Thanks for the quick reply. As the site is in development now I cannot provide you a live example.
I have checked on my end and indeed if I use dropcaps on posts it works fine. So the problem is isolated to pages and must have something to do with the CSS settings not being used for pages.
Can you please provide me advice on what to change to have the CSS settings for all those related things (blockquotes, dropcaps etc.) also be applied on pages?
I do not see any reason why it should not be used on pages, I see lots of possibilities to incorporate them in pages as well. Is that an easy fix?

The theme can’t display different ads from the same ad spot. For example you can’t display different article top ads, depending by post’s category, using the article top ad from theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/f1wWSlHX To achieve that are required new ads spots and set of conditions in: td_module_single_base.php which select the ad spot depending by post’s category: http://screencast.com/t/ZTurg2RpfWG7
Please consider that this is a complex task which require many customizations in theme files and also involve good coding skills. If you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ to do this for you as we can’t offer customization services at the moment.

The shortcode i used was from a visual composer single image element. You can see visual composer shortcodes in text mode when editing a page. You can add a single image element in visual composer when editing a page and style it as you want: http://screencast.com/t/VBHhKVZuk2Oy -http://screencast.com/t/yv4uWDhsMH
Then after you are done with the image settings, you can enter text edit mode and copy the code created for the image to the files as i have shown you above using do_shortcode. You basically copy and paste a visual composer element which is responsive by default.
But the code will not set the feature image anywhere. It just places an image on the category page.
If you want to set the featured images on all 8000 post, besides the manual version, one thing you might try, if you already have an image “in the post” of some type, use the “auto post thumbnail pro” plugin which will automatically take first image from post (or from external site, if necessary) and then generate thumb and assign as “featured” image in every post.
Unfortunately there is no other option for this. You can maybe find a free plugin to do this as well.

For the categories, you will need to modify the top post files in order to achieve your goal and you can add a condition to filter your categories and images: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/is_category

If you want to update at the latest version please make sure you do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ update also the plugins that come with the theme files. The update process for each of the plugins included in theme path it’s the same: delete the old version of the plugin then install the new version from same path with the theme. For example if you update at the V 2.3.1, which is the current version available on themeforest, the plugins must be installed from Newsmag-tf\plugins folder which you downloaded from themeforest.
If you’re using child theme deactivate it during the update process, switch to default wp theme and make sure that you also update it from Newsmag-tf\code\Newsmag-child.zip
If you use child theme for files customizations it’s a good practice to check update_log.txt file for each update and see what files had been modified so if those specific files are used in the child theme you will have to check your customizations to not break the functionality of the theme.

I’m using the ‘Homepage latest articles’ template and having difficulties changing this.
1) I would like to change the background of the header – it remains #000000
2) I would like to place a footer ad but the latest articles does not allow any other widgets/boxes in the Vis composer. How do I get around this? Is it easier for me to replicate the latest articles myself rather than using the template?

I want to have certain categories on the front pages of my site ie= FOOD&DRINK ,ON THE FRONT PAGE of that particular category, I want to have a section called hot food picks.I want the category, BUT I don’t want the category to show up on any menu.I just want what I want in that particular section only.
Hi there I would like to use category colors to improve navigation and structure.
I have set category colors for pretty much all main categories and their color appears correctly when I use style 3 for the categories.
However on blocks they are not used currently. For example for widgets I used block 7 and 18. Also on the category page itself the top grid does NOT color the mouse over correctly. Instead it shows the template highlight. Somehow on the frontpage blocks the colors are interactive. For example the block with How To has red effects on mouse over and hyperlinks.

I have set up category pages, with ARTICLE DISPLAY VIEW set to M1 and PAGINATION STYLE to Infinite Loading + Load more. Similar settings work well on single posts – in the related posts section – but on category pages, I only get 10 articles and no load more and/or pagination.

I reccommend adding another class to the block title so you can target it with css and not affect other block titles. Something like:

Then you can use the custom class to style the title for example:

I recently found that you can change the no thumb by using this example:

We uploaded a default thumb for each of the sizes in the folder as opposed to the grey one. It does not seem to have updated on the site and I am not sure why.
The old files are no longer there so if there is no thumb it should pull the new default but it’s not working.
Does anyone have any advice or run into anything similar?

So for example, if you click in a article it will be without the category slug.
I think It would be a better thing if i remove the page and leave as a category because from the category all the articles have more power to rank, as from the page. Because from the page the articles are loaded from blocks modules and I think them hasn’t power as a category might have. Just my opinion.

Thank you for your response. I don’t think you’re understanding my question; I’m not trying to style all titles, I’m trying to prevent Newsmag from altering the italics I set within the title.
For example, if I have a title “Where to find Morocco’s true flavors”, the blocks and grids strip away my in-title italics. I’m trying to prevent the blocks and grids from altering my in-title italics.

Hello,
You will have to be careful when modifying the theme files as it will affect other parts of your website as well. For example, in your case with the thumbnail modification, it will enlarge the thumbnail on every module that uses the thumbnail. You will be better off using another block as Alin suggested ( block 5 or 6 ).
If you really need to modify the files, you will have to regenerate your thumbnails after every modification. Only after that you will see the results. Right now the theme is using the thumbs which were created using the default parameters before your modification.

I assume you are using a plugin for the live stream. Unfortunately i cannot provide a solution to your problem as we have not tested any form of live stream with our theme. You will have to use a bit of trial and error and maybe find a plugin that works better. You can also do a quick search on the WordPress forum to see if other people had this issue.

The HTTP channel test runs only if needed, for example when gets some information about a video from youtube/vimeo or the likes number from facebook. The theme gets remote information through three channels: http://screencast.com/t/ll8pdssgmo and depending on the host uses the one that works best.
You don’t need to worry about the that, the channel status it will change when the HTTP channel test runs for the first time.
