Hi,
So I believe that you want to remove pages from search results, or return only post results. Maybe wrap that code in a condition like the example provided here
– https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-exclude-pages-from-wordpress-search-results/
Then for you as admin the code will not apply and you can have all search results.
Thanks
Hi,
When I run a audit crawl by semrush or deepcrawl, it shows that 20 or so of my post urls are missing titles.
In wordpress, I check the post and the title is there. On the website, the tile is showing. I think the theme may be ommitting the code in the header.
example URL https://www.homeremedyhacks.com/18-proven-home-remedies-to-get-rid-of-mosquitoes/
You should activate the theme with your key
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-6-how-to-activate-the-theme/
There will be a constant reminder for example if you want to write a post, if the theme is not activated. You can use the manual activation if you already have a forum account
– https://www.screencast.com/t/EL4k48Lq
That may not work with the modules, each block uses predefined modules with predefined thumbnail sizes, the design is based on that. Why not use multiple types of blocks for different results, instead of conditioning the same block modules.
I have never tried something like that, can’t say if it would work properly or not, it seems to not work. There are design problems, for example the article titles are not visible for some modules doe to the extra CSS.
Maybe review your modifications if you want to keep using them, or try other modifications. Or simply use different types of blocks, that would be much easier.
For Example, Font, Baloo

Hi,
That would be how CSS works, in cascade. For example in the header menu, the initial background color is white, also the default underline color is the blue color. The settings you made in the theme panel apply over these initial default colors
– https://www.screencast.com/t/10R6rLaE2mEE
So those will be loaded first and then the ones in the theme panel. Depending on website loading speed the effect may be noticeable or not. Try to install a caching plugin if you don’t have one, for better loading speed. We recommend the WP Super Cache.
I could also show you how to remove the initial colors if you should consider that.
Note that this is also somewhat browser dependent, note the difference between loading on Chrome and Firefox.
That block should display an excerpt, like this
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-2/
Check your settings for module 2 – https://www.screencast.com/t/VOeieHDugmfl
Check in the tagDiv composer as well – https://www.screencast.com/t/4tTsRZSXKjQ7
Check if you entered something in the manual excerpt for the posts, that will replace the default excerpts

Hello Jode,
As an example, all of the style which can be changed from TD Composer can do it from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VaD6rTajtU
Thanks.
Hi,
There are many image elements in the tagDiv composer, choose the one you want, there are also title and text elements. Be sure to check multi-purpose elements as well.
For example you could use a title over image – http://prntscr.com/k5118v Set an image and a title of your choosing, and style theme with the available options.
Or if you want the page to display a post, use the homepage post element
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/homepage-one-top-post/
You can choose from which category the post will be shown, also the sorting.
Thanks
Hi,
1. There must a module selected, for you it is module 15 from what I can see
– https://www.screencast.com/t/EifsPOsIve
If you want to keep using a blog homepage and change the module, you can do it there. Change the module and the blog homepage should reflect the changes. Maybe clear your cache if there are no changes, to refresh the page.
2. If you want the same in your category page, select the same module. Each category template can has a module section option as in the screenshots I provided above. Select module 15 for the same result. Also if you don’t want a category page top grid, disable it like in this example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/xWwvLvmwEQ8D
3. You can keep using a blog homepage, there will be no problem.
4. Module 15 shows the whole content of a post. This is different from module 18 you use for that category page
Module 15 – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/module-15-layout/
Module 18 – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/module-18-layout/
So if you want the same result for the category page, modify it accordingly.
Module 15 does not require a featured image, it shows the whole content of a post, module 18 needs a featured image to create a thumbnail
– https://www.screencast.com/t/FtQpH8on
The images are shown in your homepage are not thumbnails, they are images in the post content. Almost all other modules require a featured image to be set for the post.
5. Please change the category page module to module 15 for the same results. Module 15 will show the whole post content as I mentioned above. There are different settings for the blog page and category pages, not a global module selection. Sorry if this is an inconvenience.
6. I don’t know what you are referring to, provide more details about it. What cloning is that exactly?
Thanks

Hello,
I have the latest version of the theme with latest wordpress, no extra plugins, no issue other than : search is broken when trying to search for a file in the wordpress media library.
For example, I have an image file in my library, named “twitter.jpg”.
When Newspaper is active, if I search for “twitter” in the media library, NO RESULT.
When I switch to Twenty Seventeen theme, if I search for “twitter”, image is showing in the results !
Can you please tell me if there is a fix for this bug ?
Thank you
I want to put in my newspaper the categories within the image so I can know what section they are.
Like this page for example: https://www.lacancha.es/
Hi There,

