Hi,
You can not make the image dimensions smaller because the modules on the blocks need a certain thumb size to display and this is the way the blocks were designed, these thumbs being generated from the featured images you set on your posts as explained here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ Big grids are meant to use big thumbs as seen in the demo here – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/ – https://www.screencast.com/t/wKgYqeMEnnrq You need to optimize the images through software in order to compress the size in kilobytes if you want to make your site faster. Please use this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks
While using the well-known DBmanager plugin ( https://fr.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-dbmanager/ ) with Newspaper installed recently i had today a big problem. After simply using the optimize function, all posts and pages disappeared in my website (including in the admin interface). The menus too. I think nothing was “deleted” by the optimization (the size of the tables seemed the same, a bit lighter as they were cleaned), just WordPress was not finding / displaying them anymore. The admin interface of WordPress was still working normally.
Anyways, I had to use a backup to get everything back to normal.
With the previous theme i was using this plugin was working perfectly.
So, is there some incompatibility with this plugin ? Anybody else used it before with Newspaper ? I’m not sure exactly what happened, maybe this strange problem is not related to Newspaper.
What other database managing plugin could you recommend me (to avoid having to use PHPmyadmin) ?
Hi Elevas32,
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users.
Please keep in mind that at the moment, we cannot provide optimization services because this task involve time-consuming and we do not afford to do this, sorry! We only can provide support for basic theme settings.
Notice that all the steps from this guide were tested with the theme and if all of these were properly implemented will work as expected with the theme.
If you are not aware of these steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi Catalin,
I have reinstalled 3.3.1 using FTP, and have deactivated all plug ins to see if there is any clash. I have also tried the tips suggested by Chris S above, in that I have cleared transients using WP Optimize and have re-saved the Home page.
This doesn’t seem to have helped; the Home Page is not visible and Visual Composer is not accessible. If you can provide some advice it would be much appreciated, as this is becoming quite urgent.
Thanks a lot,
Mark
To house clean old revisions, I use the free WP-Optimize plugin 🙂
Hello Mayapur Voice,
I have checked your website on Google Page Speed and I saw that you bad page speed comes from your backend because it is not fully optimized as expected, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/1EoBquwsIH Please carefully read and apply all the steps from our guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ You can begin with optimizing your images using our method which is available in this guide.
I have inspected your source page and I saw that your render blocking are not moved in the footer, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/oMU9599X
Hope this helps!

Hi,
The mobile theme comes with it’s own predefined template for pages, posts optimized for performance and speed and it is fully tested and working properly. I can not replicate your problem so I recomend you follow the advices suggested above and try to deactivate your plugins except Visual composer just as a test and clear your cache and purge cdn files if you use it, to see if the issue is still present. Also check any custom code you may have added to the theme panel or theme files. More information about the mobile theme here in the documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ When activated you can not use any Visual composer element, because the mobile theme does not use this editor but you can use instead the mobile editor. If you want to display the same elements from desktop on mobile you can disable the mobile theme and use the theme’s responsive design and deactivate the plugin.
Visual composer does not need to be activated, it comes preactivated in the theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ and is updated with new theme releases. If none of the suggestions above produce any favorable results you can try and reinstall your theme or consider updating to the latest version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ the theme and it’s plugins.
Thanks
Dear Creators,
I have tried many options in last 2-3 days for improving Google Pagespeed scores – main area is Minify CSS and JS and Caching. I signed-up CloudFlare free / basic plan – but i dont think it is working.
***** Part 1: Minify CSS and JS
I tried following plugins and for last 2-3 days, it is not very much succesful and most of them give FOUC on the site.
Plugins Tested:
1. Autoptimize (If enable HTML then FOUC within seconds, and cannot select any advanced options because FOUC)
I tried to select options to push CSS inline and load into the head – using the advanced options, but homepage breaks.
2. WP Roids (some issue with .htaccess – maybe because of my hosting, but give FOUC) – I have contacted the plugin author already and there is another guy which has Newspaper 7 theme having issue with this plugin.
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/breaking-site-with-newspaper-7-visual-composer/
3. WP Super Minify (i dont know if this did anything – cannot see any changes)
4. Best WordPress Minify – using since today afternoon – Not FOUC yet
Note: Cloudflare Minify option is activated all the time.
Can you please advise which plugin to use – which will not break the CSS and render pages properly. I removed Revolution Slider for now also to improve speed.
Yes, what Catalin said… and after 30 seconds your site will time out. When you optimized your site it won’t be an issue. Also check this https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Hi,
@Mayapur Voice I guess your site was fully optimized. Which are google’s notifications that affect your speed.
Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide more details and your site url. What is interesting that we did not made and code changes in latest version 7.6.1 beside the login reported issue regarding browser not secure, no other changes.
@AdamAL Replied to your topic. Your site is not optimized.
@noonoo1 You can make a full backup before the update and see how it goes using the latest theme version – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups Like I said above 7.6.1 release was just a fix for sign in widget reported not secure error and nothing else.
Thanks!
Hi,
I recommend to check this guide and optimize your site – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Also I suggest leave active only the necessary plugins
I’m not sure what you mean with a skin ad. Do you refer to background image and set the url for it? – https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-introduction/
Thanks!
i have optimized my wordpress with caching system in cloudflare and caching on my server, ok this is good for page speed but i have new problem with my view counter that did not work
Good afternoon,
I am after a plugin that is similar to mashable.com where when you open up an article you see the first paragraph and then have to click on a button that says “Continue Reading” for the rest of the article’s text to show up. Please see screenshot attached.
Just wanted to know if anyone has any idea of a plugin or a bit of code that might allow this? Many thanks.

