Same issues for me and need them for page styling.
Also With the new font setup you have from the last couple of updates I cant individually style the headlines, fonts, weights and sizes. Can this be brought back in?
With the Visual Composer settings do we need a licence? It looks to be working but not sure as the settings are blank. Usually when these features are in themes this tab option is not available as its part of the theme.
Could you also list or tell us how we can activate hidden shortcodes?

I’ve tried the button, button 2, and Call To Action 2 on two different sites so far with all updates to VS, theme, and WP current and the buttons and styles don’t work. The CTA shows like a text box – an ugly one at that – and the buttons don’t show at all, just the text on them in default browser blue as a link.
The Whole composer plugin is missing the frontend editor as well.
My fail. Please delete. No issue.
This issue is resolved in the v3.7 theme update.
Stand by on this. Seems FTP client is hung… Looks like it grabbed the 3.5 -> 3.6 update instead. Rebooting and checking settings and will update if that was the issue.
try to delete the whole theme, upload it back and upload the plugin..it should work 🙂

I think some of the element names changed with the updated version of VC and haven’t been corrected yet.
Will this be fixed in the next update?
On the plus side, the new version of VC fixed the editor issue introduced when WP 3.9 was released.

WTF? Tried all again and nothing. Whole site, front and back end, show these errors. Tried uploading the wpbakery folder from 3.6 again and all is fine, but I can find no composer plugin in the files, nor does a message for the required plugin show up anywhere on the site.
Could this be an issue of using the child theme????? Site broken on 3.7, complete failure.

To update to v 3.7 please follow this steps

On your Dashboard the theme will require to install WPBakery Visual Composer plugin. Click on Begin installing plugin
Do not work a bookmark in visual composer

After overwriting the Theme directory and deleting the /wpbakery there is no hint in the backend to install the plugin.
Is there an manual way to do it?
If you are working with a child theme, deactivate it before attempting to install Visual Composer (activate Newspaper parent theme).

We haven’t changed anything about the require plugin from V2 to v3. The GIF plugin is not included in v3.
About the Visual Composer the problem is a little complicated, because we need to deliver our custom and modified Visual Composer as a plugin, we still investigate this.
I’m having major issues since the upgrade to 3.9 – no shortcodes / visual composer not working properly as previously mentioned here.
I also can’t update or publish pages – I don’t know if this is another issue with visual composer? I believe it might be related to the save function not working? http://wordpress.org/support/topic/saving-draft-not-completing-in-wordpress-39
Do we have a timeline on when the theme will be updated? Or is there way to regress my site back to 3.8 in the meantime?

this pre-supposes that the user knows how to actually find the plugin to begin with. So, might be worth noting WHERE that actually is in the zip package.
Actually, a “recommended” and “included” plugins list might be useful, especially since, for example, for those of us who upgraded from v2 to v3 — what of those original plugins are still needed? Is the animated GIF plugin still needed? It’s not included with v3, so not sure?
This might be also useful since you’re now going to break out the visual composer as plugin.
