After the latest update, the theme settings are not saved even after showing the saved notification. The theme settings show as saved, and when the page is refreshed, the settings are in the previous settings and have no effect on the website.
all cache was cleared, permissions were checked, and tickets were raised to the hosting company to check for permission errors. No error was found.
Hi,
I updated from 9.2.2 to 12.6.5 and all seems to work fine except that Google fonts are not loaded. I inspected generated html and noticed that only default fonts, Open Sans and Roboto, are requested. I0ve tried all solutions I found in the forum (delete and reinstall tagDiv plugin, clear cache, save settings…) and nothing worked.
I created a sandbox site to try the update, so original working site can be accesed:
- Original with 9.2.2: https://autocaravanasjesusmartin.com/
- New with 12.6.5: https://nueva.autocaravanasjesusmartin.com/
What am I doing wrong?
Regards.
Hi Dave,
To change the width, you can set it here, but you need to set the width on each column-> https://i.imgur.com/MVh7p5G.png or you can use the css code, but please make sure that you have set also, the positions and margin.
The advantages are that you can create your design as you wish, plus most options can be added from the composer. You can create a unique design for each email or for categories.
Some key features of the TagDiv Cloud Library templates include:
Customization: Users can customize the templates according to their preferences and branding requirements. This includes changing colors, fonts, layout structures, and more.
Responsive Design: The templates are designed to be responsive, ensuring that they look great and function well on devices of all sizes, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
Easy Integration: Templates can be easily integrated into WordPress websites using the TagDiv Composer, a drag-and-drop page builder tool offered by TagDiv.
Diverse Selection: The library offers a diverse selection of templates catering to various industries such as blogs, magazines, e-commerce, portfolios, and more.
Regular Updates: Templates are regularly updated to ensure compatibility with the latest WordPress versions and to incorporate new features and improvements.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please let me know if you have tried the suggestions provided by him Chris. Also, you can try to update to the latest version of the theme 12.6.5
Also, do a full backup of all files and databases before updating.
Also, please try to update the theme without extra plugins activated during the installation, as this may interfere with the installation process.
Also, after the update, please make sure the tagDiv plugins are installed, like tagDiv Standard Pack and tagDiv Composer.
Thank you!
I updated newspaper theme and getting this red line : https://prnt.sc/KO_8KSJAl4Aq
How to fix ?
Hello Calin,
Was there any solution for Instagram linking? It is still not working at my side.
Thanks for update.
All my plugins, theme and WordPress are updated with 6 hours in average. Never more than 24 hours.
I did update to 12.6.5
Hi,
Please update the theme to the latest version 12.6.5.
This malware infects not only theme files but also WordPress files or other plugin files. This malware was not detected only in our theme but also in many other themes and plugins https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/massive-balada-injector-campaign-attacking-wordpress-sites-since-2017 / -> https://cybernews.com/security/wordpress-malware-epidemic-balada-injector/ -> https://www.geoedge.com/balda-injectors-2-0-evading-detection-gaining-persistence /
You could consider reinstalling the WordPress version, reinstalling the theme, and checking for this plugin wp-zexit.php. It might be wise to inspect via FTP if it doesn’t appear in the WordPress -> Plugins. Additionally, using Wordfence to scan the website and remove unknown users would be prudent.
Change admin passwords and delete admin accounts you are not familiar with;
– Delete any weird/unknown plugins;
– Delete the weird/unknown themes;
– Clean unfamiliar Theme Panel injected code (example – https://i.imgur.com/4q70kCv.png);
– Clean WordPress files (example – https://i.imgur.com/stJCqiK.png)
If you’re not sure how to do it, our custom work team can help you with both theme updates and malware file cleanup https://tagdiv.com/submit-a-request/
Thank you!
One of my domains got suspended, it was the one using Newspaper theme. It has been restored after I removed the theme and plugins. I removed ALL files to start fresh. Some facts about me:
I update things in under 6 hours. if an update comes while I am sleeping hence 6 hours. No more than 24 hours.
I do not use any plugins that has no updates in 6 months or more. I use 2fa with my User account, Wordfence is used. My password is 25 mixed characters (lower and upper case, letters, numbers and symbols).
In everything else in my computer/digital life, I use a Yubikey and get notifications when there is a login.
Here is the original message I got from my hosting provider, for privacy’s sake I censored the domains:
Hello,
We have noticed trouble in the account with big CPU over usage in the account with monthly average value:
45.80% of 5.00% CPU Limit
and peaks over 65% recently seen in CPU Statistics menu:
https://(myloginidformydomainhosting.com)/statistics/load-stats/
In general, the more traffic and hits a PHP-based website gets the more CPU it consumes to process the scripts.
