Hello,
And what are the settings that did not apply to the post?
I see you have no featured image set.
If you are trying to use visual composer on posts, please note that it will not work properly. Please read this guide on how to use vc with our themes: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Thank you!
Good morning,
I’ve been trying to use tagDiv composer for a while, but somehow it’s still not possible. Here’s the problem I’m having:
When I click on “tagDiv Composer” blue button inside a page (while editing/creating it), this is what becomes visible: https://imgur.com/1HvRpYE
And then, when I try to add a new element, this — and only this — is what happens: it duplicates the selected icon. That’s it. No element added, nothing. https://imgur.com/7NwqRz9
Can you please help me out?
My website is http://www.raquetc.com and all of my pages were built with Visual Composer before the new update with tagDiv composer, but for what I’ve been reading there should be no problem with that…
Thanks,
Gaspar
Hello,
Please use this code instead:
@media(min-width:1018px){
.td_video_playlist_column_3 .td_wrapper_player{
margin-left: 341px;
}
.td_video_playlist_column_3 .td_container_video_playlist{
left: 0;
}
}
Unfortunately it will not work in tabs. Visual composer has issues using complex elements in tabs.
Thanks.
I have two separate WP websites using the Newspaper theme.
On one, I can add images to the post (NOT talking about the featured image) then once I see the image(s) in the visual editor section – I can mouse click an image and a small menu box appears which allows me to alter the layout, edit the image or delete the image (by clicking an x).
On the other website, clicking the image does nothing.
???
Cheers
Rick
I would like to remove the sidebar from mobile view of news articles (posts) and categories. I have been able to do this using visual composer in the home page and other pages. Just not in the theme default posts and categories. Can you point me in the right direction.
I have chosen not to use the Mobile Theme plugin as I prefer the fully featured theme on mobile devices.
thanks.
Hello,
This could be the use of both tagdiv composer and visual composer or it could be your customization. There were no full width headers in newspaper 7.4 so I asssume you have custom code implemented. Please try to create a testing platform (a sub-domain) and make a fresh install of wordpress and the theme.
Also please bare in mind that newspaper 8 comes with it;s own page builder so you cannot use both. Choose one or the other but not both at once as both page builders together create layout issues. Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/
Thank you!
Hi,
The theme provides the tagDiv composer and Visual composer. The tagDiv composer (front end drag and drop builder) can only be used on pages
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
In future updates there will be a considerable amount of options and settings added, only for the tagDiv composer, take that into consideration before choosing a page builder. Only one page builder should be used for the website.
Visual composer is recommended to be used only on pages, although it can be used on posts too
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Category pages can be customized through the theme panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-category-settings-work/
Thanks
Hi,
I have tried the Visual composer gallery, there is no image blurring applied on the images I selected from what I can see. I chose images of different sizes, small ones to big ones, with the same settings as you mention
– https://www.screencast.com/t/W9zTyiZna2
The results are here
– https://www.screencast.com/t/juVWDRno
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Dl8RXoqQFid
– https://www.screencast.com/t/QeqwhZqR
The image processing is done entirely through Visual composer, there are no settings to choose in the image gallery in terms of quality.
If a smaller image is used in it, it will not stretch it to become blurry, it will be displayed as it is. If there are bigger images there should be no problem.
If you could provide a link to this gallery on your website, we will inspect it.
Thanks
I realized I could use the Image Gallery in Visual Composer and select Image Grid, Thumbnail, Open prettyPhoto to make the photo gallery that I want. However, when I click the photos to open to bigger versions using Open prettyPhoto, the pictures are blurry. How can I set it up so that Open prettyPhoto will open clear versions of the thumbnail pictures?
Thanks!
Hello,
It seems you missed this very important part of the documentation regarding visual composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Please do not use it on posts and please do not use other column layouts besides the ones mentioned in the guide.
Thank you!
Hi there, i want to ask if can delete the tagDiv plugin and just use visual composer one?
Cheers
Hi,
You could update it if you wish, or simply leave it as it is. There should be no problem caused by the child theme itself, the code you have inside it may not work properly and may require to be adapted. Elements form the theme may have been subject to change.
Make the theme update, and see if everything works properly. Please note that the tagDiv composer will be activated by default after you update the theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
This editor could cause issues with specific Visual composer elements. Deactivate it if that is the case.
As always please make a backup before updating
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thanks
Hi,
Please deactivate the tagDiv composer and check if the website displays as before. This composer could affect specific Visual composer elements, and cause the issues you are describing.
