I activate new theme (twenty sixteen for example)
I delete newspaper theme but i have the message “Eliminazione fallita: Il tema richiesto non esiste.” (failed: theme doesn’t exist).
Why? Is a wp bug? (ver. 4.6.1)

Please keep in mind that each demo has an own style which is loaded when you install that demo. This is not a simple task to change the default style to look like as Travel Demo, for example (these customizations involve custom work). Hi Andrei, Thanks for the quick response . I hope you must have taken care of the fact you need to use “different author image” other than “default avatar” in the above shown example of yours. Because the problem is- it shows the default avatar at the place of real author image.
It’s becoming harder to solve this now but one thing is sure. I am still facing thing issue is only with style types with single_templates.php files. I am unable to understand what is wrong where.
For example, Here is how a single post calls for the small author image.
1. This is the code I took from view source when a loop_single style type was active, which displays author image correctly.

Can you spot why the same code is calling for two different images under different style type? Since you are developer , you may spot things that I am unable to find.

Not ranting – frustrated! As I stated above, we’ve done everything suggested already. In the inbishkek.com site, is the only instance where the problem is happening. In the testsite.inbishkek.com, a subdomain of inbishkek.com, where we developed it, no problems, even with lazy loading enabled. iNBishkek.com was first created in the testsite, after verification that it was working, all files were copied to the inbishkek.com domain a new database created and config files changed to point to the correct domain.
We scoured through the bowels of these forums, found only 1 post from 1 YEAR AGO, and support’s suggestion was to disable lazy load along with ALL plugins – a bunch of BS! But we did, the problem remains – occurring intermittently, for example; it worked fine over the weekend, today – Monday – the problem reappeared again.
What is weird is this; in the home page all images appear. In posts – style 8, the slider and the featured image do not. And this is my main source of frustration with this theme.
Caching is via Comet Cache WP widget (FKA Zen Cache), fully optimized, we’ve been using it for years on several premium themes – never a problem. We also cleaned the affected browsers – Chrome, Firefox, Opera & Vivaldi. Safari and IE are not affected by the problem.
Prior to uploading images, each JPG is reduced in Photoshop to 72ppi, then compressed with Caesium. When uploaded, they are optimized again with EWWW Image Optimizer. For CDN, we keep it simple, we use CloudFlare from the hosting provider and integrate it via WP. Also, to avoid any issues with integral components of the theme, we purchased licences for Visual Composer and Rev Slider.

Our client, iNBiskek Magazine, depends on it for revenue and has been operating a website for 2+ years, with over 500K visitors per month and retained iMedia to give their site a complete new look and feel. Newspaper7 was chosen for its appealing look and future possibilities. However, one little problem after another, poor support, and here we are; 1 month behind schedule, over budget and a fully functioning site is nowhere in sight, so forgive me if a rant a little…or a lot.

Today I visited my site to find an Ad pop-up was happening on just about every link I clicked, the following code was causing the problem:

This was found in the header of the site.
On further investigation as to where this code was injected, I found it in the Newspaper Theme settings for the headers ad:

I’m not sure how the code was added, I don’t see any other activity or modifications other than that, I’ve since changed all my passwords.
I checked for recently modified files on the server and noticed a plugin “WordPress Maintenance Mode” seemed to have been modified. I have since disabled and deleted it, perhaps this was the way in, but I find it strange that the code was inserted in theme settings and not into an actual WordPress page like index.php

Are you referring at titles for those blocks? If so the you can change theme from theme panel > translations: http://screencast.com/t/LEeK1ZDmmh Just search for each title and add a new name for it.

Hi Bogdan, In my thread ( https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tagdiv-speed-booster-plugin-setup-issues/) you have explained many great things about speedbooster plugin and also explained a workaround way to make all plugins work with tdbooster.
Today I tried to comment out the above-written code from sppedbosster.php to whitelist all the plugins. It worked and now I can see that the “td speed booster plugin” is showing “active” under system panel.
But unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to be doing anything. I also the “view source code” on chrome and found “speedbosster is running on each page. but there is no change in pagespeed score and .js and css files are still showing same render blocking issues. The similar impact I found when I turned on rocket loader of cloudflare. It makes the site very fast but this image caption box disappears once page fully loads. I thought that tdbooster should have compatibility issues only with plugins , not with CUSTOM CSS codes. but it seems to be conflicting with it too.
How can I make this css code unimpactable for rocket loader or td speedbooster plugin. Should I try writing this code directly to style.css ?
Please help me to make these awesome performance plugins compatible .

If you want to change the position of Author Box, please notice that you will have to make some modification in the core file corresponding to what post template you are using on your website. I’ve checked your site and there is no issue with category pages. Category page will display posts from that category but also from all its subcategories. For example Sport Updates category will display post from all subcategories, Podcasts, Red and Blue. This is a default functionality from wp and can’t be changed easily. If you really need this and you’re not aware of the steps that must be taken in this regard my advice is to look for someone who can help you with implementation or hire a freelancer to do it for you.