Additionally, high CPU usage is generated when a PHP-based website generates a high number of queries to its database:
https://(myloginidformydomainhosting.com)/mysql/stats/
https://(myloginidformydomainhosting.com)/statistics/web-stats/
https://(myloginidformydomainhosting.com)/statistics/traffic-stats/
Cross-reference of these factors and statistics will indicate to you which website generates the most CPU in the account.
In your case, this appears to be a combination of many websites running in the account starting with WordPress website at:
(mydomain.com)
which appears to be compromised by a hacker and running malicious scripts similar with its TagDiv plugins and Newspaper theme described in this article:
https://blog.sucuri.net/2023/10/balada-injector-targets-unpatched-tagdiv-plugin-newspaper-theme-wordpress-admins.html
and with huge amount of hits at:
(mydomain.com)/wp-json/tdw/save_css/
Due to these reasons, we have been forced to suspend the domain name, so it cannot be accessed online. Although this is so, you can access the domain name folder via File Manager or FTP to remove the trouble content.
The best solution in such a case is to download files to your computer for a comparison copy thus you can configure later needed plugins and templates as well as retrieve single static files like images.
Remove all files from the host(domain or subdomain) folder thus you can be sure that all malicious files are removed.
After that reinstall your website completely with a new fresh version of the scripts(core application, plugins, themes, etc.) latest versions. Use database configuration from wp-config.php file downloaded before so you can connect the reinstalled website to previous database for your website previous information.
Here is also a detailed article on a hacked website:
https://(myloginidformydomainhosting.com)/help/view-article/?id=550
Restore of the website files does not help in such cases as it reverts the same outdated scrips of your website which the hacker has compromised before so the trouble is repeated again and again.
Please check the content of your entire hosting account for any third-party scripts which are not a part of your websites uploaded by the hacker and remove such ones.
You have to change all passwords in your account too – all FTP accounts passwords and all scripts admin passwords.
After website is reinstalled you can try general protection of the WordPress script with a plugin such as one of these:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-wp-security/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordfence/
To optimize a website further:
– Try to reduce PHP/MySQL database requests with additional caching plugins like:
– WP Fastest Cache – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/
or
– W3 Total Cache – https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/
– check details of the queries running – Query Monitor – https://wordpress.org/plugins/query-monitor/
and try to reduce queries or check with their developers for optimization advice.
– Try to reduce the number of articles that appear on your front page and reorganize them into sub-pages. This way you would lower the number of queries processed to the database on each visit of the website and will improve the site performance.
-check some advice to restrict bad bots crawling your website as they are a waste of website resources in general. Check online advice articles similar to:
– Limit hits from Google bots from their system:
https://search.google.com/search-console/about
– check official WordPress documentation: https://wordpress.org/support/article/optimization/
Monitor the statistics mentioned above for at least a couple of days which should be enough to see if the changes made have enough effect or if you need to take further measures.
We will expect a solution of this trouble from you in 7 days and we may be forced to suspend the account after that if no updates are provided from you in this ticket.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
(insert technician’s name here)
Hello,
Please update the theme to the latest version, 12.6.5. It seems that you have an older version.
I recommend that you update the theme manually https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ via FTP/cPanel/File Manager, also if possible disable extra plugins during the theme update to avoid any problems that may arise and make sure that you have activated the tagDiv Standard pack plugin to keep the website’s look. You can try to update the theme on a staging website.
After you update the theme, you need to update the theme plugins too.
In the worst cases, the settings in the theme panel may be lost (there have been isolated cases), in these cases, after the theme plugins that were previously used are activated, you will have to use a backup for the theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Thank you!
Hello Calin, thank you for your answer, although it is not very helpful to me.
Requests like that are really a real problem and headache. It is very painful and totally inefficient. What can we do to improve performance? Wouldn’t it be more convenient to store and keep those values updated, rather than having to calculate them with each visit? The newspaper is on good hosting and still has the database bottleneck that takes more than 1.8 s to perform all the homepage queries. A horror! What can I do to shovel it until I have a solution? Do you plan to do anything to solve this problem?

The WP Editor won’t load. Can’t edit/update site components without it. Help!
Everything else appears to be running fine. Checked folder and file permissions and everything should be correct.
Hello @Cerbero !
Unfortunately, there is no option. Only if you will change the code in the theme files.
