Try to disable all of the untested plugins, leave just to active only the bundled plugins of the theme, clear all the caches and check the results. Also, make sure that you are using the latest theme version installed via FTP way. If the problem is still there, try to make a new clean install from scratch and check again the results.

1)Notice that demo uses the post style 8 which displays the featured image to be wide, fit the theme’s width, like in our demo preview. Also, please notice that the theme does not have a full-width layout. This is fix and it cannot be changed to be full width because the theme does not support this, sorry!
2)Why? Because this is the style of the theme and all of the buttons are the rectangular. So, if you want to change it, you should use a bit of CSS code for this:

First of all, make sure that you are using the latest theme version via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. Also, check your plugins list and if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of these, leave just to active only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins.

You can use the in_cateogry() or is_category() function in WordPress and hide this article box for every post from the certain category you want. You should find such a plugin with this functionality and test it with our theme and check if it will work or do not as expected with our product.
