Hi,

@seanhelmes
Displaying the same content on both desktop and mobile is possible, if the mobile theme plugin is deactivated.

Posts, categories, author pages etc these will have a predefined template on mobile with the mobile theme, regardless of what is set on desktop. These predefined templates are simple, this is why the mobile theme is faster than the responsive version (non mobile theme). The homepage will show a couple of predefined elements, the rest of the pages will require content in the mobile editor or they will be empty. Currently this is how it works.

Gradually we will add more settings and options for this plugin, and improve it. In this stage we are noting every suggestion provide by users.

Looks mostly alright now, still when I browsed the website there are some problems. For example this page – http://prntscr.com/n0cikk The mobile theme should not apply on desktop, in almost all cases when this happened it was caused by caching.

One solution would be to use a different caching plugin, we recommend the WP super cache
https://tagdiv.com/wp-super-cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Note that when the mobile theme is active each page will require 2 versions, one for desktop which you can build in any way possible with the theme, the other for mobile built with the mobile editor – http://prntscr.com/n0cld8
https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
So the mobile version will be different from the desktop version.

The other solution is to not use the mobile theme plugin. Or use it only for AMP, now it is possible in theme update 9.6.1 – https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/http://prntscr.com/n0cmkf

Hello. We correctly implemented our codes on our head and body, yet mobile amp theme do not shot amp auto ads. Do we need to add our codes in theme panel as well? We only did it manually with FTP to plugins/amp/templates/html-start.php.

For testing: https://www.birgun.net/haber-detay/universitelilerin-5te-biri-calisiyor.html?amp

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

You mean this? – http://prntscr.com/n0cbja That page looks like that because it is broken. Seems the mobile theme is applying on desktop. This kind of issues are usually caused by caching plugins and affect only pages mostly.

Thanks

Hi. Bookmark (#) link does not work in mobile mode. In desktop mode it work just perfect but not in mobile menu. Normal links, and page/article-links works but not when using a bookmark-link. It does not recognize it as a hyperlink.

I’ve tested all possible solution (amp plugin, mobile theme menu, disable all plugins…) but no luck. What to do?

Hi,

From what I can see the mobile theme is not active at the moment on your website. Regarding the issue, the mobile top grid will only display featured posts. Meaning posts that are in the Featured category the theme creates when installed
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/
It will not appear if there are no featured posts – https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/

Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

From what I know there are plans to add some settings to allow better management of the mobile version. At the moment there aren’t such settings.

From where exactly would you like to exclude categories? If it’s the latest articles section you could try this solution – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/latest-article-mobil-theme/

Thanks

Hello Team, I found few buys in the latest update.
As everyone is complaining, it is having a compatibility issue with AMP support. I use the mobile theme from the beginning and it is awesome. It supports plugins but lightweight. I think the AMP compatibility issue is due to the unsupported plugins with the AMP.

In the Classic editor, I’m not able to add Links. When I click the link button, it is not showing any posts.
Found a few issues with the Tagdiv editor.

Hi, I’m not sure how to explain this (and probably why I’m having trouble finding anything on the forums). On the mobile theme, when I visit a category page it lists the category title and directly below it are a number of other categories listed. How do I modify these other categories? Two of the categories are no longer used and do not appear in the main menu (mobile) but still show up when I visit the category page on mobile. Does that make sense? I’d be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction to rectify this as I’m obviously missing something.

See: http://www.screencast.com/t/TMolQrS3

What I am referring to are the boxes (menu items) under 20 Questions. Not all of them are active but can’t figure out how to turn them off.

Thanks!

We have updated our site to the latest 9.6.1 version and turned on “Mobile+AMP” under the “Use Mobile Theme For” section. I still see no CSS in the AMP page. It is an unformatted page. What’s going on?

Installed 9.6 the other day and set up theme colors. I updated to 9.6.1 today, and it doesn’t look like the gradient is updating. I’ve cleared all cache plugins, tried multiple mobile browsers/mobile emulators, and the mobile menu gradient isn’t updating. Any ideas? Site is https://www.creatorbeat.com if you’d like to test.

I’ve had some problems with menu in mobile theme. Sometimes in home page it just simply not work. But accessing the post the menu works normally. I think that depends on wich post is showed in homepage, maybe related with post category.

Hi Calin,

All plugins are enabled.
Only Mobile is selected.
And still, it doesn’t seem that my posts/pages are AMP…
To me, it looks like less options. It looks like a roll back to the Mobile theme instead of pushing the AMP. And the Mobile theme is a pain as it forces us to fill in the content twice for Pages.
Really, I don’t understand the purpose of this update. I must be dumb hahaha

I do not want to offend anyone, but mis a mockery. Everything seems to work, but when you go to check the amp page at https://search.google.com/test/amp?utm_source=support.google.com/webmasters/&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=%207320015 the answer is that This is not a valid page. I did several tests and if you use the mobile theme the amp pages are not recognized by google. You need to deactivate the mobile theme and use the plugin in the classic version to make the AMP pages work. At this point I see myself looking around for better solutions, since it seems solved but has been resolved for the worse. Think about the outburst, but being downgraded in rank due to issues not dependent on me annoys me a lot.