Please note that if you have some custom modifications in the theme files, then better save the code and replace it after every update.
Thank you!
Hello Luca!
No. You can ignore and disable it. Let only the first option be selected, so you will receive the new updates.
Thank you!
Hello,
I recommend updating the theme to the latest version, 12.6.5 to be updated and check after if there error persists.
If you want to update the theme, you should download the latest version of it from Theme Forest account and download it.
Hello,
Using our theme, you can choose from 3 mobile versions
-> mobile responsive => https://www.screencast.com/t/oJ2ShOp47
-> mobile theme plugin => https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
-> mobile page => https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/ The option that you need to use.
Suppose you created the mobile pages with tagDiv Composer. In that case, when you install the Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin (the mobile theme comes with its templates for page, post, category, etc, so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY.
So, the mobile responsive is what you see when that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).
The mobile page has the mobile templates from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/YCcZ8rL8
The Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edit with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin cannot.
For example, you can have the mobile theme plugin activated and use the mobile page/mobile responsive version for the homepage/pages, but for the categories pages/404 page, you can’t use the mobile page/mobile responsive version if you have the mobile theme plugin activated.
Thank you!
Hello, in order to omit certain posts, i have decided to create categories from not appearing on the home page. i have used the “posts loop” on the home page.
how can i achieve this?
i cannot enter the too many posts that i want to be excluded from the home page.
for example i write 5 posts on the same topic i only want 1 of them to show up in the posts loop. because the rest of 4 would be thin posts such as q and a relating to post published earlier, or some quick update to the article.
can you suggest a best way to achieve – How to skip [categories] or posts from the posts loop.
it would be great if this can be selected from the post itself.
there is a sticky button in the wordpress post controls. can we have similar something for skipping from loops.
please reply.
also one feature suggestion.
Since news are dynamic. almost everyday some topic of a wordpress post has an update. in order to post updates to an already published post, i tried using a couple of plugins, however it didnt work well as it slowed the site down. However here is an example of what i am trying to achieve. ”
A timeline to an existing post. ”
see below.
here is an example plugin
https://wordpress.com/plugins/post-timeline/newspatron.com
here is a typical use case scenario and its bare minimum practical example
[given the case that dynamic developments happen to a given already published post]
https://www.wp-timelineexpress.com/examples/basic-timeline/
Thanks for your understanding.
Hi,
Is this problem persisting when only bakery are composer are enabled?
This is interesting, do you have the last theme version? If you do not have it, then I will recommend to make a full backup, update the theme, the theme plugins, the WordPress and bakery with the one provided in the last package from the themeforest.
In case that the problems is still persisting, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access. Also, include this topic to can identify you faster.
Thank you!
If you just updated to WordPress 6.5, try doing hard cache clear in browser. We had jquery error when trying to set a shedule date, clicking on the date nothing would happen, so could not schedule anything. Took us a while to note something changed with jquery and java in latest WP.
a) in Chrome hit shift + F5 to reload admin page without cached JS files
b) do “save permalinks” in main WP settings to clear some transients
Not theme related as far as java weirdness we were getting. Might not apply to your issue.
(I don’t work here)
How do you know it works? I changed the headings to different words. Can you provide a screenshot showing the updated text on your side?
Hi, I have duly purchased and activated a license of the NewsPaper theme on behalf of a client.
The problem is that I created a staging of the website, to test all the updates (theme, plugin and WordPress) in complete safety, but the NewsPaper theme in the staging installation does not have a license key and therefore I am unable to update it.
Live website: https://www.economymagazine.it/
Website in staging: https://www.staging3.economymagazine.it/
How can I add the license key on staging without losing the one already active on the live site?
Greetings
Alexander
Hello!
Follow this guide to clean your WordPress and theme of malware: https://askwpgirl.com/10-steps-remove-malware-wordpress-site/
After that, you can update the theme to the latest update.
For every update, we always recommend the following:
-> First of all, please make sure you have a backup.
-> Please deactivate all the non-tested plugins with our theme before updating.
-> Update WordPress, PHP, the theme, and plugins to the latest version: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/.
-> Check all these requirements for the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thank you!
Hello @Fausto!
Please note that if you have some custom modifications in the theme files, then better save the code and replace it after every update.
Try to change the h3 into h2 in this path: td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/shortcodes/td_block_image_box.php on 420 line.
Thank you!
Are there any plans to create a KakaoTalk share button in the next update?
Any update on this feature? Has this been implemented? If not, please consider adding the ability to modify the link URL for the author’s name in the header login.