If you deactivate it everything should appear as before.
Thanks
Hi Catalin,
Thank you for your prompt and very explanatory reply.
Indeed you had absolutely right! Exactly as you told me, the theme I want is already installed! However allow me a few more queries.
The installed theme doesn’t looks like the same as the demo I saw.
Maybe in order to work I need a visual composer because at the moment is broken while loading with some JS errors. Probably this could be happen because I didn’t activate the theme?
Τhe situation is a little bit more complicated because I hired a developer to make some modifications to my site. The developer works online in his own enviromment.
So the following issues arise:
1. Is is possible, in order the theme, to looks like the same as the demo, first need to activate the theme?
2. how much domains can I use with it? Only one domain is valid for one key? Would be a problem if the developer install the key in his enviromment and when he finish, uninstall it and transfer it to my server?
3. Did you offer such services of installation of the theme? Could you give me a quote please?
Thanks and Kind regards,
Athanasios
Hello,
Please make sure you have the latest version of the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
And then use this guide to update visual composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thank you!
Hi,
The tagDiv composer is a required plugin, while Visual composer is considered optional. You should use this composer for the website, because we will add a considerable amount of options only for this page builder
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
You can preview the theme demos here, to see how each looks
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/select_demo_newspaper
Choose the one you like and simply install it
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/demos_introduction/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Thanks
I updated the theme to the most recent version. I also updated wordpress. I hadn’t done both in quite some time. Do you think if I switch to TagDiv composer, that it will work better? I still haven’t updated visual composer, because it seems to always crash my website when I delete it.
Hello lemads,
1)Errors happened during tdcIframeData.init() -> bindViewsModelsWrappers()!
Please do not use this setting in Seo by Yoast:
https://www.screencast.com/t/n8Cc35EofLh Also, if you are using the WP Super Cache plugin, please ensure that has been right setup according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
2)Also, the third important rule is to do not edit a page which was created with Visual Composer with TD Composer.
Also, I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues like this.
For more information about how you should use our page builder incorrect way on our theme, please check the following useful tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial-2/
Clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Ginebiene,
I have inspected again your website and I saw that you are using Visual Composer elements inside the post content and if you are using the mobile theme, thatțs why you bring the shortcodes on mobile devices because the mobile theme plugin does not recognize any shortcodes. The easier way, in this case, would be to disable the mobile theme because the theme will be switched to the general responsive mode and then, all of the shortcodes will be correctly displayed for any devices.
Thanks for the message!
Hello hagedorn2,
It’s not recommended to use both page builder simultaneously. For more information about transition between these two builders, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
The tagDiv composer is built to make the transition easier from Visual composer. The same row and column shortcodes are used
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ydTOTkW4
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/
However if you used these shortcodes on posts, this may not work properly when the tagDiv composer is active. Additionally the 2 column row layout was not recommended to be used with Visual composer.
You could make the theme update and see what happens. Make a backup before. If there are problems deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin (it will be activated automatically)
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thanks
Hi,
I’m currently running version 7.5, but I’m about to update to version 8.1 using FTP. I see that there is now a TagDiv composer which looks great.
I have VC running, but only for pages not posts, however on pretty much all my posts I make use of the following VC shortcode:
[vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"]
content
[/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"]
content
[/vc_column][/vc_row]
(I just manually add it to the html)
By upgrading to version 8.1 and making use of the TagDiv composer instead of VC, will all these shortcodes break?
Thanks.
Hi,
If the tagDiv composer is not working properly, the chances are that Visual composer will not work properly as well, at some point.
This can be caused by insufficient resources. Please check the theme system status and make modifications to the WordPress and server parameters mentioned in this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Ask your hosting provider to make them for you if needed. Then check if the tagDiv composer works as intended.
Please note that over future updates there will be a considerable amount of options added for the tagDiv composer only.
You can continue to use Visual composer, if you don’t want to use the tagDiv composer.
Thanks
Hi,
Please provide more details about what you are trying to do and what is the problem. The theme works properly with Visual composer. There should be no issues placing grids and block on pages, using Visual composer
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Thanks
Hi,
The menu is centered based on its container width
– https://www.screencast.com/t/nqwTl9HK
Visually it does not appear centered because of the logo. I could give you a code to position the menu items closer to the logo, something like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/JnQg3Vf5v
.td-header-style-12 .td-logo {
margin-right: -110px;
}
Test this solution and see if it provides the desired result.
Thanks