If you want to add a category image for each category which has template style 8, please notice that you should use a bit of CSS code in order to achieve this. So, first of all, you will have to take the category ID for what category you want to add the image and that, with the background-image rule of CSS you can add your desired image. Below, I gave you an example for one category, like this ->

Buy a WordPress theme called newsmag, and install it on my localhost (xampp), the Revolution Slider plugin appears installed but when I go to activate then a message appears on the front end: “Revolution Slider Error: Slider alias With animals_slider not found. ”

Super fast on our system running 20 sites with millions of unique visitors per month; dedicated server.
Lots of possible reason it impacts YOUR setup(s):
With fully updated WP (4.6x branch), disable “bad” plugins that modify admin screens not updated for latest versions of WP.
So, a bad admin mod plugin might do dumb stuff like load custom fonts (new WP uses native fonts), load jquery more than once; using external tools like Jetpack, stats plugins, etc can slooooow site down — not related to theme.
External plugins which do content checks, bad Yoast SEO settings, plugins that try to rewrite/optimize images you upload “in post” can all slow things down (e.g., better to upload media via media manager separately, THEN place in posts).
Often checking your admin pages with F12/console for broken things, or things loading more than once is useful.
Also make sure your cache is cleared in browser, make sure you’re not using adblock on your own admin panels, or some funky extension in your browser, etc.
Make sure you’re not having portions of your admin loaded via CDN, separate from local stuff due to timestamp mis-matches; make sure not blocking portions of your admin via robots.txt or htaccess, or using a minification or optimization plugin on your admin pages — all that stuff BREAKS things.
But to be clear, I can say we have super busy 15 year old news portals, udpated daily, using this theme highly optimized, and having zero issues with admin panels. Just as point of reference.

What I do is, that I use a service Embed.ly, I use an URL from a fine article anywhere on the net, that I want to bring on my site. And a embed Quote code is created. I use this code to put into a post and bang: there is a post inkl. Excerpts incl. Image. It shows in post, or anywhere I want it on a page using VC to ad a spot for it.
The only thing I cannot do is show this image as a featured image, when I use Grids & blocks, it shows the title, excerp and text, but nut the image.
I tryed the plugin you mentioned, I ÂŽcant understand, how this could help me..Am I missing something..:-)

I had a language switcher on my mobile theme on a previous version of Newspaper, but after I updated it to 7, it displays on the Desktop version menu, but not on the mobile version, if the mobile plugin is enabled. How can I get it to work with the mobile plugin? Thank you!

Oddly, in the test site (www.testsite.inbishkek.com) using the magazine demo, everything works perfectly, after it was hand-copied to its home (www.inbishkek.com) and switched demos to the default demo (client wanted the text boxed) we’ve had nothing but problems with images being displayed on pages and posts. All settings are the same including plugins. Both the test site and home site work without problems on smartphones; Windows, Android (Google) and iOS (iPhone), as well as Windows 8.1 tablets, iPads and Android tablets. So the problem are not PLUGINS. It’s the code stupid!
Documentation about this problem cannot be found in the KNOWN BUGS or theme issues anywhere, just in a post in your forum – and I found this thread by chance! Instead of the bonehead advice from support to disable all plugins, I instead disabled lazy loading, and now the home page of the site seems to be working again on all PC based browsers, but only the FRONT PAGE has been working for the past hour. The problem is intermittent, it comes and goes randomly, so I’m not sure how long this will remain true.
The POSTS, however, still have issues. Only only some images showing up. So what could be the problem? Both sites are in the same domain, but test site is a subdomain – so that’s not the problem. 2 sites, same configuration except for the test site has lazy loading enabled – everything works perfectly. The home site, which was copied later after verification that it worked, and has had lazy loading from the beginning. We’ve disabled lazy loading on the home site and only the home page has no issues. In Safari and IE everything works on both site versions. WTF?
If the shit does not work for ALL browsers, at least get rid of the defective feature! Don’t make us waste our time researching for solutions, writing these stupid posts and waiting a couple of days for replies. We have better things to do!
It is troubling that developers continually tout a feature to speed up site loading, yet fail to FIX the problem after 1 year! NO it’s not a plugin conflict, it’s a issue with your CODE!
I think everyone is getting tired of these bullshit cookie cutter answers by lazy coders & developers; “This problem might be a plugin conflict. Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer and then activate lazyload and see if the problem is still there.”
This crap advice/response not only pisses your customers off, but it negatively impacts site development deadlines we have committed to our clients! Will I recommend this theme for a client? Definitely not. If they want it, I’ll do my best to dissuade and steer them in another direction.

I’m trying to create some url filters based on custom taxonomies. Here’s the structure:
site.com/?tv=s01e01&cat=5
Where “tv” is a custom taxonomy created with CPT UI. It’s a simple query, basically to return all posts where tv slug is s01e01 and category ID is 5.
It works perfectly with other WordPress themes (even with a deeper search, using tags). However, it didn’t worked with Newspaper theme. I have no idea what went wrong.

I updated to the latest Newspaper version, and all of my translations stopped working. They still appear in the Translation panel, but the translations are not transferred to the New Post page as they used to be. For example, I renamed Via to “Forum Comments,” but “Forum Comments doesn’t show up.
Again f0r last 5 hours, I am trying different code combinations to call for the get_avatar like :