Hello orlando,
I will not tell you to hire a technician, but please keep in mind that you should do it yourself the site optimization because we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry!
First of all, the above plugins which you mean, are not tested with our theme, and we have no idea about the theme behavior with these, sorry!
As you can see, the speed booster will be automatically disabled if you will use some untested plugins. The Speed Booster is an optional plugin, and it works only with the tested plugins. If you use other plugins, it will be automatically disabled, and I suggest to check this first in System Status. However there is a workaround to make it also work with other plugins, you can read more here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-booster-not-compatible-with-vaultpress/
Unfortunately, the time doesn’t allow us tot provide any custom and optimization services. We provide support only for the theme related issues based on Envato support policy – https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy I suggest to get someone to help you if you want to optimize your site.
We recommend our speed booster plugin to increase your page speed and also, you should read our guide carefully because there you will find all the steps which are needed to take in this regard. Also, there you will find a method on how you can minimize the style.css file and also if you are using our speed booster plugin, the js file will be automatically minimized.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
Please note that the theme on itself will not provide perfect page speed results from the start. Page speed is a very personal thing and the optimization has to be done by the user in each case in particular. There is no theme that will optimize page speed automatically. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
We agree that the page speed score dropped some time ago but this is not the theme to blame. The speed is the same it was those years ago you mention. google changed their alogrythm since then. The speed is the same, the google score is lower however because google gets more and more ‘demanding’ with each passing year.
Thank you!

hi have use this theme for image site but facing problem with page speed. when i check google page speed test it shows me to optimize all my images. but my images are in medium sizes. check this http://bit.ly/2jKxZuZ .. i have an issue with all image sizes. i want to set all in same size.. on related posts it shows different sizes how can i fix that? you may check my post here http://bit.ly/2kHn4Cq i have regenerate images but can’t work for it.. and i have used in function php this code add_filter( ‘jpeg_quality’, create_function(’’, ‘return 50;’ ) ); but page speed still mess
I am trying to optimize my site because the google pagespeed test results came back poorly. The site is rated at 35 which is low. How can I optimize my site without having to do it all over again?
Thank you
Starting with point 3: The error warning started happening right when I activated mobile theme
4. I purchased the theme for speed, our alexa has really been falling drastically since install, we have noticed that the menu takes some time to load , its like it has a delayed animation.. This happens on your demo too. It thenm works fine after first load, but when you move to next page it struggles to load again. So if now if mobile isn’t faster, what will make the main site faster
2, we have optimized it accordingly and even added imagify, keycdn but the issue still persist , can you have a look? Please note that this is not a new site, it’s very old and has a history, and loads of visitors and has other thems changed. I am trying to resolve this with you, if you will take the time to see, but it just seems the speed issue is really a problem,
I’ll contact you with you with login
Because we manually did it. For every page and every image. 🙂
I have another question. Everything except images are working very fast but images are loading slowly. We optimized the images in photoshop to accepted quality & size. I couln’t understand.
The active plugins are

You can try to remove the loading animation from here: https://www.screencast.com/t/2ucIztChklJU
Images are very slow loading by default. You can try to optimize images by following our official page speed guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thank you!
Hello mayaguez,
Please notice that our theme does not have a maximum limit of ads. You can use how many you want and the slowing of your website does not come from this regard.
