Hi mariohh,

If you migrated from a different theme to our theme, it is possible to see shortcodes from the previous theme, as those shortcodes are not recognized by our theme.
However, if you were already using our theme and everything was displaying correctly before, but now you only see shortcodes, this is usually related to the theme plugins that are no longer installed or enabled.
Please check the required plugins by going to Newspaper → Plugins and make sure they are installed and activated. In most cases, this issue is related to the following plugins:
tagDiv Composer, tagDiv Cloud Library. In some cases, it may also be related to: tagDiv Opt-In Builder, tagDiv Standard Pack
Once the required plugins are installed and activated, the content should display correctly again.

Thank you!

Hi,

1. Regarding the drop in rankings and the “Crawled – currently not indexed” message
If this is a relatively new website, fluctuations in rankings and indexing can happen, especially after major changes like switching themes. When you install a new theme, the structure, layout, HTML markup, and sometimes even the internal linking or metadata can change. Because of this, Google may need to re-crawl and re-evaluate the pages, which can temporarily affect rankings or indexing.
Also, if the previous theme included specific layouts, schema markup, or internal links that helped Google understand the site, those elements may not exist in the same form in the new theme. In that case, Google will treat the pages as updated content and reprocess them, which may take some time before rankings stabilize again.
The message “Crawled – currently not indexed” usually means Google has already crawled the page but has not yet decided to include it in the index. This is fairly common for new or recently changed pages, and indexing can take some time.
Since you mentioned that:
– your sitemap and robots.txt are correctly configured
– your hosting environment is clean
– the site was recently changed
it is most likely that Google simply needs time to re-crawl and reindex the site after the theme change.

2. Setting the Blog page with our theme
With our theme, the blog can be configured in two different ways:
Option 1 – Use the demo layout
You can use the category layout that comes with the demo. In that case, the page will display posts from a specific category using the theme’s custom design.
Option 2 – Use the default WordPress posts page
If you want a page that automatically displays your latest posts, you can set it from the WordPress settings:
Go to: Dashboard → Settings → Reading
Then, under “Your homepage displays”, select the page you want to use as the blog in the “Posts page” field. Example: https://prnt.sc/krjZvnt_oQX_

Hi,
If you have the Newspaper theme version 12.7.5 and the classic editor plugin installed, the mentioned column for the sidebar should no longer be displayed – https://prnt.sc/dPpvumtqkk0B. Just make sure that all cache is clear, no object cache is applied. Another solution will be to try with a different browser, where there is no cache on the browser for the website.

Excellent, thanks Calin. I do indeed have Yoast SEO installed, but I didn’t know it was responsible for even displaying the author’s name. Now I’m optimizing Yoast SEO so it doesn’t share what I don’t want it to.

Thanks Calin

Hi,

1. If you have the demo installed, then the same single post template should be used, “Single Post Template – Free News”. Also, make sure that you are not using the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin.

2. Use tagDiv Composer, edit the homepage, select any element and after that from the left sidebar, you select the mobile viewport, then select the menu element – https://prnt.sc/dJV0CGbkkWbU, and you can edit the page ase as you would the menu. Or if you want, you can simply remove that element and add the menu element – https://prnt.sc/mYRxWJ3nI0Xt

Hi,
Usually, when you see shortcodes on your website when you are logged in, it is because one of the theme plugins is not installed. The theme plugins can be installed from Newsmag > Plugins.
TagDIv Composer should be installed and enabled and in case you still see shortcodes in the sidebar of pages/articles, please install the plugin tagDiv Social Counter.
Thank you!

Hi,
When you see shortcodes, it is related to a plugin that is not installed; it can be related to the tagDiv Opt-in plugin. Please go to Newspaper > plugins, install and activate the plugin, clear the cache, and let me know the results.
Thank you!

Hello,

After installing and enabling FlyingPress on my website, I noticed a rendering issue.

When the page loads, slider images and featured images do not appear immediately, leaving large blank spaces in the layout. As soon as I touch, scroll, or interact with the page, the images render instantly and the layout becomes normal.

This happens both on:

mobile devices (iPhone / Safari)

desktop browsers

Hi,
Please avoid creating multiple topics about the same issue. You can continue the discussion here:

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,
After you have installed the Newspaper theme, do you still have analytics set to get information from the website? If the analytics code was set in the previous theme and not in an extra plugin that now exists on the website, then the results will be as you mentioned, because no code to retrieve information from the website is set. The code for analytics in the Newsapper theme can be set in Newsapper > theme panel > Analytics/js code – https://prnt.sc/-prI93sIOCON
Related to teh Google results, this will be delivered from what Google already indexed, so it’s not related to the theme.
Thank you!

