Hello,
URL: https://prive.tipsmaker.net/ (staging)
Old URL to be updated : https://www.tipsmaker.net/. (Theme V.9)
Theme version 10.4
Updated from 9.xxx and i can see few new css files like “legacy” etc.
A good page example where the problem described below is happening
https://prive.tipsmaker.net/efage-gero-soto
In order to override css files i created a style.css in child theme’s folder. Styles from this file do not overide all default css.
As far as i can understand using Theme panel’s Custom code filed is the only way to override all css files. Including legacy_css files etc.
And it works. It is very incovinient to edit this field instead of a custom file, nevetheless it works.
BUT when the site loads, it first loads the default css and then changes to the css used in Custom code.
Widths load default and after a second they resize to the custom style.
Even with cache enabled.
How can i change this behaviour ? While the theme is great, this one gives a very bad impression to the visitor.
cheers
Pan
Hi, After I update a post with video, feature image and video preview is not being generated.
The post format is set correctly and we tried severeal video sources (youtube, Vimeo, etc).
It’s an important feature for us.
I also would like to know why isn’t the sticky video feature available on home page and pages. It works only inside posts pages.
Is there any way to enable “play video on scroll”? Using a third party plugin or custom code?
Update to the Vimeo thumbnail issue.
After publishing the post, the poster has to click update a second time to get the thumbnail to appear.
Hello,
@insumedical,
I just checked your website and now seems to look fine => https://www.screencast.com/t/JBtK83Qf
@FietsersbondHZ,
Please make the update on a staging website or a subdomain and send some screenshots with your problem related by design.
Thank you!
I went through the process of updating.
I downloaded the new theme.
I updated the tagdiv composer plugin.
Now my site has this error.
Warning: require_once(legacy/Newspaper/functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/devrepam/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/td-composer.php on line 191
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘legacy/Newspaper/functions.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php74/root/usr/share/pear’) in /home/devrepam/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/td-composer.php on line 191
Thank you too! Getting a tech person to fix this has cost us over $600, and it’s things in the theme development that are causing this.
Since Google is now demanding these changes, it only behooves the developer to update as more people will continue using and buying it.
No, the live system has this issue with the previous version of tagDiv Composer. I updated it on our staging and the same issue appears again. So it’s a general issue with Newspaper. It bloats our database and especially the postmeta-field is loading really slowly.
Thank you, Bettina. I saw this same answer for another user, and tried it with not much luck; only going back to 10.4 was a temporary solution. I understand others experienced similar problems with updating and also read that the problem with the new version was solved. I will try again to update and hope it is safe. Best, G.
Hello, @dano1066,
The single-post.php file you use does not show the sidebar because it is the default WordPress file and it has no sidebar.
In order to have a sidebar, please use the files from the standard pack =>wp-content/plugins/td-standard-pack/Newspaper/parts/single (copy both files loop-single and single_template), don’t forget to put them in the child theme so as not to lose them when you update the theme.
Thank you!
Hello,
Every time when you want to update the theme, my suggestion is to do it on a staging website or a subdomain in case there are problems then not to affect your live website.
Also, if you use blocks from tagDiv Standard Pack, please update and activate it and then you should no longer have shortcodes on the page.
Now, I checked your website and looks fine => https://www.screencast.com/t/GacCBXlaV0fP -> https://www.screencast.com/t/6vzul6wfZpf1
Thank you!
Hi baldguystudio,
You didn’t updated the them for a few years, therefore the theme change a lot since v8.6.
Also, the Multi-Purpose plugin is no longer needed. As a suggestion, please disable and delete all tagDiv plugins that you have from this version and old theme version, after that install all tagDiv plugins, including tagDiv Standard pack, that it is use for old versions like yours.
Also make sure that you have the theme requirements set like in our guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thank you!
Hi, please make sure that you enable the theme plugins -> https://i.imgur.com/3jQUr45.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thank you!
Greetings,
I didn’t see anything about steps along an upgrade path, and my client’s site was showing errors when I was on 8.6. We resolved those errors by rolling back to an earlier version of PHP, so I went ahead with the upgrade to 11 and updated the theme plugins, and now have new issues such as “[td_block_big_grid_1 td_grid_style=”td-grid-style-1″ sort=”” category_id=”2″]” that you’ll see at:
https://freepressdailynews.com/
It looks like a theme component isn’t loading, but I’m not sure. I have tagDiv Cloud Library, Composer, and Social Counter plugins activated, but trying to activate Multi-Purpose throws a fatal error (Fatal error: Cannot declare class td_api_multi_purpose, because the name is already in use in … /wp-content/plugins/td-multi-purpose/td-multi-purpose.php on line 44).
WP is 5.7.2, and I’m running PHP 7.3.28. Disabling third-party plugins doesn’t help. Everything is up to date.
Can anyone see what may be causing this issue? Should I have installed an in-between version instead of going 8.6 > 11?
Thank you!
Dears,
I cannot use Big Grid Flex anymore, or I get this issue
I found that I have and incompatibility with this plugin: “XYZ SMAP” that is used to publish the posts in Facebook and Twitter… Sounds strange.
Can you help me to fix this issue?
Thanks
Hi,
If you have newspaper 11, to fix this problem, please disable and delete tagDiv composer plugin, after that go in Newspaper > plugins and install it again from there, after that the problem should be solved.
If you have a previous version, then there will no longer be this problem when you will update the theme.
Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience!
Hi,
Thank you for letting us know!
This problem was already solved! Therefore the users that still has Newspaper v11 need to disable, delete and reinstall tagDiv Composer from Newspaper > plugins.
For users that has a previous version, this problem will no longer occur when they will update the theme.
I have a demo (test) site and an official site (www.multiwomanandco.com). After updating (yesterday) to version 11.0 and intense testing of the new update in the demo environment I found no problems. So I installed the new version also on the official site, also no problems… at first!!! Today both environments showed only theme images (as reported in other topics). So I downgraded the official site to version 10.4 and it worked again. In the Demo environment I deleted the TAGDIV Composer Plugin and reinstalled it as suggested as a solution in other topics. It solved (for now?) the problem. Because there are more serious problems reported with the new version I won’t install version 11.0 on my official site and will wait for a new release. I don’t trust version 11.0 for now. Can you tell me if there will soon be indeed a new version where (all) the problems will be solved?
By the way, I will monitor my Demo environment and will let you know when the problem with the theme images reoccur.
Kind Regards

Hello Parker!
Please recheck your settings: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-disable-automatic-updates-in-wordpress/
Thank you!
After updated from 10.4 to 11, straight from theme update within WordPress (newest ver.), I can’t acces my website from any desktop browser (from mobile everything works just fine). When acces from desktop browsers it shows an little picture with theme and when clicked goes to Newspaper theme page from themeforest. Please help?
Thank you
Hello,
Those blocks are from the tagDiv Standard Pack plugin, so, if you want to continue using them, you need to have the tagDiv Standard Pack plugin updated and activate, from version 10.4, this plugin is no longer required because the new demos are using cloud templates.
Thank you!
Please delete this. Issue fixed.
Hello!
That is being addressed by our developers as we speak and it is expected to be improved in the following updates.
Thank you!
I have exactly the same issue with the header of my website, I never had any issue with theme updates but this is the first time the update is causing “design” problems, also had an about page with photos and they don’t show anymore, had to revert back to 10.4 to make it work again.
