I updated the visual composer plugin but didn’t fix the problem. I tried to change the setting but didn’t work either.

They usually showed the front part of the post automatically, but now I decided to add the excerpt manually for every post. It kind of bothers me, but I can limit the length of the excerpt as I like, so it is fine with me for now.

Anyway thanks for your help!

I have problems installing a visual composer right know i try many way but it not going to work. all it’s says

“The plugin does not have a valid header.”

I think you refer at Visual Composer elements like blocks, widgets and others. By default should appear but if this are missing follow this link to enable all: http://screencast.com/t/Zz1MnVkIMIFM If the problem doesn’t solve try without plugins, leave just VC active.
Please provide more details if this is not what you mean.

If you turn off related article from here http://screencast.com/t/jnzTQFg0PNB it should not be displayed. Make sure you clear all caches, and also disable the plugins except Visual Composer and test again.
Let us know if yous still can’t disable it and also provide your site’s url.

We tested the theme on IE and should work fine, so it’s possible to have a plugin that overwrite the theme css in that browser. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear the cache ant test again. If the problem persist try this custom css in theme panel > custom css:

.ie8 .td-header-main-menu, .ie9 .td-header-main-menu, .ie10 .td-header-main-menu, .ie11 .td-header-main-menu{
background-color: red;
}

This css works on IE 8, 9, 10, 11 and you can set any background color.

hello Lucian, thank you for your help and quick response, all its fixed now, you can check that on http://www.electropiknik.cz if you like 🙂 it was caused by the order of css styles affecting composer etc.. however its all fine now. thanks again jan

That didn’t actually solve the problem, as it ended up creating two columns, with the block quote text being placed to the left of the text block which had originally been below this. All I was actually trying to do was have the default text within the block quote set to left alignment, NOT centre alignment. How can this be done?

Also, I’m running into a really annoying problem with the block quote text becoming all caps, even after I set it to “none (normal text)” within the theme panel. Here are the steps I’m taking:

1) Theme panel options are set to the following:
a) Post Content
b) Default block quote
c) Transform > set to “none (normal) text)

2) Post text is written, with no special formatting:

3) Text block is added in the visual composer:

6) The text is AUTOMATICALLY SET TO UPPERCASE, even though default block quote text was set to “none (normal text)” as seen in step 1.

Can you please help me out with this? Why are my settings that are set in the theme panel being ignored?

Can you help me to set the following functions as default for block quote text?

A) Left text, NOT centre text
B) No special text transform on the block quote text.

The author box block from Visual Composer can be used on post like a widget in sidebar or footer area. Also you can use the shortcode to insert it in post content like here: http://screencast.com/t/yJZKlrt1f5
To get the shortcode create a blank page, add the author box and set it as you want, then switch in backend editor, copy this code: http://screencast.com/t/OPqNgAyGm and insert it in post.

You can hide sidebar in every page from Visual Composer, but not post like this url for example: http://www.phonelane.com/phone-tips/lenovo-k3-note-dead-wont-start-showing-black-screen-and-unable-to-boot/
So if you want to hide the sidebar and footer from post you can use this css in theme panel > custom css:

display:none!important;
}
}

The theme doesn’t have an option to create a block for each category, you will have to add it manually in Visual Composer and select the category you want to be displayed in that block from category filter: http://screencast.com/t/5rEX7OVPK
