Homepages are made with visual composer so yes. You can use the theme’s ad widget or use own code.
Hi,
is it possible to add other modules widget on the homepage with Visual composer ?
Thanks
To clarify, two things at work with increasing memory limit on a hosting account
a) memory limit allocated to PHP on the server, set at server level such as php.ini — any hosting company that allows WordPress should allow up to 64MB for php — with a VPN or dedicated server you may need to make that setting yourself by changing the defaults to higher than (in some cases default as low as 16MB!)
b) WordPress limit — WP defaults to 40MB max, even if you change the default on server. So, the setting in wp-config.php will raise the default max RAM for WordPress. 40MB is too low to use Visual Composer and all the modern plugins. 64MB is better, 96MB advisable; higher depends on your hosting account/setup “allowance.” (e.g., if you have VPN or dedicated server, 256MB is advisable; very high traffic sites, perhaps more).
Not sure anybody “needed” to know that, but easy to get confused on these. 🙂
ok yes I originally when through all the steps described above.
Digging around it looks like there aren’t any sliders in the theme anymore.
this is the slider on home page now
[td_slide_big limit=”8″]
[td_block2 limit=”6″ custom_title=”DON’T MISS” ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][td_block1 limit=”5″ header_color=”#f65261″ custom_title=”TECH AND GADGETS” ajax_pagination=”next_prev”][td_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_1″][td_block2 limit=”6″ custom_title=”TRAVEL GUIDES” ajax_pagination=”next_prev” header_color=”#82b440″]
[td_block2 limit=”6″ custom_title=”FASHION AND TRENDS” ajax_pagination=”next_prev” header_color=”#ff3e9f”]
[td_block4 limit=”1″ custom_title=”EDITOR PICKS” ajax_pagination=”next_prev” header_color=”#2b2b2b”][td_ad_box spot_id=”sidebar”]
[td_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_1″]
If I could post an image you could see that these three blocks are in a table with two columns.
Also, it looks like when upgrading Visual Composer the template that I created for all the pages I was created is lost. So this pops up in a section that I created in Visual Composer in one of the columns ( [td_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_1″] ).
This was done because there wasn’t a way to create a custom column on the pages I need a custom sidebar.
This is on my personal computer so there is no way to give you a link.
Digging around on what is lost looks to me like I am hosed and will have to start over. Which totally SUCKS
Hi
We updated our demo today and the new grids can be found here:
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/big-grid-1/ – http://screencast.com/t/cL9qZcTqYYB
@doucare1971
Also they can be fond in Visual Composer here: http://screencast.com/t/adqTVDHWV and make sure you enable them from VC settings: http://screencast.com/t/zCi3pk5b5h4
Thanks!
Hi,
I understand how i can change block colors in Visual Composer but you cant change the block colors for the blog sidebar and the footer blocks by visual composer. That is my question:)
Hi,
I suspect there may be a js conflict which appears on mobile devices only. Try to disable all plugins except for Visual Composer and see if the issue is still there.
Thank you!
Hi
The color title for blocks can be changed from Visual Composer like here: http://screencast.com/t/eFObLjpBhldY
That delay appear because first time loads the main css from the theme, then the css. To avoid it you can insert your custom css in style.css file: http://screencast.com/t/kPT8IAoa
Thanks!
Hi,
1. You have to edit the page and delete the News Ticker block – http://screencast.com/t/ewQoe7ceoZM3 – http://screencast.com/t/Y79dSTDcOJ
2. Try to update the permalinks again (just save the settings) and see if the issue is still there. If this doesn’t work disable all plugins except for Visual Composer, update the permalinks and see if the issue is still there.
Thank you!
Hi
To built a homepage you need to use Visual Composer Plugin, which comes with the theme, so make sure you have it installed. With that plugin you can insert blocks, grids, widgets etc: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
http://screencast.com/t/vsKOhx1Ng9O
http://screencast.com/t/XzgQN3n05
http://screencast.com/t/1Sjkg6QOV
After you finished customizing your page go to Settings > Readings and set your front page: http://screencast.com/t/komoGTYco
We have demos included with the theme, you can install one and you can edit the hompages already created: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Hope this help.
Let me know if you still need assistance on this.
Thanks!
Hi,
We will try to improve the documentation.
Can you take a look on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgWqozuqmJk&index=2&list=PL6CsDkMaejhrfEuAth6JVYLPmFwFzNFwY
or here in this tutorial about how to use the Visual Composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Try to disable all plugins except Visual Composer and see if the issue is still there.
Also try to check all items in the plugin settings area, save the settings and check if the blocks are back – http://screencast.com/t/q6Ho8C7lcbOi
Thank you!
