Hi,
Is there an estimate on when Responsive options will be added to the TD Composer? I was starting to rebuild my homepage (thankfully on a staging site) when I noticed this option doesn’t exist on the new composer, so I can’t hide/show content based on device.
Responsive options should be pretty basic these days, and the fact that they’re missing from the new composer is a big drawback, making it impossible for me to replicate my Visual Composer homepage.
Any idea on when these features will be added?
Thanks
Hi, Catalin. Unfortunately that’s NOT how it works, I deleted the entire theme as a test, then downloaded v. 8 and installed. Before I even looked at my home page, I immediately disabled the TagDiv Composer plugin, and then went to my home page, which was gone. So in spite of what you are insisting, I cannot use Visual Composer for my site and must use the new TagDiv composer, which is why I was voicing my complaints before, so I will ask this as a question: How do I continue to use Visual Composer for my site and NOT use TagDiv Composer at all?
Hi,
The currently included Visual composer version in the theme package, is version 5.1.1. Please do not update Visual composer to the latest version if you have the option (purchased plugin).
When this editor receives an update, we will test it and include it in the package. Then it will be officially supported by the theme, and it will work properly

Hi,
It is possible if you stretch the row where the block is placed
– https://www.screencast.com/t/5itGhdzbQXm
All the rows have the option to stretch them, achieving a full width layout.
More information about using the tagDiv composer here

Thanks
Hello websystemsweb,
I have tested on my side and as an author, I cannot edit the page with TD Composer as you said above, sorry! Please check the following screenshot here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/aSEhqll3uH because there you will see what you see when you have logged as an Author. Please provide more details about your problem, also, give me some screenshots so I can see the problem. I suggest you make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and use only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files, clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Please note that it is strongly not recommended to update the Visual composer plugin, before it is officially included in the theme package. The version currently included is 5.1.1
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/visual-composer-update-21/
When Visual composer receives an update, first we will test it and it will be included in the package. This will ensure full compatibility between the two.
What you could try is to deactivate an delete the updated version, and install the one from the theme’s package.
Thanks
Hi
I come from another theme and have installed Newspaper. I am very happy to have started to change to Newspaper but have a few issues that I am not sure if it is normal behaviour or not:
1. In the footer there are old widgets that I cannot address or change.
2. Visual Composer: “Disable Row” does not work, Single Image Lightbox does not work, Single Image Styles (3D shadow…) are not working.
3. Tag Div Composer: Starts but it is not possible to save a post created by tag Div composer.
4. Weather Widget: The Translation of this great plugin into German is correct (cannot be changed by theme panel), but upper and lowercase (A/a) is not correct because all words are written capitalized. I could provide you the correct version, if it would help you. Just let me know.
Many many thanks in advance!
Andy
Hi,
I believe you might have updated the Visual composer editor. There are many similar topics on the forum. The currently included in the theme package and compatible plugin version is version 5.1.1. It is strongly not recommend to update the editor before it is officially supported. When Visual composer receives an update it will first be tested with the theme and then included in the package
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/visual-composer-update-21/
What you can try is to deactivate and delete the updated Visual composer plugin, and install the one provided with the theme.
Thanks
Hi,
If you do not have the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 8), then you do not have to worry about the tagDiv composer. Something else has caused this. Try to deactivate all your other plugins except the Visual composer editor, clear any caching installed and check if the problem is fixed.
You could also deactivate and remove the Visual composer from the plugins section, and install it again from your theme package
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Please let us know how it goes.
Thanks
What version of visual composer should I be on ?
Hi,
That is the option to limit the posts number displayed in a block, in Visual composer
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ytAMNjvrLeSd
Here you can see how all the block look in different layout situations
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
The recommended layout to be used when creating a page regardless of page editor used, is a maximum of three columns
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
This will ensure that the blocks and other elements will display with the best results. Using a different row setting, like a four column could cause problems. I am sure you can find a row/column and block combination that you can use, while taking these recommendations in count.
Thanks
The tagdiv composer will not work on posts. Mentioning somebody uses tagdiv composer on all their sites, does not mean it’s being used on posts. The tagdiv composer only works on pages. Visual composer as well, was never meant to be used on posts in our theme as this guide specifies: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Thanks.
Hello dr_vibe,
Do you not have the Trending Now element in Visual Composer like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3l82YbBMkL? If not, I suggest you make a full backup to your database and then you should remove the old version and install the latest theme version which can be downloaded from Theme Forest. Ensure that update will be made via FTP way because this is the surest theme method in this regard.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi TagDiv,
I have made the switch to TD composer, and am happily recreating pages, but now have an extra menu at the top of the layout.I’ve tried tweaking theme panel, WP menu builder, et al, but it persists. Am I missiing something dead simple?

