I’ve been getting education on using the hooks to add custom text in the functions.php file vs hacking the WooCommerce theme, so this is my first (!) WooCommerce install, which is hard to believe after all these years, but there you are.

THANK YOU for the button alt code; that was tricky … didn’t get the syntax on that. I’ll update on that.

Figure the breadcrumbs were in-built as I did look at the woocommerce.php file in the theme folder, and went “ahhhhhh soooo.”

The only other minor quibble I have at moment (once I test button fix), is that in iPad portrait mode, on the cart view, the coupon button and update cart spacing got a little wonky due to the changes to WooCommerce — which I think they have now “stabilized” to the next generation (meaning 2015 code vs 2010 code on a lot of stuff!).

I will need to make screen cap of the iPad on this particular issue of the viewport spacing for iPad portrait, as that is the “tricky” one.

For changing the “icon” in the “info” boxes on payment pages, it looks like I need to edit the CSS to change the box you’re making with CSS, and insert a font awesome icon or something there.

The Theme Newspaper purchased with Version: 3.9, has now been updated to Version 4.4

The version of Visual Composer plugin WPBakery that came along was 4.2.2 and now seeing the control panel (plug-ins) still with the same summer 4.2.2. This has never been updated.

What was purchased, urged and is working is the Visual Composer Extensions extension All In One Version: 2.6.1, this is ok.

What is more I can not enter “new page” and that’s very important, I need to add new urgently, but Visual Composer is blocking it.
How to solve this? Uninstall Visual Composer also the extension All One? But to make it even need to block access to the site, as without the plugin and extension pages that use will be without the correct presentation.

If you uninstall the plugin and extension, urgent need to reinstall, but which version should I use, version 4.2.2 (which came in the theme of purchase) or a newer that also comes with the theme?

Often the problem with a robots.txt file is that it can, by default, block areas of the WP install which actually have the elements needed to render the mobile version, such as the theme folder, or similar. However, this is usually done by a developer, or an automatic file created by server side hosting WP auto-installers, etc.

The theme is responsive, which means the same theme is being loaded for desktop and mobile devices, and only the CSS changes for the “viewport” … meaning, the same style.css file is loaded by either device, but the mobile deice “reads” the part of the CSS that pertains to that size (“viewport”).

Technically, if you have an issue in your robots.txt file, you can actually open that and look at it; and remove everything except any special blocking you might have in place for an abusive content bot, or any directive to Google to NOT index something like a /members/ folder, etc.

Put another way, simply empty your robots.txt file if you feel it’s blocking something! WordPress technically doesn’t use it for anything.

Old school folks might want to put link to their xml sitemap for those spiders which don’t know how to find it (e.g., Google and Bing – you should be submitting that in your webmaster accounts); and again might want to put in some directives for certain bots to not scrape content — but bad bots ignore those anyway.

Problem with install.
Best to start with clean install of WP on new server then move dbase over along with image directory.

Or, simply do a clean install of WordPress except for the wp-config.php file, reinstall the theme.

Hi, I tried everything but it doesn’t work 🙁

I updated the theme.
I updated the plugin.
I deactivated all plugins leaving only Visual Composer.
I installed all plugins in /plugins folder.

What else can I do?? I don’t know what else to do.

strange, i have installed the speed booster which i did not use in previuos version tho. it came up with two plugins as well as with files within so i have delted the old version. it working fine, but strange thing happening .. when you click on post or seomthing then wehn refresing the page it comes up with these colours and strctures sucg as grid etx.. vizu link

You need to delete one.

Whenever you update plugins, you need to DELETE the old version from server, not over-write the old folder; and upload the NEW version.

I would probably delete both of those and install only the new version to be safe 🙂

Or, delete the 3.2 version.

I can’t afford to have the website down. I have no issues in paying the install fee to have someone go through the site as long as the site isn’t down during our main trading hours.

Yep! Alls well now..I simply deleted that older plugin..upgraded to 1.6 then installed the newer version of the social counter included in the new 1.6 folder and everything is running smoothly again with 1.6 yay! Hope that helps others who were facing the issue.

Finally it works after deleting & re-installing the plugin. Thanks so much again 🙂

Thank you for the reply!

The featured image for the posts is working perfectly, but the default featured image does not working, it does not display. For example, if I to define an image for each post, it will appear normally, but if I do not define any image, do not appear nothing, just a blank space as in the screenshot.

I disabled all plugins and emptied the cache before. And about the documentation, I read all it before to install the theme.

Not really a major issue since nobody should be going to that location anyway; the “index” in your theme folder is not part of the website.

So, likely that happened during setup/install, and won’t repeat, or somebody is probing your site for an open directory to see if the theme folder has a vulnerability.

Limit login attempts, is a great plugin to use !

Well, to have fully different theme settings, you need to have two separate installs. Possibly use sub-domains and just install it twice. Or, use two directories like

yoursite.xxx/test1/
yoursite.xxx/test2/

This is normal wordpress stuff in no way related to the theme itself.

You can’t run two themes at same time with one install unless you’re running WP multi-user (“WPMU”).

You shouldn’t use child theme for any kind of testing, really, as it’s a redirect.

But yes(!), you could install

wp-content/themes/Newsmag
wp/content/themes/Newsmag2 *
*(edit style.css with new name)
then switch between them after making modifications to each one.
