Hi,
We use xampp installs for testing, we didn’t tested other tools so i cannot recommend you something else.
First backup the site files and database, in case something goes wrong you just use the backup to restore the site. Usually c-panel comes with an option for this, or you could do this manually – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
You can’t keep the old theme in the same folder, you either delete it an install the new one or move it to another location.
In v6.1 we fixed some of the issues which were reported on v6.0:
[ Version 6.1 ]
- improvement: added global colour for block headers in General theme colors section
- improvement: now you can change the fonts on Lists in post content from Theme panel
- improvement: added .screen-reader-text class for better usability
- improvement: visual composer updated to the latest version
- improvement: better documentation + first video tutorials
- fix: UI improvements, key images now have a specified height, this prevents repaints and it makes the page appear that it loads faster
- fix: unique articles work now as expected
- fix: better review import from version 4
- fix: speed booster 4.1 works better now + buddyPress fix
- fix: big grids on iOS where missing titles until touch
- fix: block 20 css fix + speed booster
- fix: content bottom and top content ads css fix for safari, firefox and IE
- fix: various css fixes
- fix: social counter instagram
- fix: main menu z-index
- fix: missing Ajax filter option for IOS slider
- fix: visual composer single image block alignment issues
- fix: space issue when turn off the top menu on header style 12
- fix: the ajax dropdown filter sometimes disappeared when the mouse was moved down to select ca category
- fix: ajax filter - was deselecting all the selected filters from the page on click
- fix: better alignment on reviews
We may consider releasing beta versions in the future, thanks for your suggestion.
Thank you!

I dont have those files … I have much less files in my /includes/wpbooster/
Also searching in explorer didnt show anything called like this?
Why do you have to many files in your wpbooster and I not?
And as it seems, you suggest a core hack. Will you change this in the next update by yourself to make the theme child-friendlier? Please make your theme child-friendly, since this is superimportant.
If not, is there also a solution to overwrite this function from within the child’s functions?
Hi dazburn,
this is a small update that should work as expected. We have an update guide here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
As of now, the theme does not support auto updating form panel.
Hi,
Please edit the functions.php file from Child-theme and add like here: http://screencast.com/t/yN9NzaOd
Thanks! We will fix this in the next update.
About the script i’ll need to update, where do i get it? Do i need to download it before updating?
I was using “Responsive Lightbox” plugin but it is also not compatible anymore. Please either release a compatible template or enable Modal:On for all images in settings so that we do not have to use external plugin. If you had thousands of images, you cannot do it one by one. A soon update of this will be appreciated.

Hi guys,
After almost a year using Newspaper theme i’m still admired we don’t have a sticky post working as a voluntary directory of websites running Newspaper. I think that, despite customization (and even for that) it would be great to share how broad and creative the usage of this powerful theme has gone.
I must also say, as someone who had almost no skills in building a website that Newspaper was a one shot (100% lucky) option when i started, which has been fully delivering through support and constant upgrading. Sure there are some problems here and there, my regular posts asking for help are there to show it but overall Newspaper is just superb and i’ve been approach more than once by people asking which solution were we using on our wordpress site.
Note: since i don’t believe in luck too many times in a row i’m taking the exciting Newspaper 6 update with caution, wayting for TagDiv to go through all their updates and corrections before I do something i might have trouble in undoing, at my level of skill.
So here it is, i make the first step in what i think it would be a great idea, allowing us to share ideas, creativity and understand the full potential of this theme:
http://goalpoint.pt (Portuguese) – owned by GoalPoint Partners, a company focused on football (soccer) performance analysis/stats. The website has been a major setpiece and means to show our ability to provide the services and content in a regional market where our approach (mostly statistical) was non-existent.
Hope others join this bandwagon so it deserves a “sticky”. It would be great to see the list of websites and thematics grow as days go by.
With the update to 6.1 my homepage has shifted a bit to the left on mobile cropping out a letter and leaving a little white space on the right side. Any clue?
Be sure to update to the 6.1 version that went live today, as they may help.
No, if you are running version 1.71 you don’t need to run a patch. You can see the “version” you’re running when you look at main screen of your theme admin panel. 🙂
If you’re running version 1.7 you can update to 1.71 following the theme docs on “how to upgrade” … simplest answer. See link to Documentation > Newsmag right side of page.

Hi,
This is the same problem I’ve been having since I upgraded and updated. The icons for editing individual blocks are not there. I can only move or delete whole blocks but not edit. Please help. I haven’t been able to use any of the really nice looking homepage templates.
I also have a notice on my dashboard that says: “Important notice: You have an outdated version of Visual Composer Design Options. It is required to review and save it.”
Any help to fix this will be appreciated.
@neakriti Thank you. I commented out those lines so far no issues however I have a feeling that I should not have to do that – dont really get why this issues with the plugin started with the latest update
This has nothing to do with theme updates. You apply this to your theme panel on the Custom CSS section. No matter how many updates you do this remains the same and intact.
Is this something that we’ll be able to select a default for in the theme panel in the future? Modifying works as a quick solution, but becomes troublesome to keep up with when applying regular theme updates. Thanks for the info.
Yes, this fixes the problem when it comes to desktop screens. When reducing the width of the browser, the problem re-appears.
It would be nice if we had an out of the box fix for that problem in the next update.