Hi,
You have a lot of elements in the sidebar and i suspect that this issue is caused by one of them – http://screencast.com/t/LZ0laCCaDdU
Try to create a new sidebar, add the same widgets one by one until you find the one who causes this.
Also try to disable all plugins except for Visual Composer and check again.
Thank you!
Hi,
Do you use a cache plugin? if you do clear it and check if the issue is still there. Also try to disable all plugins except for Visual Composer and check again.
If this doesn’t help please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com , paste a link to this conversation and provide wp-admin access so we can take a look.
Thank you!
It seems like with every update your theme becomes even more terrible and buggy. Last time also during update I had to clean install whole site again due to lots of fatal errors. This time again! This time the problem was due to conflicting CSS classes of Visual Composer and main theme that made theme layout distorted. So I again reinstalled complete theme package, now when installing demo content, showing up this: http://screencast.com/t/3JJsjHrAhqn
It’s been 1 hour, it was stuck there so I had to finally cancel it and showed this error: http://screencast.com/t/EVuHkyRHxfR
My permalink structure in fine and .htaccess file is also on 644 permission.
What to do now?
TERRIBLE THEME!!!
Hi,
Try to disable all plugins except for Visual Composer and see if the issue is still there. Also check the error.log file for clues on why this happens.
Thank you!
Hi there,
I have updated to Newsmag 2.0 and find that I am unable to save changes in Visual Composer on my home page. Specifically, I can’t change the number of posts that appear in the slider beyond 5, despite changing this several times. In addition, in the blocks and modules I have on the home page, the posts don’t change when you refresh the page, or return to it (i.e. the same posts appear every time the home page appears.)
I would be grateful for your help on this.
Thanks a lot,
Mark Angus
Hi,
I just updated the theme to the latest version and it looks like template is missing.
I am getting the below across my site. I disabled all plugins except the visual composer.
wp booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: td_category_template_2 is not set.
/home/wodloung/staging/1/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
wp booster error:
Missing parameter: ‘file’
/home/wodloung/staging/1/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/td_autoload_classes.php
wp booster error:
The category template td_category_template_2 doesn’t exist. Did you disable a tagDiv plugin?
/home/wodloung/staging/1/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
Can you please help, I can’t add or modify blocks on my homepage. Visual Composer doesn’t show the blocks to add.
Its an emergency ! Thanks
Category Grids is what they are:
Themepanel>>Categories:
http://s27.postimg.org/kxvg4ea43/Category_Grids.jpg
Movies Grid:
http://s29.postimg.org/60kl9dcef/Movies_Grid.jpg
News Grid:
http://s22.postimg.org/48fdzgmkh/News_Grid.jpg
That is not all of theme just showing a couple of them. I hope they add them to Visual Composer as Big Grid 1, Big Grid 2, Big Grid 3, Big Grid 4, Big Grid 5, Big Grid 6, like in Newspaper theme.
Hi
The theme should display fine google ads as it tested, but notice that we didn’t do any test with plugins that insert ads on sites, so it’s possible to appear some issues. On your site google ads are not inserted by the theme so you can try use our ads system and see how it goes, you can also check our documentation here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/ads-system-full-guide/ If the problem persist try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear the cache ant test again.
To improve the page speed you can check our guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-speed-guide/ but now we recommend WP Super Cache as cache plugin because it’s more easy to use by the user, use it with default settings.
Hope this help.
Thanks!
Hi
That seems to be a css problem and can be caused by some plugin that overwrite the theme css, so you can try deactivating all plugins except Visual composer, clear the cache and test again.
Let me know how it goes and if the problem persist please provide a link so i can inspect it closer.
Thanks!
Hi,
Google speed testing tool notifies you of the following css resources which where left on purpose at the top because moving them to the footer can cause issues with the theme: http://screencast.com/t/0P8jKYkdE6n
You can move them by adding the lines to the speed booster plugin:
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('js_composer_front');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td-theme');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('google_font_open_sans');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('google_font_roboto');
This image: http://screencast.com/t/DnvpT9bVf is one of your banners: http://www.4resumeformat.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Resume-writing.png
Regarding the remaining ones: http://screencast.com/t/wFETdrYB3 those can be done manually regarding theme’s css or you can use compression tool which remove space and comments reducing their sizes. I can’t recommend you a tool or a plugin for that because we haven’t tested any and we do not recommend compressing resources but it can be done carefully so you can search solutions online and try to do it yourself.
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Firstly please install the Visual Composer plugin that is required by the theme. Go here and install it: http://screencast.com/t/tOn1NYUQIt
About the blank posts the text is there but is white http://screencast.com/t/pCV7TFx4tDa , you need to go to Theme Panel -> Theme Colors -> Posts and leave the default color of the text not white like here: http://screencast.com/t/XHTVArHgpkPy
