I’ve checked your site and there are some js errors in browser’s console: http://screencast.com/t/4VrFQHhFvG These errors affect theme’s js and also some resources from Visual Composer plugin. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test again.

As you can see, the default category pages could not be customized by Visual Composer and a lot of users opted for this solution with 301 Redirect. Please notice that this is not the best solution and it might further affect the SEO and this it’s up to you.

I have tested on my side this type of smart list and everything seems to are counting as properly. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Try to clear all your caches and test it again.

I have checked your website and I saw that you are using the category template style 2 for your category pages, right? So, if you want to add your logo under the category title, you will have to add this in td_category_template_2.php. You can add your logo image using the do_shortcode method. First of all, you will have to create your shortcode for your logo, using the Text Block element from Visual Composer and then you will have to add this under the title in the core file.

Also, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

I want to add a new page to my WordPress site with Newspaper theme.
I’m using the Backend editor and when clicking a layout to use, the Visual Composer icon turns into a “wheel” and never stops spinning.
I cannot add any layouts or elemnts for my page.
Editing old pages with Visual Composer is also not working anymore!!

Hi. I have to put some code in either homepage ,categories and single posts that I can’t do with Visual Composer, cause it contains php code. I need a way to put php code or through a sidebar, or through a block, or a template part. I’m trying with block but documentation for me is not complete enough and I cannot understand if blocks can do it. Please give some hint so I can proceed. Thanks.

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test the search option again. Also if you use a child theme please switch to the main theme and if you have any customization done to the main theme, please try to restore the theme to it’s default code to see if the custom code does not affect the search option.

I am using the latest version of Newspaper and Visual Composer. I cleared all caches and also deactivated all plugins and turned them on one at a time. I think I found the problem – the problem happens when I turn on tagDiv Mobile Theme. If this plugin is activated I cannot add a page? However I can add a post.
What do you think is causing this?

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme -> Newspaper 7.1 and also, the latest version of the required plugins ->Social Counter 4.1 and Visual Composer 4.12. Try to clear all your plugins, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
If your problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch and install only the theme with the required plugins and check the results.

You can customize the layout from Visual Composer using custom css but you have to be careful at the code and also make sure that the page won’t be affected by your customizations. To change the layout using custom code you will need lots of customizations and tests in order to achieve the desired result.
You have to find the most optimal; solution depending by desired layout for your page. If the html structure requires new spans for content the you have to make a new page template but if the layout can be customized only with custom css then you can use it without a custom post template.
Note that we can’t offer customization services at the moment so if you’re not aware of the steps that must be taken in order to complete this task my advice is to look for someone who can help you with implementation or hire a freelancer to do it for you.

There is no activation code for slider revolution as it is a free version and only paid versions can be activated and updated automatically through the WP dashboard. The version we provide cannot be updated from WP and it cannot be registered as there is no activation code for free versions. If you want to add a table in Newspaper theme you will have to use a bit of HTML code for generating this.
As a hint, this is a table with some links which are added through HTML. Also, if you want to achieve the table using HTML code, you will have to consult this -> http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_tables.asp and then you will have to add this snippet of the code in the core file according to header style used by you or if you want to add the table on your page, homepage, for example, you can use the Text block element from Visual Composer and paste there the code, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/Vhw9OgaQbdn1 and the result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/LRG58Wux

That is a new element that was no present in the videos. It is the second editor for the mobile theme. If you use the mobile theme plugin: http://screencast.com/t/tJTYnwGe there will be a second editor (the first one) called a mobile editor. This is destined for creating mobile versions of your pages without the use of visual composer as the mobile theme does not use visual composer.