Hi,
When this situation appears, it is because one of the theme plugins that has been used before the theme update is no longer installed and updated. The theme plugins can be checked and installed from Newsapepr > Plugins. Normally, you should have tagDiv Composer, tagDiv Cloud Library, and in your situation, I think you should also have the tagDiv Opt-in Builder plugin installed and activated.
Thank you!

Hello,

I installed WordPress through Hostinger and I am currently
using the Newspaper theme. I would like to get approved for
Google AdSense, but my current posts seem to lack value and
quality.

Current situation:
– WordPress installed via Hostinger
– Using Newspaper theme
– Rank Math SEO plugin installed
– Posts have been written but the content feels insufficient

My questions:
1. What is the minimum word count per post recommended
for Google AdSense approval?

2. What is the recommended way to create high-quality,
valuable content using the Newspaper theme?

3. Is there an official tutorial video available for
learning how to write posts using tagDiv Composer?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,
Please check to have the plugins tagDiv Composer, tagDiv Cloud Library (if cloud templates were used), and tagDiv Standard Pack plugin (if standard templates have been used). Those plugins can be installed from Newsapper > plugins.
If you’re encountering an infinite loading screen after clicking Save Settings in the theme panel, the issue is likely related to admin-ajax.php. To diagnose the problem, please open your browser’s developer console and check for any error messages.
This behavior is commonly caused by admin-ajax.php being blocked by modSecurity, your hosting provider’s firewall, or certain security plugins or server modules.
Thank you

I got the featured image working again. Apparently I for some reason had lost the installation for cloud library. However the logo issue persists even after clearly seeing that the settings are correct.

Hi,
When you see shortcodes on your website, and those contain td, this means that one of the theme plugins that should be active is not installed and activated. The theme plugins can be installed from Newspaper > Plugins, and you usually need tagDiv Composer, for cloud template tagDiv Cloud Library, and for old templates, you need tagDiv Standard Pack plugin.

Calin
tagDiv Staff

Hi,
When you update the theme, just make sure that all activated plugins are also updated and activate https://prnt.sc/Zf8Iamh0ScCo. Most of the time, when the problem you are mentioning appears, it is when one of the plugins is no longer installed after the theme update.

Calin
tagDiv Staff

Hi,
First, what you should make sure taht taht all theme plugins that you have installed and activated on Newspaper 9 will also be updated and used on Newsapper 12 and because this will be a big update for you, in Newsapper 12 under Newsapper > plugins, you’ll see an extra plugin that was not there before, this is tagDiv Standard Pack plugin, in your case, you’ll need to install and activate that plugin to bring the old templates for your website.
I hope this will help you!

td block codes appear on my site. I’ve disabled all plugins accept TagDiv plugins. I’ve changed all settings for pages and sidebars to default. I’m thinking about deleting the theme and reinstalling a fresh theme file.

Any ideas on the source or cause or recommendations?

Thank you for this response. This sent me back to my datacenter. here was the crux of their response:

——–
This mix of different encodings can happen if WordPress was installed back when a different encoding was used and if you are continually adding new code in the form of plugins or themes that are using a different encoding.

This article describes how a developer or DBA would change the encoding so that all of the tables have the same encoding: https://kau-boys.com/2976/database/fixing-the-illegal-mix-of-collations-wordpress-database-error
——–

Well, this article offers a great explanation on how to fix the problem, but also links to a WordPress plugin that I was able to install and run to fix it. That plugin is here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/database-collation-fix/

So, problem solved. Thank you for the light you helped to shed on this!

Hi,
I would like to clarify that a standard WordPress installation, even when using the theme, does not automatically block bots. WordPress securely handles login, registration settings, and user roles, but it does not include built-in bot protection such as CAPTCHA or rate limiting by default.
This means that any public form (login, registration, contact form) can be targeted by automated bots unless additional protection is enabled.
The theme does not bypass WordPress registration settings. It follows the normal WordPress rules. To reduce automated registrations or spam, the theme provides an option to enable reCAPTCHA (Use Google reCAPTCHA v3 or Use Google reCAPTCHA global domain) as an extra security layer.
If you can share clear steps showing that WordPress registration settings are being bypassed, we will be happy to review and investigate further.
