Unfortunately, I do not exactly understand what you mean. I have tested the Weather widget and it seems to work as expected, without any problems. Also, I cannot re-create the issue reported by you. That is a predefined footer template, the blocks in the template cannot be edited. You could select style 3 for example which is similar. Add the widgets you want, configured the way you want in the footer sections.

The theme does not have options to remove the ads on specific pages. If you are using Adsense then you could create such a condition in the code (display none is not recommended for Adsense). You could create the condition in the header style used. This is an example

Limit number of queries. Simply start with simpler design. Stuff like ‘related posts’ or ‘more from author’ or random elements, or using 5 modules per page, vs choosing ONE module for sidebar on posts, as one example.
I use max of three module types on home page, and no modules in footer, and only ONE module type in sidebar on posts.
Don’t use mega menu unless you absolutely need to.
Also, consider disabling XMLRPC, disabling comments, and using a security plugin like “Limit Login Attempts” to help cut down on bad actor system overloads.

Most themes don’t have captcha. It’s an add-on depending on what type of comments being used. For example how would the theme add a captcha code to Facebook comments system, or DisQus ? So, for example most people use AKISMET as starting point, included with theme; then tune the default WP settings under ‘discussion’ — such as blocking certain terms; you can also use third party captcha plugins, for simple captcha, or hook in Google’s system (‘I am not a robot’), etc. — and of course many sites choose not to have comments anymore at all due to 90% being spam and not adding anything to posts except troll comments — ahem, much like yours 😉

I am trying to use the accordion element from visual composer in a page, and it works. But, in the moment that I open the same page with tagdiv composer, the accordion is distroyed and only appears the full text that was inside the accordion. I mean, it is impossible to combine the accordion from visual composer and then use tagdiv composer in order to add an element or do whatever and I need to use it.
So the problem is that in tagdiv I don´t have the accordion element and I can not use it from visual composer and then go back tagdiv because the accordion will be break.
So, do you know some plugin, some html code that I can put in a column text in tagdiv composer o some solution for that? I only want a sample accordion like in the following screenshot.

That is the functionality, when clicked the module thumbnails will direct to the post page.
If you want to play a video directly in the page, you could paste the video link in a text element. Like in this example

In the previous update an option has been added to rows, columns and elements. These can now be hidden/visible by device. In this example there are 2 blocks in a row

The sticky sidebar will work only on a 2/3 + 1/3 row layout, in other layouts it will not work. Create the design based on this if you want to have a sticky sidebar on pages.

Whenever i update any post, google and bing is not showing the date in search results. If i do not update a newly published post, google shows the date. Examples are here :-

I have inspected the website, it seems there are no sidebars on the post page. Note that the theme has a primary category functionality

If a sidebar is not set manually for the post, the theme will try to display the sidebar set for it’s primary category (by default this is the first one alphabetically, from the post categories).
For example this post that does not have a sidebar

That happens most likely because it’s category does not have a sidebar set

Either set a sidebar in the post page, or for the category (Per category settings). That should solve the problem.

When sharing a link from my website, it displays the website name after the post title. Example below

I’ve seen other websites/Facebook pages that don’t have the website name displayed in such links.
It’s also not specific to posting links in Facebook as it also happens if the link is pasted into an email.

Greetings, this is my first post, first time purchase of this awesomness that is Newspaper and I want to congratulate the authors!
But to my issue: Sorry because I’ve tried to surf the existing posts on this topics but I am not finding my answers… Also this is the first time I have to deal with “authors” and I’m totally lost….
I am doing a revamp of some friends site and I’ve proposed Newspaper as the theme to go. Probem is that I am trying to get the authors of articles display, but only get the gravatar default avatar, “author name” instead of the author’s real name, and link to nowhere (same page as article) when clicking any of those.
Could anyone please assist me into solving this?

I have a unique struggle guys, I bought your theme and it is rally a good looking theme, yet to use and comment on performance.
Now, I have a website built mainly on “Pages” because my site demanded timeless content and I am now trying to use TAGDIV-blocks in various places like sidebar, etc. (localhost)
I don’t see there is a way to display random pages, with their featured image or in case of no featured image (a global image), I only see posts, posts & posts.
What would you suggest,
1. Change pages to posts (which I actually don’t want to)
2. Use a 3rd party plugin (Again, want to avoid)
3. Any other way to improvise & get random pages with global image *if no featured image?
Please point me to the right direction, I have a live website on AVADA (which I want to move to NP 8.5) with about 1,00,000 users per month and the move should obviously be “Worth It”.

Additional info: I just found out that the order criteria only applies to the first sub-category. The category below the sub-category is sorted alphabetically – which does not make sense given the idea is to keep the category hierarchy.
Is the Newspaper 8.5 able to keep the full category hierarchy?
Sample:
Europe (main category) – Germany (sub-category of Europe) – Aachen (sub-category of Germany) –> this would be correct
Aachen – Europe – Germany –> this is what currently happens as only the first sub-category is sorted below the main category “Europe” and the sub-category below “Germany” (“Aachen”) is sorted alphabetically instead of below “Germany”
Hi, I am trying to find a way how to limit the category tags shown on a post to certain categories only. If I would have 5 categories for example which belong to a post, but lets say I only want to show 3 of those as tags on the post, how can I do that? Many thanks for your help.
Thanks, Catalin. I was seeing the weird placement in Chrome & FF on Mac, but not on my iPhone. Adding the td-visible-desktop class makes the ad disappear. It had been working, so I’m not sure what changed.
