Hi,
1. I have also tested this and did not found any issues with block 7 pagination when background is set – http://screencast.com/t/vv9FR4Px6
I have checked this with latest version of the theme(1.7.1) so please update your theme(question 2 – seems that you use 1.7 version) and also update the plugins that come with the theme’s files from the /plugins folder. Use this guide to update your theme (FTP method) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/
Also disable all plugins, leave only Visual Composer active, clear cache and check if you still have this issue with block’s pagination.
2. It was an issue with custom ads in version 1.7 of the theme, but it was fixed in last update.
Thanks!
Thanks, waiting for the update.
Concerning my first issue, have you any solution please?
b.
Hi,
I’m not sure why you still have this issue. Please try to remove/reinstall Envato Toolkit – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/ maybe will work after. Also we will take a look at this in future theme’s updates and see if there is an issue.
If doesn’t work please try to update via FTP, just follow the steps from our guide and make a backup of your current theme installation. After you update the theme you have also to update the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder – https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Thanks!
Hi,
We know about this issue that appears when you use site background and also homepage background. We will fix this in future updates, please use this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css to fix it: http://screencast.com/t/WhBYq3QxAQM
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-boxed-layout .td-big-slide-background {
width: 100%;
}
}
Thanks!
I don’t know why, but since the last update of WordPress (I think so) my open graph images stopped working in new posts. Old posts are working and does scrape the image, but on new posts I can’t manage to show them.
I used the debug tool of facebook and no success…
Has anybody experienced a similar problem in the last week or days?
I would appreciate some help.
Regards!
Even without plugin occurs. Is a problem appeared when we updated the theme. It also happens when we shorten the browser. Look here -> https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22334399/Schermata%202015-04-29%20alle%2023.26.35.png
I couldnt get it to work with it. But still working on; will keep you updated.
A lighter theme for mobiles would be great, without the whole code of the Desktop-Site. That would speed up the whole thing!!! 🙂
Just my two cents.
Btw…can you tell us some improvements/features you guys have on your list for the next update?
The main question I am asking, is when the update will be available through the wordpress admin area in “Envato Toolkit” area – doing an update this way is much easier for me, so I was wondering when and if it will be available there?
Hi,
Yes @Steven, we are aware of the new update.
According to their updatelog the new version has several new options, features and fixes: http://screencast.com/t/YSkaH26MyY
We will test it and include it in the next update.
Thanks
Hi,
Get the latest theme version available on themeforest now. The theme has been update yesterday but as it was just a minor change we haven’t announced it as an update is usually notified. You can check the theme’s product page, you’ll notice there that the last update is today: http://screencast.com/t/m4fWhIsdF0jX – http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Thanks
Hey, any updates on when the sticky sidebar will be available?
Thanks 🙂
Ok, i attend the updates, thanks a lot 🙂 Have a nice day !
Hi,
@pet76 If you use 1.7 version of the theme you can copy only the patch files.
Also if you want to make a full update please follow this guide and use FTP method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/ and also update plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder.
@hintzebros and @pet76

Hi,
First please make a backup to your current theme installation if you update so in case something goes wrong you can revert back to it. Major change was in version 3.7 so this isn’t affect you.
Please follow our guide to update and use ftp method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/ also please update plugins that come with the theme’s files-you can find them in /plugins folder. Also you will have to update the child theme to the current version.
You can take look here and you will find all changes till current version: http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609 or you can find update log file in the theme’s files that you downloaded from themeforest – http://screencast.com/t/d0AsC4FWlQe4
Thanks!
Hi,
Unfortunately theme doesn’t have an option to force modal image on default, only for featured image has an option for this – http://screencast.com/t/wrFd5qkN
We try to find a solution to have an option in Theme Panel also for content images in future updates.
Thanks!
You might check your hosting provider to see if there are any special requirements such as custom permissions.
You can see your “version” by going to the “dashboard” in WP, and/or going to the second menu item on left of WP … “updates” (drop down under “dashboard”) — it will tell you if you need to update or not.
Normally to update automatically, you will need to either
a) enter in your FTP password and IP (common when you installed it yourself)
b) click update – if the program was installed by hosting panel
if (b) applies to you an it won’t work, you might need to put in support ticket with your host.
Latest version of WordPress is 4.2.1 — most host panels will auto-update it if the host panel installed it in first place (e.g., if you didn’t manually install it yourself).
Maybe your right Cris and should I post this to stackexchange. I thought I could give it a shot here since the themes view counter didn’t work for a long time and alot of people, inluding me, used the workaround as suggested by tagDIV. I hadn’t updated the theme in a while and thought maybe there are people who already ditched the two extra plugins and ran into the same problem as I have now. I can’t be the only one who want to use the theme’s counter, but doesn’t want to lose the views on older posts.
I’ll just wait and maybe someone can help me out. Chris, how did you fix this problem on your sites? Or are you still using the plugins as suggested by tagDIV?
This VC plugin is a big pain in the moo,as fast you guys update to the new version,the author bring out another update,now it’s 4.5
Hi,
I was checking in with a client to make sure they had updated WP core and plugins due to security vulnerabilities. See that they have also not updated theme and are at Version: 4.2 with a Child Theme.
I want to update them to the latest version of the them but wanted to check first to see if anything special I should be aware. Where can I find the changelog for all of the version updates? Also, in the “how to update the theme” documentation it mentions “How to update Newspaper from V2 to V3” – is 4.2 V2 or V3?
Thanks!
I have updated wordpress to 4.2.1 and Newspaper to 4.6.3 and since then I am having problems with uploading media when adding new post. Upload works fine if I go to media/upload, but the upload is not working if I try to upload (add) directly when working with posts.
Any idea?
Hi Emil,
Still haven’t received any update message, and nothing has changed in the Envato Toolkit area.
Maybe by tomorrow morning it’ll be up..
Best,
Carly
Hi Emil,
This is exactly how I used to update the views, but I really want to get rid of those two ajax plugins to count the views since the theme is able to do it correctly itself. So the theme reads the views from the custom field “post_views_count”, but my older posts have their view counts in the custom field “views”. I now want to use the theme’s counter, so to show the correct views on older posts I want to copy the values from the “views” custom field to the “post_views_count”. How do I do this? I want to use the theme’s counter so I can delete the two other plugins but I don’t want to lose the views on older posts!
Disqus works with comment counts on posts, but not on author page.
Disqus “writes” counts to WP datafield used by WP native comments; which is then read by theme.
HOWEVER – Disqus plugin has not been updated for WP 4.2x or the recent security changes to WP due to the major “comments” XSS vulnerability, so there may be some current “break” between what Disqus is doing and the WP backend — it’s NOT managed by theme in any way.
I usually just comment out the comment item on the author template, but works everywhere else.
I would guess there should be Disqus plugin update soon. Or, you can try one of the new alternate plugins which use Disqus API but add lazy loading and other cool things.
Hi,