Thanks for your answer, Simion:
1) In Theme panel->Template settings->Blog and post template, there is NO template selected (it’s a pitty that this editor doesn’t allow to attach images directly), but there is no module “boxed” (as in your image it’s the M18). In adddition, NO module type (Mx) seems to correspond with the way the default Newspaper blog page displays the articles. SO, I couldn’t select “the same” module/template as the blog page anyway.
2) I don’t want to change the way the blog page shows the posts by selecting a different Mx module AND by selecting later the same module in the categories, EVEN IF the categories showed the same as the blog page then, BECAUSE I REPEAT MY ORIGINAL NEED: that my categories show THE SAME WAY THE PAGE BLOG SHOWS NOW, which seems to correspond to no module the users can reach, as far I can see… If, on the other hand, I am wrong, please tell me which is the module that corresponds to the blog page as shown NOW (“out of the box” Newspaper). By the way, it’s not the M18 module boxed in your image (although I assume that you used that one just as an example, becasue it’s nothing like the way the blog page looks “out of the box” AND because the categories do not look like the blog page when I change them to the M18 module…).
3) Thanks for your additional suggestion, but I currently don’t want/need a static homepage.
4) With respect to the placeholder images shown now in the category pages, I repeat what I said preemptively in my previous comment: if the solution is establishing a feature image for every post and, on top of that, establishing the proper size of its miniatures relative to the module chosen, I don’t want / I can’t do that now. I just want/need that the category pages show/behave IDENTICAL to the blog page, where images are shown perfectly! By the way, that should be the DEFAULT category look/behaviour in ANY theme: if nothing is touched, they should look/behave as the main page/loop but with fewer (only its) posts!
5) Saying it, again, in other words: my category pages should look as mere FILTERS of the blog page, showing just the proper/latest/all/whatever CATEGORY articles, but in exactly the same way/look/style/design as the out-of-the-box Newspaper blog page looks now, in which case there would be no need to establish feature images (which it’s my main goal), because I DID NOT established any of them in the posts that are currently displayed pefectly in the blog page which it’s using their main images just fine, as it was in my old theme!
6) Of course there is A way of doing this in ANY theme, but I just didn’t buy a theme to begin to work in something like this right from the beginning touching/cloning PHPs, etc. What is the BEST way of doing this in Newspaper?
Thanks again, Simion.
Hello,
I’ve finished an important project for a client using your excellent theme.
Client is very happy with the final result (can be viewed here http://www.bicidastrada.it) but reported an issue with rating system that I would like to fix for him.
He says that the total figure given by single ratings is not correct mathematically. I’ve checked and it’s true in fact. You can check an example here:
If I add 9,2+9+9,5+10 total would be 37,7 divided by 4 is 9,425 and not 9.3 as shown.
Could you please tell me how to fix this?
Also, he would like to know if it’s possible to add sytles and add line breaks as well to the final verdict. How could this be achieved?
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Best regards,
Claudio
Hi,
Where exactly do you want to display that block? I also tried that with a custom ad for example, in a page
– https://www.screencast.com/t/KYKjPiLAbxqp
– https://www.screencast.com/t/JU97u0EUYjvV
– https://www.screencast.com/t/87iN6wbra
Thanks
Hi,
That message if displayed if you for example updated the theme but not the plugins. The tagDiv composer and social counter plugin should update automatically, but it seems sometimes this fails.
An update button should be displayed in the theme plugins panel for most theme plugins, after you update the theme
– https://www.screencast.com/t/g3IujbaBG3ea
Or you can simply delete them and reinstall them from the latest theme package you download
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Zk8WRXuPh
If you still have problems, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin access and cPanel if possible. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
Hi,
I wanna know if is possible insert the search bar in a page.
For example in the home page under the first row of posts.
Can I use a tagdiv element or do you have another solution?
Thanks.
Andrea
Great!
Thanks
Notice that I add to go on a computer to add the code.
On mobile, it was impossible to paste and when I type a text (for example to add a coment line) the system rename / auto correct all.
It didn’t happen previously.
Don’t know if it is the theme dong that.
Regards
Hi,
The theme will create thumbnails from images, so all those thumbnails would have to be compressed when displayed. The sizes that will be created can be disabled if needed, in the theme panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Each module uses a predefined thumbnail which cannot be changed unless code modifications are made.
The new flex blocks are becoming quite popular, because one can use the same block to achieve many results, while also selecting the thumb size
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/flex-block/
For example this demo homepage is built with one block, the flex block
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_crypto/
Thanks

Hey,
My website’s mobile speed is very slow with both Tagdiv AMP version and on the simple mobile theme. Also on homepage, posts, and pages the speed is very slow. Atleast I need fast speed for posts. I am using WP-Super-Cache plugin.
I also followed https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-increase-website-performance/
please help me out to solve the issue.
Hello Laura,
Unfortunately, please notice that our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to remove the grid line only on your Homepage, sorry! So, if you want to remove it, you should simply Go to the Theme panel and change the color for this line from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/4sitVNSHINAX to be white, for example, or transparent.
Thanks for your understanding!
