theme. But does anybody else have a similar issue?

In a future update, it is possible but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. Itâs hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though.

Hi,
You could try to remove the page title or change it as a test – https://www.screencast.com/t/u9fh11hpw and update the page then preview it and see if it is affected. If it’s still there it must be a cache issue, try clearing the cache, also disable all the plugins except Visual Composer and see what happens regarding this issue.

I copied the site to staging (testing) environment and followed your instructions. The theme is now updated to version 7 but the frontpage is broken and not at all including the styles/data/customization from the old theme. Is it not possible to keep these settings during the update process?

Things that bothers me:
1. How to save / create the import, I can chose from ; Post, page, Taxanomies, users, grid, VC Templates, cust. CSS
I can save to pages or post no problem. But I dont need the info on pages, I need it to load in different pages vc templates. Or in sidebar areas in this template.
so 2. How to get this imported info out to my template pages buildt with VC Templates. I think maybe this is called to load..:-)
So I will automatic run imports every day, info needs to go to 50 different pages(VC templates) and update…
Any thoughts You have..:-)

If you have newspaper 4, then the you will have to update via ftp. Delete your current theme and then do a clean install of newspaper 7 You install it just like installing a totally new theme because there is no way to update from the old version of the theme. Simply delete newspaper 4 from your install, then install newspaper 7 and run the update script from here: https://www.screencast.com/t/hihjLTqM

Can I at least update it’s name to something meaningful to my visitors? It’s pretty bad now as if I remove it I still get featured stories on my mobile site