Hi, I’m not using roles or capabilities plugins.
All settings are standard. If I login as an author I see the list of published pages (owner: admin).
There native “modify” link is not present <– CORRECT
The “Edit with TD Composer” link is present and working <– I think INCORRECT
Furthermore, the autor can edit and save the page content via the front-end editor.
In my opinion this is not the espected behavior.
G.
Ps: in the TD Composer’s “Role manager” page, I tried disabling the composer for EVERY role (incuded admins) but nothing changed
I recreated the page using the TagDiv composer and it still turned out like so.
However, will it only show right if the other composer has been removed and deleted?
I haven’t been able to recreate all the pages yet – but when I do, I plan on removing the Visual Composer.
Hi after having made an update of visual composer to v5.2 I only see the shortcode of the different things I inserted be that in backend/frontend editor. What can I do? Site still working fine but no convenient working possible as it now functions?
I have Newspaper 7.8.1 installed.
Thanks for your help.
I get it, but i mean “Please activate your copy of Visual Composer.” warning is a normal?
I deleted the JS composer plugin from the web directory. then I downloaded all files and documentation for newspaper theme from envato and went through the process of installing the js composer plugin shown here https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/. when you activate the plug in don;t choose to update.
Hello, after an update i have all the block that are converted in “text block” with code like [td_block_21 custom_title=”example” category_id=”5″]
what’s happened ? I have updated the theme but the problem persist.
thanks

Sorry for my lack of experience:
Where can I check whether or not I have TD Composer enabled?
As for the update that comes in version 8 of NP, I have the NP7 version, how do I update it? Do I have to update the topic? Could you guide me step by step?
Thank you very much
Make sure you update to version of VC included with NP8, and do *not* activate TD Composer, as you can’t use both at same time (it’s one or the other).
Hi Bodgan.
I’m using the theme v8.0 and want to use “Tagdiv Composer” i download ionMAG Free theme. In the ionMAG plugin folder i find:
td-blocks-red-pack.zip
td-categories-red-pack.zip
td-composer.zip
td-grids-red-pack.zip
td-header-styles-pack.zip
td-posts-red-pack.zip
td-smart-lists-red-pack.zip
plugins/td-social-counter.zip
What plugin i need to install?
Only td-composer.zip OR also the rest?
Thank you, Catalin. Maybe I am not understanding the documentation fully, but NOWHERE does it say that I can immediately disable the TagDiv Composer and just use VC, it seems to imply that we no choice but to start with a broken home page, fix that, fix the other VC-based pages, then disable VC and start using the new composer. I wish you had made that clearer, like maybe this:
IF YOU WANT TO STILL USE VISUAL COMPOSER
Note that Newspaper 8 does NOT require the new TagDiv Composer to work. If you want to continue to use Visual Composer as before, simply disable the new TagDiv Composer as soon as you activate the new theme, and leave Visual Composer enabled. Your home page will no longer be broken, and you will not need to rebuild that or any other of your pages.
Is that a fair description of the process? Again, my apologies for misunderstanding but I could not find the above procedure documented anywhere on the site.
